A rune appeared on the whale’s forehead, and Liumi quickly jumped out. Alm and Bruno had already realized that this core spirit hadn’t been born there, and he deeply hated humans and the hero, even more than the demons in that place.
Since they were technically human, the whale and Ruri couldn’t calm the spirit and make him talk without using force. If they tried, he would really explode. So, Liumi was their lifeline.
The purple cat jumped onto the black blade, and it imdiately stopped trembling. Alm sensed the blade’s fluctuations and stopped using the tattoo, stepping back with Ruri. He realized that the spirit in the blade had no malice towards Liumi, even suppressing his fury so as not to scare her, which proved that the spirit in the blade was not inherently evil.
It took less than an hour for Liumi to send a ssage. The missionary was efficient in her conversion again.
The whale and Ruri approached. Liumi’s voice sounded in the whale’s mind: "Master, he feels a lot of pain... and it’s been going on for thousands of years. That’s why he’s so angry and irrational. But his hatred for the hero and humans is also real."
Alm focused on the blade. It was pure demonic tal, obviously connected to Yin. If he felt pain, it ant that the nature of his soul was not entirely compatible with the energy of the material.
Bruno nodded, and the Yang tattoo pulsed, with white energy enveloping the blade. Purifying the demonic tal completely would be a waste, but with the touch of Yang, the soul in the core seed to calm down. Then, Bruno’s divine soul power enveloped it, and the core was gently removed from the blade.
The blade was quickly placed in the inventory, and Alm sighed in relief. His precious tal was safe.
Bruno focused on the small core with the soul inside, and his pure Yang continued to penetrate and be absorbed. After a while, the core stopped absorbing. They realized it was exactly half Yin and half Yang. Before, it was entirely Yin, and he must have been in indescribable torturous pain all the ti.
The whale’s hand moved, stroking the purple cat’s head. "Good job."
Liumi smiled, satisfied, and the voice in the core spoke again. "Thank you... although you are a hum..."
"I already told you, Master transcended that nonsense," Liumi cut him off imdiately.
The voice didn’t retort. There was no more fury or malice. That soul had felt the divine soul’s power before; he was scared and still couldn’t comprehend what it was. But after hearing Liumi’s words again, he seed to understand sothing.
"Let’s start over," the whale said calmly. "I need to know what you are, and I don’t have much free ti."
The soul nodded and finally began to speak. "My na is Amary. I am the Sovereign of the ancestral race Essence-Root Tree."
Amary told his story. The Essence-Root Tree race lived on a planet in the central zone of this galaxy thousands of years ago. He led everyone, being the sole representative of his race.
All his subjects on the planet belonged to the Blood Seeker Tree and Life-Recovering Tree races. These two races could only exist by being born from a divine ancestral tree, which was Amary. Without a defined gender, Amary gave life to his subjects and commanded them.
There was only one representative of the Essence-Root Tree race at a ti, and when he was close to dying, he would give birth to another who would take his place.
He commanded his people, and they were respected and feared by all races in the galaxy. The demons of the Shadow God sect did not dare cause them trouble. Amary was not particularly powerful alone, but the Blood Seeker Tree were terrible to deal with, and the Life-Recovering Tree had unparalleled healing abilities, being divine support.
Until the day Amary’s arrogance got the best of him, and he dared to think himself above even a hero. Alm and Bruno weren’t surprised; he had been born a divine sovereign, without parents or any danger on his planet. Arrogant? He transcended that.
The result was that a human hero didn’t like his attitude and decided to destroy him. His hatred for humans was born then; he was unlucky, and the human hero saw him as a perfect engagent gift. This hero was marrying a demoness, the daughter of the Shadow God himself, and offered everything as a gift to his future father-in-law.
All forms of life of the two races were enslaved, and Amary was not allowed to die. His body was a treasure, kept alive to infinitely generate more slaves of the two races. His soul, not being relevant, was sealed in the immortal core, to one day beco the spirit of the weapon with the demonic tal.
Since it was the soul of a natural life form, they thought he was perfectly compatible to beco the weapon’s spirit. They created the core and sealed his soul inside, then placed it in the center of the formation that would create the tal, which began to be generated slowly around him, fusing and contaminating him.
It took thousands of years to complete the process. Every second was painful torture, surrounded by hatred and malice.
It was a new thod of creating demonic tal, unknown to Alm and Bruno. Since the core and the spirit already existed, the tal was gradually generated united with them, and it would beco fully compatible with the soul, regardless of the type of soul. It was a cruel but effective thod to avoid incompatibilities.
Alm and Bruno listened attentively to the story. The Blood Seeker Trees were the race that Mistie ntioned existed in the sealed world and were hunted as treasures. Therefore, they were not native to that place.
They told this fact to Amary, he sighed painfully, then confird that he knew about it. The races he could generate had different levels of purity and talent. The demons selected the weakest and spread them across the outer worlds.
They let them roam free, making them fight to survive. If they managed to kill so people, great; due to their techniques, they could overco the formation and refine the blood of their victims, improving their power and purity. In the end, they all died and transford into sothing better. And they still attracted the two smaller sects to their deaths.
As for the Life-Recovering Trees, they were never brought to the sealed worlds. They were considered divine treasures to other races, even when Amary was powerful and free, there were always attempts to kidnap and refine them.
Amary asked with sorrow, "The Shadow God sect in my ti was a top 20 sect in the universe. Is it still the sa?"
"No. Currently, they are the fourth largest sect in the universe," Ruri quickly replied, curious.
He huffed heavily and said, "That’s because of the Life-Recovering Trees being used. Other races can refine them to greatly increase their life energy. Humans, who have limited life energy, can live up to ten tis longer if they refine so. As for demons... they might live three tis longer."
Alm and Bruno understood. The power of the Shadow God sect didn’t co exactly from their God or anything else, but because their most powerful mbers lived much longer than normal. While other sects lost powerful mbers to old age, they managed to accumulate a gigantic and powerful army of three generations.
’So... excellent. This Shadow God must not be in the sect protecting them. He must only communicate and give orders through the faith that connects them. We can make bolder moves, and we don’t need to be as careful as we have been until now.’ Bruno reflected, and his eyes shone.
Alm nodded, but soon a doubt ca to his mind. He asked, "How do they manage to generate these two races using only your body? How does that work exactly?"
"My race is sothing primitive and ancient; we are all born with the sa variant spiritual root called: Essence of Life. And combined with that, our core is heavenly. It can absorb so of the heavenly blessings. And with that blessing and the variant root, it’s as simple as removing a dead leaf from my body," Amary replied lightly.
Alm and Bruno listened and imdiately imagined hypotheses. The whale turned to Ruri, who was listening seriously beside him, and quickly asked, "Is it possible to create a formation using his body as the core and attract the heavenly blessing to the formation?"
Ruri didn’t even need to think: "Yes, it’s not that complex, considering he could already do that easily on his own. But, the quantity would likely be halved."
There were other plausible possibilities, and this was one of them. They couldn’t be sure, but they knew where to find the answer.
’Kaiyka is getting better and better at removing mories even with the restrictions. If we give her dozens of people who have the information, she can easily gather fragnts from each and put the puzzle together.’ Bruno reflected.
Alm nodded. They already planned to visit the central area. Since there were already four Conquerors in the inner area, there must be several of them in the central area.
According to Mistie’s information about the Empyreans, before the changes the queen implented, an Empyrean Conqueror was the natural maximum limit a cultivator could reach without the divine luck of killing a favored one. (Chapter 557)
Rising from a true Empyrean to a Conqueror was possible naturally. As for the fruits of the chaos tree, they were ford by heavenly blessings, which increased the rank. Everything fit: the natural power of Amary’s body was a treasure used by the Shadow God sect, which could help those very close to becoming Conquerors advance.
It was sothing artificial, similar to forcibly rising in realm using pills. Probably, by doing this, these cultivators would lose the chance to beco heroes in the current days. But who cared? The resulting power was astronomical.
’It was truly an unparalleled engagent gift. The Shadow God sect rose like a dragon to the heavens, all at the expense of these three tree races,’ Alm said lightly, then gave a sinister laugh. ’Let’s fuck everything up big ti.’
