A frenzied and furious intention from the bloodline of an ogre filled the entire room; Ruri’s face twisted slightly, but there were no signs of her waking up. The whale, on the other hand, imdiately opened its eyes, and instinctively, the two divine souls focused on the enemy with an endless ancestral killing intent.

Langrum felt her entire soul and QI petrify imdiately, but in less than a second, everything disappeared, leaving her feeling just strange. Soon, she saw the whale stand up, and her anger flared up again, along with her words.

"You... how could you... she hasn’t even turned 13 yet!"

"Hm?" The whale looked at Ruri and saw the strange situation they were in; then, it realized the other peculiarity oozing from Ruri and turned to Langrum with a strange look. "This blood... she has technically just stopped being a child."

CRACK!

Langrum’s fists slamd into the wall violently as she tried to release her fury. Almin, who tried to approach, took several steps back in shock; if she attacked, things would get ugly.

"YOU UNCONTROLLABLE BEAST!!! Couldn’t you have waited a few years! She deserved to stay pure, and her Yin would have helped in her cultivation!" Langrum exclaid in exasperation.

The whale’s expression beca ambiguous, leading Bruno to finally understand what Langrum had in mind. Quickly, Bruno and even Alm turned cold and furious; a subtle killing intent perated their eyes, as if they were on the brink of exploding at any mont. Langrum served as a trigger with this misguided interpretation. They cared for Ruri as if she were their daughter, so why were they constantly slandered?

"It’s not what you’re thinking. But this will repeat monthly..." Bruno replied slowly, conveying strong resentnt.

It seed like Bruno could only escalate the situation, perhaps involuntarily, due to his irritation. When things appeared to be getting serious, Almin, in desperation, imdiately intervened before everything worsened. He rushed over and had Langrum physically check Ruri. Obviously, she was still a virgin.

"This..." Langrum was taken aback, finally understanding the aning of Goku’s words.

Yet, Langrum had no ti to be embarrassed about the incident. She noticed sothing that troubled her: Ruri seed to be very unwell. Physically, she was fine, but despite Langrum not fully understanding, she felt that the girl’s soul was very weak and almost extinguishing.

The whale then sighed; Almin and Langrum looked at him and understood the reason behind his intense irritation earlier.

"It seems she chose the worst ti for this..." they comnted, and soon their eyes beca a bit serious. "To kill the patriarch, I had to use sothing that was far beyond my capabilities. Ruri was crucial, and she ended up sacrificing a lot."

Almin and Langrum had passed out before the patriarch’s appearance, so Loeus had already told them about the patriarch’s arrival and how the whale did sothing incomprehensible to allow their escape.

Upon hearing the whale’s words, both of their eyes widened. He... he killed a patriarch? They both thought simultaneously. But in the next instant, their hearts tightened as they looked at Ruri, who was in a deep sleep.

The whale then continued gently. "Her soul was seriously damaged because I had to connect my soul directly to hers."

They beca even more tense; a damaged soul was considered a taboo among cultivators. It was a consensus among mortals that there was no way to restore the soul except by dying and being reborn.

"Don’t be too distressed. I can slowly restore her soul; it will take years to complete. However, she should wake up in a few more days, relatively well," reassured the whale. "That’s why she was so closely connected to ... and we only slept together since we arrived, so we were so unprotected."

Almin still found it a little strange. "By unprotected, you an naked? Was there really a reason for that?"

Bruno nodded. "I was also recovering, so I didn’t care about such things as clothes. I just took it all off and put Ruri as close to as possible. From there on, we have pretty much been sleeping nonstop."

Bruno then looked at Langrum and Almin. "Still, you should know by now that I wouldn’t do such a thing. Why do you always have the worst possible ideas? You have quite a dirt mind, don’t you?"

"Who the hell has a dirt mind?!" Langrum retorted. "Anyone would have had the sa idea if they had seen you two in this situation."

"Whatever..." Bruno didn’t pursue the issue.

To Bruno’s surprise, both of them sighed in relief after he finished his explanation of Ruri’s recovery process. At this mont, they had an almost supernatural confidence in the whale; if he claid he could do it, it was like a divine decree. Then, Alm realized why all the residents of the city worshipped them as gods; even these two who knew them up close seed to share a bit of it.

’That’s why I always preferred to kill from the shadows and keep my distance. We draw too much attention; many ntally weak people in this bloody world end up developing irrational faith, clinging to others. We were nothing more than the divine totem of the mont,’ Alm dryly comnted.

’Not everyone wants to live amid blood; they just desire tranquility and peace. We ourselves once wished for that in the past,’ Bruno responded gently. ’Life put us on this path of revenge, and I don’t wish to turn back; I will end that bitch. But, we can provide what we couldn’t for these people. Think of it as paying off our karma.’

’Karma? Are you talking about the universe we killed? Everyone would have killed us, controlled by the queen. There was no way to avoid it. Not to ntion that we only refined their lives; their souls were returned to reincarnate. It wasn’t a true death, like most people on Earth think,’ Alm retorted.

Bruno then sighed, speaking. ’Who are you trying to convince? I am you; I lived, felt, and feel everything you think. It’s true that we didn’t go so far as to destroy the souls of everyone, but that doesn’t justify us killing the entire universe. You and I already understand this, even though you don’t want to admit it.’

Alm didn’t respond and just snorted; soon, Bruno continued. ’Think about Ruri; do you want to build a world where she grows up amid blood and killing until we reach the queen? And then? Will she be happy and live as if nothing happened, or will she have a corrupted mind like ours?’

Alm cut in sharply. ’Do you really want to go through with this? Do you intend to turn this whole planet into our domain, as if we were divine beings? That will be a responsibility and a weakness easily exploitable by the queen. It will infinitely delay us, and we will have to act with extre caution because of them.’

’True... probably our revenge will be much longer... well, we’ve followed the villainous path to the ultimate consequences in the past. Now I prefer to follow the right path,’ Bruno spoke seriously, and Alm didn’t respond, lost in thought.

’We’ve already erased the queen’s influence on Ruri; it’s not hard to imagine that we can do that with everyone at so point. Think of it as if we were stealing them from the queen and slowly diminishing her power. Co to think of it... the queen’s power might co from sothing similar to this. Why does she control all people in multiple universes?’ Bruno comnted, pondering that detail now.

Alm spoke emotionlessly. ’Maybe it has sothing to do with it. And who knows, reducing those numbers might help us against her.’ Alm then returned his gaze to Ruri in his arms, with an oddly uncharacteristic tenderness from him. ’We only helped her by chance... but who would have thought she could influence so much in our future actions. Well, damn it. I don’t mind going along with it.’

Bruno smiled ntally; Alm was almost sincere, but in the end, he returned to his usual pattern. Their entire conversation lasted a few seconds, and Langrum and Almin were still nearby. They then watched the whale turn to Ruri, looking at her deeply.

Then, Langrum’s eyes narrowed, and Almin sighed in disbelief. Ruri was no longer a child internally, and because she had been constantly nurtured with the Yin of the saber and the prison, her body was slightly more developed for her age. At this mont, she practically had no clothes, showing almost all of her curves that already resembled those of a developing young woman. The whale’s gaze in her direction was penetrating and strange. Why the hell does this whale have no common sense?

Too bad, though. Bruno noticed their gazes as well. "What? Do you still think I’m going to do sothing to her? Truly... why do all my companions have such dirt minds?"

Langrum and Almin were taken aback, feeling even more embarrassed. Goku had seen straight through their minds. They even wondered if the problem was truly themselves instead.
