Chapter 29: Open Challenges

Zi i sighed, looking at Lin Feng. She was truly happy about him being able to cultivate. She was eager to know what the problem was but curbed her desire for the ti being. "It’s Senior Li Xiang."

"Ahh, so it’s her. She has taken a disciple?" Xuan Xue asked.

Zi i nodded. "Yes. His na is Wu Jian, Early Foundation Establishnt stage."

Lin Feng was curious about open challenges. He had a pretty good guess about what it was, but he still decided to ask. He nudged his aunt. "What’s an open challenge?"

"Ahh, that. It’s like a show-off. You see, so seniors like to bring their disciples into sect competitions like this and let their disciples challenge the winner of the competition, of course in the sa cultivation realm.

These seniors are mainly reclusive and are not from any great sects, or at most from small sects under us. So bringing their disciples to challenge the top sect disciples boosts their image, as well as the confidence of their disciples, if they win.

And since the Frozen Heart Sect is one of the three top sects of this world, we get a lot of these challenges. We don’t mind them; it has beco a normal occurrence now.

This is also the only ti we allow males who genuinely wish to challenge to enter the inner area of the sect.

But not everyone can enter. Challenges are like a bet. Those who challenge us must leave behind a good treasure if their disciple is defeated. It is the price they have to pay for initiating the challenge, and since they are seniors, they leave behind quite valuable treasures."

Lin Feng nodded. His guess had been quite good.

Zi i sighed. "Although we don’t have to give anything if they win, it is frowned upon, so we will still have to give so benefits. Not to ntion, it affects the image of the sect if so challenger wins and walks away. It would an that in the sa realm, our sect didn’t have anyone as good as them."

"If it is Li Xiang, and she decided to co here to challenge, then she definitely has confidence in her disciple," Xuan Xue spoke. "Not to ntion, given her reputation, she must have picked an excellent disciple."

Zi i nodded. "True. She has waited for this long to choose a disciple, so it must be extraordinary."

Xuan Xue shook her head. "Leave it. We can handle one loss. Not to ntion it won’t affect much, as the challenger would be the disciple of a peak Tribulation Ascendance Realm cultivator."

Zi i sighed and nodded. "I guess it is alright. We can’t do anything anyway."

Lin Feng watched everything calmly. He wanted to challenge this Wu whatever-guy, but if they gave a direct challenge with an Early Qi Refinent realm cultivator, it might look like an insult. He would ask his master and aunt about it later.

"So everything is completed?" Xuan Lian asked while looking at the arena.

"Well, we still have to do seating arrangents. Other than that, everything is completed," Zi i comnted.

"I see. Then we will go and show Lin Feng the whole sect. Gather the others and et us on the Treasure Peak. We have an important announcent to make," Xuan Lian spoke.

Zi i nodded and left to see to the last bit of work.

Xuan Lian, Xuan Xue, and Lin Feng walked further down to reach the largest area of the sect — the outer area.

"Well, this is the last area. Most of the training pavilions are here, as well as most of the disciples.

When soone joins, they are part of the outer sect. Only truly talented ones are allowed to enter the inner area upon joining. The other way to beco an inner sect disciple is to reach the Core Formation realm.

There is no need to ntion core sect disciples. They are the disciples of the Spirit Peak."

Lin Feng watched everything while walking. He could see many girls and won here. He didn’t know if all of them had so painful past or not, but they seed quite cheerful here.

But since they were part of this sect as disciples, at least they hadn’t gone through anything traumatic, as their dignity was safe.

"Well, that’s basically the whole sect. You already know about the inheritance sites, so there’s no need to ntion them."

Lin Feng nodded. Their sect had three inheritance sites, one for each level. He couldn’t see them, as they were dinsions that only opened at specific tis.

The outer sect’s inheritance site opened every year, the inner sect’s every five years, and the core sect’s every twenty years.

Inheritance sites were dinsions where sect seniors left their inheritances. They were like small worlds, containing natural habitats and treasures.

The sect always used spirit stones to replenish them quickly after every use. He had learned about it from his master.

"Well then, go on and have a walk nearby. Don’t tease girls, or you will see that your aunt gets jealous too," Xuan Lian said in a threatening tone. It truly looked like she ant it.

Lin Feng was stupefied. "Aunt, what do you think of ?"

"A lecherous, lustful scoundrel," Xuan Lian spoke imdiately.

"Cough! That’s a blatant lie, Aunt. It’s all because of my constitution."

"Really? Doesn’t it only happen when you haven’t done it for a long ti? And didn’t you and Xue’er just do it right now...?"

Xuan Xue’s face turned red. "Why are you dragging

into this?"

"So you are saying, you are fine with him fooling around?" Xuan Lian squinted her eyes at Xuan Xue.

Xuan Xue shook her head and shrugged her shoulders. "What do you an fine? If he does that, I’ll castrate him. He lived fine without cultivation for a year anyway."

Xuan Lian was pleased and nodded. "Perfect."

Lin Feng gulped a mouthful of saliva. It looked like his master was even more ruthless under her calm decorum. He would never forget this.

Although he knew all of this was a joke, and even if he fooled around they wouldn’t get much angry to literally castrate him — they already knew he was lecherous, and as long as he knows his limit, everything will be fine.

Whatever the case, he wasn’t planning to fool around anyway. He was content with them. But there was one person he wanted to be part of them — Senior Sister Mo Yan.

He really had to make her his real senior sister. Only that way would his master and aunt accept her wholeheartedly. But he couldn’t bring this topic up right now, as they would guess his real motive, and he might really get punished.
