Chapter 13: Zhuo Hongyi's True Intentions Are Revealed
What should I do now?
Han Lie was montarily at a loss.
He could certainly continue reporting Zhou Ze, but the problem was, how was he supposed to get the report to Ye Qingxuan this ti?
"This Senior just wants to cultivate in peace and quiet. Is that so difficult?"
Han Lie grumbled inwardly. He was thoroughly vexed now.
Seemingly noticing Han Lie's distress, Zhuo Hongyi then proposed, "I can give you a permanent solution. Would you like to hear it?"
"Please speak, Captain Hongyi." Han Lie perked up his ears.
"My residence happens to be short of a Servant Disciple. Why don't you co to my place? I can guarantee you a peaceful old age." Zhuo Hongyi said with a serious face, not seeming like she was joking.
Hearing this, Han Lie imdiately beca alert.
To his ears, Zhuo Hongyi's words sounded exactly like a little girl eting a strange, creepy uncle on the road who tells her he has delicious candy at his house.
"So this is the Pure Yang Sacred Body? It's truly unreasonable!"
Han Lie was secretly astonished.
He still only looked like a wretched old man, yet the succubus-like nature of the Pure Yang Sacred Body had already managed to utterly bewitch Zhuo Hongyi.
If he were ten or twenty years younger, Han Lie didn't dare imagine what kind of scene it would be.
Han Lie gave Zhuo Hongyi a once-over.
To be fair, Zhuo Hongyi's figure was indeed excellent. Where it should be ample, it was ample; where it should be perky, it was perky. That slender waist, supple as a water snake, was clearly the result of specific training. Her looks were also that dashing, enduringly attractive type.
Although she couldn't compare to Ye Qingxuan, within the entire Heavenly Void Sect, Zhuo Hongyi's appearance definitely belonged in the top tier.
But the problem was, this was the Heavenly Void Sect! The Heavenly Void Sect that devoured people without spitting out the bones!
Who knew how many wicked sches Zhuo Hongyi had brewing in her belly? What did it matter if she was a squad captain of the Law Enforcent Hall? Han Lie simply didn't trust her.
He still wanted to return to the Violet Heaven Palace, return to his little wooden hut, and cultivate in peace and quiet.
"Ahem... Captain Hongyi, This Senior is rely a Servant Disciple with not many days left. How could I possibly be worthy of such kindness from you?"
Han Lie put on an expression of fearful trepidation and politely declined. "Your kind intentions are appreciated by This Senior. Please don't trouble yourself with ; just let live or die as fate wills."
Zhuo Hongyi remained silent for quite a while before finally spreading her hands and stating frankly, "As you wish. I rely saw your pitiful state and wanted to help you."
"Since you don't need it, I am naturally happy to let go of my urge to assist and respect others' destinies."
Han Lie clasped his hands together gratefully. "Thank you for understanding, Captain Hongyi. Since there's no need for further investigation or questioning, may This Senior return now?"
"Whenever you wish."
Zhuo Hongyi didn't give Han Lie too much trouble. After making a simple record, she let him leave.
Erging from the Vermilion Bird Squad office of the Law Enforcent Hall, Han Lie hunched his body and stepped into the night.
"Sothing doesn't feel right..."
Although he had smoothly left the Vermilion Bird Squad office, Han Lie had an uneasy premonition. Would that Zhuo Hongyi really let him off so easily?
"I'd better hurry back."
Not having ti to think too much, Han Lie quickened his pace. He wasn't heading back to the Servant Disciple departnt, but to the little wooden hut at the entrance of Violet Heaven Palace.
Only under Ye Qingxuan's watchful eye did he feel even a sliver of safety. Others might not know yet, but at least Han Lie could now be certain that Ye Qingxuan wouldn't kill him for the ti being.
Han Lie understood clearly that he had to lay low now. Once he cultivated himself up and relied on the super succubus nature of the Pure Yang Sacred Body, wouldn't there be plenty of won? One Zhuo Hongyi wasn't worth regretting over.
He didn't want to take unknown huge risks for a Zhuo Hongyi he knew nothing about.
However!
On his way back to Violet Heaven Palace, while passing through a dimly lit and secluded bamboo grove, a sudden naless chill wind arose.
Han Lie's frail body shuddered; an utterly unanticipated coldness shot from the soles of his feet straight to the crown of his head!
"What was bound to co has co."
In the next instant, a black blur shot out from within the bamboo grove, speeding towards Han Lie at a speed difficult for the naked eye to follow.
Han Lie didn't even have ti to react before a hand chop knocked him unconscious.
Then, the black blur hoisted Han Lie over its shoulder and swiftly vanished into the night without attracting anyone's attention.
The next day. Law Enforcent Peak.
This was where the headquarters of the Law Enforcent Hall was located.
"Master, you summoned ?" Zhuo Hongyi walked in with efficient, steady steps.
In the center of the main hall, on a ditation cushion, sat a palace-attired beautiful woman in a lotus position. Only when Zhuo Hongyi entered did the palace-attired woman slowly open her eyes.
The beautiful woman had a face that retained its charm. Even wearing loose palace robes couldn't conceal her stunning figure.
"Hongyi, last night I ordered you to arrest Jia Tong, the manager of the Servant Disciple departnt. You brought back that Servant Disciple nad Han Lie as well."
The beautiful woman's purple lips parted slightly as an older-sisterly voice that seed capable of lting a man's bones softly fell.
"Yes."
"Hmm. Where is he now?" The beautiful woman gave a slight nod and continued asking while gazing into Zhuo Hongyi's eyes.
Zhuo Hongyi paused slightly for a mont before cupping her hands respectfully. "Reporting to Master, your disciple does not know. Last night after making a record for him, your disciple let him leave."
"Unless sothing unexpected happened, he should have returned to the Servant Disciple departnt?"
"But Master... he's just a Servant Disciple. Is it necessary for you to care about his whereabouts?"
Zhuo Hongyi was puzzled. Han Lie was indeed undoubtedly a Servant Disciple from that departnt. But why would her master—the Hall Master of Law Enforcent Hall—ask her about Han Lie's whereabouts?
The beautiful woman didn't answer Zhuo Hongyi's question. Instead, with an interrogative tone she said: "People from the Servant Disciple departnt did not see Han Lie return last night."
"Then... your disciple does not know!"
Zhuo Hongyi lowered her gaze slightly and stated firmly, "Your disciple indeed let him leave last night! The Junior Brothers and Junior Sisters at the office can testify!"
The beautiful woman stared intently at Zhuo Hongyi for quite so ti before slightly softening her tone and speaking earnestly. "Hongyi, you are one of my most accomplished disciples."
"I am not questioning whether or not you let Han Lie leave last night. The problem now is that he is missing, and you were the last person who saw him."
"No matter what thod you use—even if you have to dig three feet into the ground—you must find him and bring him back."
"I want him alive or dead!"
"But rember: do not cause too much commotion."
"Your disciple obeys!"
Not daring to ask any more questions, Zhuo Hongyi hurriedly withdrew.
