Chapter 1: Chen Xuan! System Activation!
At the top of Yin Yang Peak, a handsome young man dressed in white sat cross-legged with his eyes shut.
The Spiritual Energy around him rioted, creating a funnel that poured into his body.
Little by little, it assisted him in breaking through the bottleneck.
A few moments later, a faint cracking echoed as if a mirror had been broken.
However, just when it seemed that Chen Xuan had succeeded in his breakthrough and his aura was about to surge, the sound was cut off.
The Spiritual Energy came to an abrupt stop as well. The various phenomena surrounding him ceased.
As he opened his eyes, a trace of easily detectable regret flashed across them.
"It failed again!" Chen Xuan muttered.
Why did he use the word "again"?
Because this was far from the first time that his breakthrough to the Middle Stage of Core Formation had failed!
Chen Xuan was filled with annoyance when he first faced this situation.
But as months passed without him making the slightest progress, he gradually came to accept it. A bottleneck was expected.
"Thankfully, I can feel that I’ve gotten closer to shattering the film separating us."
"An opportunity. All I need is an opportunity, and I will break through." Chen Xuan whispered to himself, though it was unclear if these were his true thoughts or if he was merely trying to convince himself.
Either way, he rose to his feet. He gently patted his clothes as his Spiritual Energy tumbled.
Then, his figure turned into a light and soared into the sky before descending towards the buildings not far away.
...
"Master!"
The moment he returned to his residence, a youthful female voice rang in Chen Xuan’s ears.
As his feet fell to the ground and he felt its tough texture, its owner swiftly moved towards him, and their appearance was revealed.
A beautiful woman, wearing a long blue dress that highlighted her curves and her well-proportioned figure.
Her long brown hair fell onto her bare shoulders, while her eyes shone with excitement upon capturing his figure.
Chen Xuan nodded in acknowledgement but didn’t respond.
The woman did not mind his silence.
She followed right behind him and entered the block of buildings. Soon, the two reached the back of the vast courtyard.
It was only then that the woman stepped closer.
Her hands gently grabbed his white robe and slowly removed it, before she guided him towards a small lake of crystalline water.
As Chen Xuan closed his eyes and let the water strike his bare chest, he sensed a pair of soft hands start to massage his tense shoulders.
At the same time, he felt a pair of elastic, bouncy weights press against his back.
This sensation would let the imagination of every man run wild. This included, of course, Chen Xuan.
Or at least, this was the case when he first encountered such a situation.
Almost a century had passed since then.
Chen Xuan had become used to the customs of the Yin Yang Peak.
This was the infamous Dual Cultivation Peak of the Jade Pure Sect after all.
And he... was the disciple of the previous Peak Master, and the one who succeeded her after she disappeared.
As he recalled this, the figure of a heroic woman sought after by countless men emerged in his mind.
A trace of annoyance flashed across his face, and he grumbled inwardly, cursing his Master for being too irresponsible!
It was fine if she wanted to go missing, but why did she have to leave him with such a mess?
It took a few moments for Chen Xuan to calm down. Fortunately, the gentle touches on his shoulder allowed him to relax.
Suppressing his thoughts and leaning back, allowing the woman’s hot breath to hit his ears, Chen Xuan kept his eyes shut, and he spoke up.
"Su Ying, has anything happened in the sect while I was in seclusion?"
The hands massaging his shoulders paused, but they soon resumed their movements.
The woman, Su Ying, seemed to fall into thought.
"Reporting to the Master. Nothing of particular importance has happened recently."
"If I had to say, it would be that the Peak Leader of the Battle Peak has had a breakthrough."
"Moreover, the Sect has recently discovered an Origin Mine in the West."
"There’s been some tension between the White Lotus Sect and us. Rumors are that the two forces will soon confront each other."
Su Ying continued giving her report for a while. She reported both big and small things, chiming in to give her opinion whenever she deemed necessary.
Just when her voice grew lower, and she was about to stop, she suddenly remembered something.
"Oh!" she exclaimed softly, "There’s also the Disciple Ceremony coming up."
"The Sect Leader has ordered that at least a Core Formation cultivator should attend the ceremony."
"Master, should I inform Elder Yu as usual?"
Su Ying knew very well that Chen Xuan had no plans of accepting a disciple any time soon.
Moreover, he was generally unwilling to interact with the rest of the Elders and Peak Masters due to certain circumstances.
In the previous years, the only other Core Formation cultivator of the Yin Yang Peak, Elder Yu, had been sent to attend and bring "fresh blood" to the Peak.
In her opinion, this year was bound to be no different than the past.
Chen Xuan sighed that Su Ying knew him the best. She was worthy of being someone who had followed him for several decades.
Indeed, he had no plans of accepting any disciples, much less going through the trouble of attending the Disciple Ceremony.
He was about to nod and agree with Su Ying’s suggestion.
But just then, his expression froze.
Though he quickly recovered and Su Ying didn’t notice anything amiss, his earlier shock was apparent.
That was because, the moment Chen Xuan was about to agree, a few lines of shimmering text appeared in his field of vision.
