She looked at her awestruck disciple, muttering sothing under her breath. Tang Ning, on the other hand, stood up and nodded silently.

"Elder..." Tang Ning said, turning to the elder who had questioned her earlier

"Y-Yes?" the elder stamred, clearly nervous. Tang Ning's status had changed. She was no longer just a candidate to beco the next sect master—she was now confird.

"About the question you asked—I can say, yes. I will be able to get second place," Tang Ning said confidently, determination burning in her eyes.

On the side, Hui i's expression turned a little strange, and the corner of her lips twitched.

'This is the first ti I've seen soone so determined to get second place instead of first,' Hui i thought, staring at her disciple, montarily at a loss for words.

In the hunting ground, a large crowd had gathered, made up of players surrounded by a red and dark aura. The way they clustered themselves together only intensified the murderous energy around them. No sane person would dare approach this group—for even in a virtual world, the oppressive aura would be enough to make their legs tremble with fear.

Yet, at this mont, this group of so-called dangerous players looked pale with fright. Sweat dripped from their foreheads as if they had just stepped out of a shower, their clothes clinging to their bodies. They kept wiping the sweat continuously, occasionally swallowing hard. Any passerby unaware of the situation might think they were simply overheated and parched from the weather—but the real reason for their condition lay in the scene before them.

The ground ahead was soaked in blood, as if a great wave of water, no in this case blood,

had just swept through. Crimson stained the earth, and beast corpses were scattered everywhere. Further ahead stood a small hill—one made entirely of beast corpses. But what truly struck fear into everyone's hearts was that among the pile were also several dead players. Their bodies were stripped clean of any treasure or equipnt.

"Damn, they're too ruthless," said a woman in the crowd, her eyes locked on three blood-soaked figures. Even though they were completely drenched in blood, it did nothing to diminish their beauty. Her gaze was a mix of admiration and fear as she watched the trio cut down beasts with chilling efficiency.

The three, of course, were Bai Lingxi, Shi Wu, and Luo Li, who had been relentlessly fighting and killing.

"How long have they been fighting?" soone in the crowd asked.

"I got here an hour ago, and the ground was already covered in corpses. So it's been at least that long," another person replied.

"Bullshit! How could they kill so many in just an hour? Do they have infinite stamina?" soone else scoffed, staring at the three girls who showed no signs of fatigue. He couldn't help but wonder what kind of monsters they truly were.

"They're also incredibly ruthless. I saw them brutally kill a few n," said another person as he instinctively covered his lower body.

"Heh, serves them right. I saw what happened—they were coveting on the girls because of their beauty. They deserved it. Wait a minute… aren't you one of those scumbags too? Tsk, looks like you got lucky. Should I call them over so they can finish the job?" a woman said with disdain, glaring at the man beside her.

"N-No, wait! I'm sorry, Big Sister!" the man pleaded, turning pale. He swallowed a mouthful of saliva as mories of his companions' grueso deaths flashed in his mind, even though it was not real and in virtual world it still chilled his heart, morever so of the arrogant ones had their pain sensitivity at 100% . The way they were taken out—especially how their 'family jewels' were targeted—sent a chill down his spine and made him shiver.

In his eyes, those won fighting weren't just beautiful—they were terrifying. Not only had they killed their enemies viciously, but they had also looted every last treasure from them. He glanced at the pile of corpses—both male and female—and rembered that these were the players who had attempted to ambush the trio during a break, thinking they were out of spiritual energy.

As a result, they were rcilessly slaughtered without a chance to defend themselves, and the way they died makes him shudder.

"Also, look closely—have you noticed they're participating in the Inner Court Promotion Exam?" said soone in a low voice. Everyone who heard him turned to look at the three won with wide eyes.

"Damn, you're right! I didn't notice earlier—I was too distracted by their fighting," said another person, sucking in a cold breath.

"Fuck, what kind of monsters are participating this ti? The Inner Sect competition is going to be different," soone else added.

"Yeah, I wasn't planning to watch the matches since the Heavenly Sword Sect wins every ti, but these disciples don't seem to belong to that sect. They might actually lose this ti. I've changed my mind—I'm going!" said another excitedly.

"They must be the strongest ones taking the exam," a disciple comnted.

"Huff… Huff… This is the last one," Bai Lingxi panted, speaking to the others as a smile spread across her face.

"Yes, our cultivation is increasing," Shi Yu said, feeling the aura around her body change.

Whoosh—

Suddenly, the auras of Bai Lingxi, Shi Yu, and Luo Li began to surge. One breakthrough after another followed until all three reached the Peak Golden Core Realm.

"Hehe, maybe we can enter the rankings before Wang Ming does," Bai Lingxi said with a smug grin as she causally kicked a corose of a player out of her way as he sawlled towards the other girls.

But suddenly, she felt a chill run down her spine. Her smile stiffened as she noticed Luo Li and Shi Yu staring at her with blank expressions.

"My damn mouth…" Bai Lingxi cursed just as a new system ssage appeared before her.
