The streets were mildly busy in a district full of entertainnt buildings in the capital. People moved about calmly that night, and a beastly man, in human form with a very ordinary appearance and aura, walked casually until he turned a corner.
"Ouch!" A muffled female voice sounded.
"Hey, you bumped into her on purpose, bastard!"
An angry male voice rose, and the man staggered slightly before steadying himself and turning forward. He saw a tall, burly figure with black, scaly skin; the hybrid aura of a human and so strange beast was obvious.
Next to him was a regular human woman, looking a bit dazed. When the man looked into her blue eyes, he felt a strange glint. It lasted less than a second, but it was unusual.
"What are you talking about?! She bumped into !" the man defended himself. But, sensing the couple’s aura, he swallowed his words.
He couldn’t tell what realm they were in, but he was sure both were in the divine realms, while he was only in the Body Destruction Realm. Confronting them could be fatal.
"What am I talking about? Let explain! We were going straight, but you ca from that corner and turned left! I’m going straight, and you turned left. Who’s blind…" The burly figure started to solemnly reprimand the man.
At this mont, the whale and Kaiyka had altered their appearances to blend in as ordinary people from the area. Beasts, humans, and hybrids had been common there for centuries. Tall, burly beasts were not unusual, and a hybrid certainly made for strange appearances.
While the burly figure was scolding the man who had bumped into him, Kaiyka used her soul power to mark him. The man looked at both of them with suspicion and, in a second, used a hidden technique to detect any lies.
"Who turns left has to yield to those going straight, got it?! You’re at fault and bumped into her! You’ll have to pay for hurting her!" the burly figure raged furiously.
Suddenly, the man took a step back… and ran.
"Don’t run! I’ll find you! A monk might run, but your temple won’t!" The burly figure’s voice echoed, but the man had already disappeared long ago.
The whale snorted and led Kaiyka to a distant alley. Soon after, he focused on tracking the man’s movents. They both noticed that he had used sothing to test them, but with divine souls, it was easy to alter their fluctuations. After this test, the man was convinced they were just idiots trying to extort him and moved on.
Kaiyka, sensing him, murmured through the array: "Hmm? Clever, he’s starting to circle around."
He decided to hide in a bar and have a drink. He didn’t feel anything wrong, but since the situation was unusual, his spy instincts kicked in, and he decided to wait. After an hour, he ca out and circled the area five tis before heading in a specific direction.
"It’s just a professional habit," the whale comnted lightly. He had done plenty of covert work in the past and knew the basics. He then took out a ring and saw several dozen jade crystals, which were used as currency in that place. "It’s really shaful for a spy to be robbed."
As he moved, the man paid attention to everyone around, making sure no one was following him. Eventually, he entered a narrow alley leading to a casino. Inside, there were nurous people, and he blended in, making sure he wouldn’t be found.
Kaiyka confird the location. The whale smiled coldly and sent orders to everyone through the array. He then sent a ntal ssage to the five, leaving them extrely intrigued.
Kaiyka moved to another spot while Rivine and Nixis approached the alley. The whale quickly disguised the two, making them look more ordinary and less noticeable. Then, they took his arm; Rivine wrapped her wings around him, positioning him between two raised mounds. Nixis saw this and, even though she didn’t need to, did the sa. The whale hoped Ruri wouldn’t see this and moved on. They then entered the casino.
"Sir, are you here for an appointnt or just for fun?" As the trio entered, a half-human woman greeted them.
She wore very revealing clothes with a generous slit in her dress. Her makeup was heavy, and her cultivation was very low, in the mortal realms. This casino was modest but very busy, offering a variety of services.
She looked at the burly figure with a lascivious smile and sensed his hybrid beastly aura. Then, she turned her attention to the two won clinging to him. One was clearly a pure beast, and the other was human. The burly figure was the epito of a Young Master.
"I’m here to find soone. I don’t need a guide."
The burly figure threw ten jade crystal coins at her, delighting her. As for the guards at the door, seeing this figure being so generous with his money, they didn’t think he would cause any trouble and ignored him.
"Feel free, Noble Young Master," the woman said, smiling, and led him to an entrance. "If you need a room or anything else, just signal, and I’ll take care of it."
The three moved calmly. As they walked in, they were suddenly hit by the stench of alcohol and sweat. As they moved slowly forward, they quickly saw a man at the back staring at them in shock.
He recognized him, and their eyes t. Suddenly, the man reached out to touch the wall.
*Slash!*
A dry sound echoed, and a figure shot through the air with sharp, claw-like legs. It struck the arm that was just inches away from pressing a button on the wall; the arm shattered with blood spraying through the air.
Many people in the casino scread and ran. The first thought was that soone had co to destroy the casino.
The man imdiately moved his other hand towards the button, but the harpy flapped her wings and kicked him away with grotesque bone-cracking sounds. This button was used to trigger the alarm.
A look of pain and rage appeared in the man’s eyes, and his throat suddenly swelled as he prepared to scream. However, he was unsuccessful.
The whale grabbed his neck tightly and sealed all his movents. Quickly, his soul invaded the man, and his recent mories were forcibly read. He had low cultivation, and they didn’t need Kaiyka for sothing this simple.
Confusion spread through the casino, and people tried to escape. But the sound of a zither played, and everyone quickly felt their energy draining away. Within seconds, everyone fell into a deep sleep, including the guards at the entrance.
Nixis stopped playing, and the two approached the whale. They walked along the wall, and the whale activated a spot that revealed a hidden door.
Upon entering, he saw an underground passage leading out. Shortly after, another stone door appeared, blending perfectly with the wall. It looked like a common hidden door, but it was heavily protected. If soone tried to force entry without knowing the opening point, an alert would sound.
As soon as they entered, the stone door imdiately closed. The path ahead continued downward. The trio proceeded through the underground passage until...
"Y-You!"
A God of Wealth follower saw the intruders. He barely managed to utter a word before being killed by a fierce harpy. A shower of blood drenched Rivine, who wore a joyful smile on her blood-streaked face.
"Who’s there?!" The commotion imdiately drew attention, and so people erged from the back of the passage.
The whale raised his left hand and made a motion. Earth spikes shot up from the ground, blocking the cultivators from dodging in the narrow passage. They were all obliterated.
"What a disappointnt, in a frontal fight, they’re just pigs," Rivine mocked.
The sound of hundreds of footsteps echoed ahead. She turned to the whale with an enthusiastic look; he just nodded, and she ran off, radiant, flapping her wings.
Soon, only muffled screams and the sll of blood could be heard. They were so fragile that they couldn’t even see the harpy move. But she was really enjoying killing them, with laughter even heard.
’It’s like a rabid dog let loose to bite everything in sight,’ Bruno scoffed.
Nixis stood beside him, silent, seemingly enjoying the rare opportunity to be there. Suddenly, fierce winds attacked from all directions. The commander of this place moved; he was the true adversary, with cultivation at the elentary level of the Heavenly Saint Realm.
"Endless Violet Wind!"
*BOOOM!*
The underground passage collapsed. Frenzied energy exploded in all directions, and it was unclear how many cultivators were killed without understanding what was happening.
The whale gently held Nixis and leaped up through the earth as if nothing had happened.
The sudden explosion of the ground and the powerful auras alard the entire capital, causing countless people to run away in fear. Wind laws sliced through the skies with ruins exploding. A huge hole appeared in the center of several buildings.
The powerful cultivator didn’t have ti to grasp what was happening. Rivine, despite everything, was experienced. Sensing a powerful opponent, she attacked with her most powerful technique, which she had recently nad.
A dust mist still covered everything. The runes below exploded, and a miserable figure shot out. The whale clearly saw a white-haired half-human with a turbulent aura. He also noticed the whale narrowing his eyes; then turned and vanished.
Suddenly, a ray of light stabbed into the whale’s back. At that exact mont, his hand covered in earth runes grabbed the sword aiming at his back. The cultivator’s expression changed. He pulled repeatedly but couldn’t retrieve his sword.
*BANG!*
A shadow sliced through the air furiously, hitting him squarely, causing him to release the weapon violently and retreat several ters. Rivine stopped next to the whale, breathing heavily, glanced around, and flapped her wings, moving away beside Nixis.
The man’s eyes widened in fear; everything happened so suddenly. He turned to flee, not caring about what was going on. But as soon as he turned his feet, the dust mist cleared. He saw a do of spatial runes enclosing him on all sides.
At that mont, nurous cultivators surrounded him, looking on in shock. Who dared to fight in the capital? Didn’t they want their lives? The royal family would kill anyone causing trouble without rcy; not even flying in the city was allowed.
"Oh, I’m sorry, seems like I’ve disturbed your fun." The whale apologized insincerely while watching the man.
The half-human was the commander of the spies throughout the capital. His entire operation base, which even the royal family had no chance of discovering, was easily invaded and destroyed? He only realized when everything was already in progress.
"Who are you?!" He roared, sensing everything around him.
Suddenly, he sensed nurous auras erging inside the do, surrounding him, all with lower cultivation than his, but the bitter feeling of death hanging over him was palpable. The whale’s entire group was positioned.
The whale moved lazily, and a long spear appeared in his hands. He smiled grimly, and the figure understood the ssage, snorting.
"Die!" He roared, drawing another sword and attacking with all his superior cultivation.
A deafening sound reverberated, and the entire capital seed to tremble. All those with mortal cultivation began to sweat coldly, and the closest ones spat blood, running as far away as possible.
