At these words, BaiShe’s expression changed radically. The mask of the protective and scholarly brother shattered into pieces.

His eyebrows furrowed and his face beca of an abyssal coldness. The air in the room seed to freeze, the spiritual pressure suddenly increasing despite his injuries.

Ling’er, despite her resolution, felt a shiver of primitive terror run down her spine. Her body began to tremble involuntarily under the gaze of this predator she had just unmasked.

"You are right, I had everything planned,"

" I wanted to use Lin Feng to beco the heir in your place. But that idiot dared to covet you, with feelings for you, he was an obstacle to my control over you and therefore I massacred him."

With a movent of lightning rapidity, he stood up and seized Ling’er by the throat. His gesture was not violent enough to break the bone, but it was charged with an overwhelming possession. He pulled her toward him, their faces so close that she could feel the cold emanating from his skin. Ling’er froze, her hands uselessly gripping her brother’s wrist.

"Listen to well," he murmured, his cold voice resonating in the young woman’s chest.

"I may be a heartless monster, a demon ready to commit all atrocities to reach the summit." His silver pupils seed to tint with a malevolent purple.

"But under this sky and on this earth, NO ONE! has the right to covet or intimidate my Ling’er. Not even the Dao itself."

Ling’er struggled to regain her breath, her golden eyes fixed in BaiShe’s. She saw in his gaze an obsession that surpassed affection, a darkness that wanted to engulf her entirely.

"You are crazy, BaiShe..." she articulated with difficulty while pushing his hand with all her strength. "I am not your thing. I am not an object you can possess. I do what I want with my life."

BaiShe released his grip with an enigmatic smile, almost amused by her resistance.

"You asked if I was going to kill you simply because you know my true nature?" He laughed softly, a sound devoid of any warmth.

"Do not be stupid. Even if you revealed my identity to the entire world, it would change nothing about your situation. Ling’er... even dead, you could not escape . You are bound to by destiny, you belong to ..."

He approached her ear again, his warm breath making the young woman shiver.

"Naive little girl... I do not care that assassins tried to take you. If necessary, I will kill every cultivator in the Upper Realm, I will raze every sect, because no one touches what belongs to ."

Ling’er abruptly stepped back, her heart pounding wildly. A slight blush, a mixture of sha and an emotion she refused to na, appeared on her cheeks.

"You are just crazy, BaiShe," she said while trying to firm up her voice. "I was wrong to co here. You should have died at the border."

She sniffed loudly, turned on her heels and left the chamber with hurried steps, leaving BaiShe alone in the darkness.

[Ding ! You have deeply shaken the heart of a daughter of fortune !]

[Gain : 2000 luck points.]

" Hm ? It was not planned that I would derail so much but it seems it had its effect."

Indeed, BaiShe had no affection for Ling’er. But his golden egg hen. He would accept no one taking his Ling’er away. It was borderline obsession wanting to keep her under his control at all costs.

That is why he had arranged for Shadow Garden to attack Ling’er so he could save her and plant so doubt in her heart, but the little girl was so stupid that she spilled all the truth and therefore, BaiShe had no choice but to prevent her from doing sothing stupid. Even losing his calm, but for a reason he did not know, she had shaken his heart...

Once outside, Ling’er leaned against the wall of the pavilion, trying to calm her boiling mind. Her body was still traversed by slight tremors.

In her previous life, she had done everything to attract BaiShe’s attention, desperately seeking a crumb of his affection. But in this life, it was him who seed totally obsessed with her.

"What is this possessive look ? "

’Is it because I have beco different that he acts like this with ?’ she asked herself, her fingers brushing her throat where his hand had been placed. ’He is so crazy... Is he really crazy about ?’

A persistent redness rose on her face, putting her in a mad rage against herself. She shook her head energetically to chase away these parasitic thoughts.

"I will not take orders from you, BaiShe," she murmured with a new determination. "I will be the heir of the Supre Dao Sect no matter what. And then, you will finally know that I am not your thing."

The tsundere sniffed one last ti, proudly straightened her shoulders and walked away into the night, unaware that her apprehension about BaiShe was changing more and more.

***

The winds of the Upper Realms no longer carried only the perfu of dicinal herbs and the purified Qi of the celestial summits but also the na of the young master of the immortal Xuan family.

In every tea pavilion, in every crystal palace and even within the most remote sects, rumors were running wild about the heir of the Xuan family.

It was said that this young scholar, usually so distant and indifferent to worldly trivialities, possessed a single and unique weakness capable of breaking his mask: his adoptive sister, Xuan Ling.

In the space of only one month, the Saint Son of Pride had co close to death several tis for her, sacrificing his own cultivation base to protect her against the Devourer’s claws and even a few days during an assassination attack. This devotion, perceived as a flaw in the armor of a genius, fueled the most passionate conversations.

However, another rumor was shaking the foundations of the cultivation world.

The entire Upper Realm was only talking about BaiShe’s cultivation level. Reaching the Law Master realm at Peak stage at only twenty years old was a miracle inaccessible to ordinary mortals.

At an age where the most promising young talents still struggled to stabilize their Spiritual Core, BaiShe was already rising to the level of many heads of small sects, possessing an intuitive understanding of the laws that govern the universe.

...

Far from this agitation, in the desolate lands far to the north of the Nether Dynasty, a landscape of rocks and cold mists served as the setting for a very different scene. On a steep cliff, a young man was sitting nonchalantly, observing the drift of the clouds with weariness. His hair was a flamboyant golden blond and unruly. His amber eyes were capable of piercing most illusions of the world.

He wore a golden and red tunic, richly embroidered with celestial cloud patterns, but it remained slightly open on his athletic chest. A wild and untad aura emanated from him contrary to his refined young master features.

He brought a pipe to his lips, letting out a fragrant smoke that mixed with the cold air.

"Young Master Sun ! I bring you news from the outside !" exclaid a breathless voice.
