In Skyward Forest, there weren’t any sect mbers or outsiders apart from demons and a few divine beasts. For years, the Grassrunners had been set free and lived within the sect under Nimfle’s care.
Despite the power that could make anyone tremble upon witnessing it, it wasn’t laws or Qi, but rather the power of the soul. Sothing imnsely potent yet subtle. Both knew they couldn’t draw too much attention and contained it within the barrier, keeping control of their souls to prevent leaks without alerting anyone from the outside.
The entire place seed to freeze in ti in the face of the power of the two divine souls. The whale floated, leaving Ruri petrified on the ground. The clash was sothing she could barely breathe through.
The skeleton seed to pulse, and a subtle energy rose upwards, quickly accumulating and taking shape. The lingering power in the bones was drawn out, forming a physical shape.
A surprising figure began to materialize slowly, as if erging from a celestial portal. It was the likeness of what was once an immortal insect. Standing several ters tall, it resembled a mix between a butterfly and a gigantic plush toy.
Its wings, broad and majestic, extended in a spectacle of immaculate whiteness, with delicate patterns in silver tones radiating a soft luminosity. Every movent of the wings seed to create a graceful dance of light and shadow, enveloping everything around it in an ethereal aura.
The creature’s body was covered in fluffy white fur, gleaming like freshly fallen snow under the sunlight. Its eyes, black and shiny; one could notice the intricate details on its antennae and legs, each adorned with small filants of light sparkling like distant stars. Its presence exuded a sense of peace and tranquility, as if the sky itself were smiling upon those who beheld it.
’I’ve... never seen a divine beast like this, but... on Earth, there was sothing so similar it’s almost comical.’ Alm and Bruno, now united, thought with strange looks. ’That’s a colossal version of a Silkworm Moth.’
The whale huffed, eyeing the figure in the skies. The insect had created sothing that could really fight, but it was a one-ti use and would last at most two exchanges. Its Qi was scant like that of a mortal cultivator, but its mastery of the laws and ability were high enough to potentially kill him if not taken seriously.
A frenzied wave of Qi surged out of the whale’s body like a tsunami. Its physical cultivation was pushed to the limit. The sound of heartbeats echoed like thunder, as all the primal power of its behemoth rune was burned. The Silkworm’s eyes vibrated, stunned; it felt the physical impact and the primal power.
The whale nodded, and two tattoos lit up on its fists. The Yin and Yang of the world warped under its mastery. Suddenly, the two opposing laws of life smoothly rged; they didn’t have the rune of the Duality of Shadows law, but with primal power, they could create a disposable version of it.
Seeing the holy power like a white sun around the Silkworm, he knew that was exactly what they needed. The insect was even more shocked; this figure demonstrated three techniques above anything he comprehended. How could sothing like this exist on this planet? He pondered an answer but needed to confirm. If he misjudged, it would be his eternal end.
"Co, use everything you’ve got. I want to see what a dying soul can do," said the whale, smiling villainously.
The insect seed to snort, and in the next instant, infinite runes of the Holy Light Law erged around it. In the blink of an eye, its entire figure exuded a dazzling glow! For a brief mont, this bright, scorching light illuminated, blinding the whole world. Under its brilliance, everything seed transford into pure transparency!
In a fraction of a second, it seed like all the lights of this world converged on the majestic body of the insect. At that mont, it radiated an infinite amount of light. A palpable sense of danger fell upon the whale.
’This... shouldn’t have significant offensive power...’ The whale’s mind reflected for a mont, stunned.
anwhile, the Silkworm raised its wings, unleashing a cascade of brilliant beams of light. Each beam seed to slice through the air like sharp blades, converging towards the whale as if they were arrows of light in a sacred eclipse.
BOOM!
The impact of the beams of light was overwhelming, flooding the skies with a divine aura that enveloped the whale in its sacred glow.
Ruri watched wide-eyed as the whale was engulfed in thousands of beams of light. A red mist of blood perated the whale amidst the dazzling light. But... she clearly felt her master alive.
The beams continued to focus and rain down on the whale; the entire forest below remained completely intact... it was a Yang coming from a truly sacred law. Only the target was aid at, and nothing would suffer any consequences.
It took a few seconds for the insect in the skies to stop, trembling. He felt sothing amiss... that human seed completely focused on defending himself using an extre earth law, but suddenly everything changed.
KABOOM!
The world’s light was swept away like a tsunami of violent laws. All the sacred power vanished, and the forest was swallowed by a terrifying darkness and emptiness. The Silkworm even felt his runes, which were ready for a second strike, suddenly emptying.
His whole soul trembled in astonishnt when he saw the round figure in the air. He was covered in red, hands behind his back, with a sarcastic look. Around him, infinite stars seed to illuminate the darkness of that world.
Suddenly, all the runes around the Silkworm disconnected from his mastery and moved towards the whale. All those stars... they were the runes of the Holy Light Law.
’He... mastered my law? I created it myself!’ Thought the insect, completely disbelieving.
The whale’s eyes sensed his thoughts. "You didn’t create that, it arose with your power being used as fertilizer. The celestial laws created it, you were rely used by it to create that."
The whale spoke slowly, and the Silkworm’s eyes trembled. He could try another attack, but all his combat aura drained on its own. Soon his cold, sowhat feminine voice echoed through the air.
"Are you truly a new missionary? I’m sure they were captured, and Heaven’s Will lost its ability to create others!"
The whale nodded. "I’m the last of them... well, there’s actually another one I recently freed. Well, it doesn’t matter; my target is the one who did this to you."
"I see... these techniques, there’s no doubt... but you’re not a brainless brat like the others..." The cold voice sounded pensive. Then, the eyes of the figure in the sky turned to the whale. "I want revenge. If you’re a missionary, you receive celestial blessings. If you help , I might stand a chance."
"Hm? Want to follow ? You’re just a soul, you still need to find a body. I’m not letting you take my brother’s; it’ll take too long for you to nourish." The whale responded disinterestedly.
The figure’s eyes seed to grow irritated. "I wasn’t going to use that child. I didn’t know you were his brother, and that human lost all her mind and consciousness; she’d never be able to raise him. I took him so I could remove the soul that was placed, then I would wait for the heavens to put another one. I would raise him as a son in place of the human."
"Hm? And your body? How were you going to be reborn?" The whale asked, already knowing the answer.
"I don’t see much difference between humans just by appearance, so I don’t judge. But I have the female gender, I can generate my own eggs. Before my old body was completely dead, I laid an egg that was a clone of myself. Doing this without the opposite gender consus much more than you imagine; but I hid that egg for thousands of years hoping to be freed and reborn one day." The answer ca softly, confirming everything.
The whale turned to Ruri, and she felt his gaze; soon her eyes glead, understanding his intentions.
"I see... an egg, so you’ll turn into a weak larva and it’ll take ti until you develop again. It’s a sha... but also your luck." The whale spoke calmly, arousing the curiosity of the figure.
"My girl is a beast tar. If you stay with her and remain loyal, you’ll be considered one of mine. Ruri is talented and learns fast, you can help her and I’m sure you won’t be frustrated."
The figure turned to the small human on the ground. Her eyes fixed on her, and her divine soul scanned every inch of her; Ruri showed no defenses and let her see. On her forehead, a rune with the bestial world existed.
"Hm... two very strange wyverns, one hybrid and one mutant; they have potential, you have good eyes. As for this technique... it’s high-level, but it seems like you haven’t properly dedicated yourself to studying it. You’re wasting sothing good, and I also see potential to modify and expand it." The voice sounded analytically.
She saw Ruri’s two internal runes and hid her shock; her ntal power was terrifying, akin to the whale’s powers. As for the spatial rune, it seed to have been incorporated from dense laws of the divine world; a mortal cultivator possessing sothing like that was shocking.
"Your talents are good... but I fight in an unusual way. My power has many limitations, I need proper support." The voice said slowly, trying to be polite. Clearly not willing to be submissive to anyone; it was like a dragon having to suddenly beco a dog, seed impossible to accept.
Ruri quickly spoke insistently. "That’s not a problem! Master will be with , and we have other allies who are as strong as . I swear to help you develop, I don’t want to be your owner; I know I’m nothing compared to you. I want to be your ally and friend, together we can follow master."
The figure sighed, nodding and looked at the whale. The whale, in turn, returned the gaze... but it was cold and bloodthirsty. The figure trembled slightly, surprised; shortly after, she understood. It was a clear ssage: Don’t think about doing anything strange or causing any trouble to her.
The figure seed to laugh lightly. This confird another thing: this little human was his woman and he really cared for her and loved her deeply. If anything happened to Ruri, this missionary would turn the universe into death... suddenly, a strange feeling perated that divine soul. She felt that he not only was capable of this, but had already done it.
Feeling this, the figure felt a bit strange, but after a few seconds, she turned to Ruri and slowly descended from the sky.
"I’m Coltia, that’s my human na... I had a human partner in the past and she gave this na. I’m demanding and... well, you must know well, since you live with him. Let’s get along."
