Inside the underground fortress, Alm and Bruno spotted a vast cavern. It was extrely plain, with the only presence being a demonic figure resting with closed eyes at the center.

The whale moved slowly, his steps making the ground tremble. Instantly, the demon’s eyes snapped open. He was an elder of the Ancestral Devil race, likely responsible for organizing everything in the ascending world. His cultivation was sealed to avoid drawing attention to this planet.

When he locked eyes with the whale, his gaze shimred ominously. Alm and Bruno chuckled sinisterly; he was a demon in the Divine King Realm.

"Sorry to disturb you," the whale said softly as he assessed the surroundings.

"Denil? Hehe, interesting. The Young Master has been looking for you everywhere, and you dared not stay in that diocre sect. Now you truly dare to co here. The youths these days are truly audacious," praised the elder demon.

"There’s no avoiding it, as that’s just my character. But the world is always changing. For instance, the roles of hunter and prey often switch, don’t you think?" the whale asked emotionlessly.

This person was definitely an ancient demon who had enjoyed his ti. Though he had completely reserved his aura, Alm and Bruno could still sense the boundless karma and resentnt in his body. This was the resentnt left by the people he had killed.

"Oh? That theory of yours does exist indeed. But you ca from a mortal place, correct? That doesn’t hold up in the divine world. The prey should only hide as best they can, doing everything possible to dodge the hunter’s arrow. Once the hunter finally gives up, the prey will also regain its freedom," the demon said, smiling maliciously. "But if a prey enters the hunter’s den, that’s not in accordance with the rules. Even if the prey manages to catch a hunter off guard, they will only attract more hunters, and then they won’t stand a chance of survival."

Alm and Bruno smiled inwardly. Essentially, the prey should accept being hunted and just try to escape with their best effort. Never retaliate or try to revolt, or the power that sustains the hunter will react, and nothing can protect the weaker side.

"Rules? Those are just things the strong impose on the weak. Whoever has the power is both player and referee. That kind of ga is quite aningless, and I don’t like it," the whale said, shaking his head slightly.

The demon nodded. "Oh? So what do you want?"

"I like to play by my own rules," the whale replied softly.

The demon tried to control himself and spat. "Your rules?"

"My rules are: if soone doesn’t offend , I won’t offend them. I’ll always ignore and save my ti. But if I’m provoked, I’ll solve the problem by pulling it out at the root," the whale spoke extrely relaxedly, as if discussing a ga.

"Pulling it out at the root? Hahaha...!" The demon laughed heartily, as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world. Tears even ca to his eyes.

The whale said nothing. He simply stood there with his hands clasped behind his back, a smile on his face, waiting.

After he finished laughing, the demon finally said, "Do you know how laughable your words are? Do you know how vast the Shadow God sect is? Setting you aside, even the leader of your Yinblood sect isn’t qualified to say they’ll do anything. Are you planning to keep joking?"

"Well, I’ve never been good at making jokes; but sotis I have my monts. As for whether my words today are a joke or the truth, you’ll never have the chance to find out."

"Hahahahahaha..." The demon burst into laughter again, until he stared at the whale and... his gaze moved involuntarily upwards. "Hm?"

"Idiot."

A female voice rang out in the demon’s ears. Only then did he realize, belatedly, that his head had been severed from his body. In the next instant, a terrifying power completely sealed his soul, extinguishing his consciousness forever.

Rehvka erged from the shadows after a flawless assassination. Not even Dem Zarn would dare to be struck directly by Rehvka’s dagger. This demon, with his cultivation sealed, was impossible to kill for those beneath him, as his body still retained the refinent and natural power of his realm. But facing this assassin, devoid of his true cultivation, he was rely mortal.

Alm and Bruno briefly conversed as the demon completely lowered his guard. Everyone stood ready, poised to act if the demon sensed anything amiss and activated his cultivation, which would complicate matters greatly. Ruri even prepared an escape formation, but ultimately, soone accustod to being superior never considered them.

The mont the elder demon died, a dozen black shadows appeared in the cavern. Each held a black spear in hand and imdiately hurled them toward the pair from all directions.

These spears were strangely powerful and as fast as lightning. At such close range, this attack was truly flawless.

But Rehvka simply transford into a shadow and appeared beside the whale. He rely waved lightly, and earth laws surged around them.

The spears exploded upon impact. Faced with the defenses of earth laws, these spears were rendered useless.

The demons widened their eyes; they were all young demons working to earn rits with the Young Master. Alm and Bruno felt the dense karma in them. How many ascending planets had they invaded and refined in just these few months?

’Bastards,’ Bruno spat dryly, then the ssage sounded through the array. ’Invade, kill everyone, and avenge the mortals.’

Every exit from that underground base area was sealed by a powerful formation. Imdiately, the entire group attacked with scarlet and furious eyes.

Powerful waves of Qi erupted. Quickly, hundreds of demons erged upon sensing the abnormality, but were t with devastating blades that killed them instantly. That elder was the sole problem there; everyone else was demons in the Spirit Fusion or Divine Origin Realm. The entire group was like wolves among sheep.

The place was quite large, and they invaded, overthrowing any living beings inside. It didn’t take long until the whale sensed sothing.

They moved and searched through the debris, until the whale stepped on the ground, causing the earth to fly up and reveal the entrance to an underground room.

The entrance had just appeared, and the dust had not yet settled, when nurous red lights shot out. They ca suddenly, but the whale’s expression didn’t change. He didn’t even blink. With a single punch, he sent a powerful wave of Qi that blew those lights back into the passage.

Miserable cries echoed from the underground room. There were demons hiding there; well, not anymore. Upon entering, they saw that the space was very expansive. There was a three-hundred-ter square altar.

At the top of the altar was a statue of a red-haired man, long horns, and a pair of red wings. His eyes seed to coldly stare at the whale. Though it was only a statue, it seed to have a life of its own. There was sothing about it that made Alm and Bruno feel as if soone was really watching them.

Bruno was sure; it really felt them and tagged them.

"So you’re the Shadow God? Can you feel , you bastard? No?" Bruno sneered with disdain.

BOOM!

The whale directly destroyed the statue with a punch. Bruno activated his rune of faith, completely dominating all the power accumulated in the statue. Now it was his.

’There really was a statue... oh well, fuck,’ Alm reflected ntally.

If Bruno could feel his faithful and even slightly the things around his statue and city, a powerful god surely could do sothing similar or bigger. They were not expected to find a statue, so they could invade and leave without a trace. But with it there, it was impossible. The Shadow God and his sect will know what happened.

Bruno mocked, using a stone, he wrote sothing on the ground where the statue was: It seems the beating from before wasn’t enough. A pathetic god could only have followers on this level.

He had destroyed their god’s statue and left behind such provocative words. Alm and Bruno no longer cared; this sect had already been screwing with their lives, so they wouldn’t be friendly.

Fortunately, after understanding the previous movents of this sect, they knew they could not directly attack the Yinblood sect because the chaos dragon was sealed there, and the sect was created to keep the seal running. If there wasn’t a very good justification for the heroes, they would never attack directly.

That sect was the shield of the whale. But from now on, the largest sect in the galaxy, and one of the largest in the entire universe, would put on your dead list of a simple human from an ascending planet at all costs
