Cao Xiang woke up in his embrace, on the bed in the cabin of the ship, and as the mories of the night before went through her mind, she imdiately dived into the blanket covering the two of them.
Wu Long lightly laughed as he saw the cute blob of her head under the blanket, gently patting on top of it.
After a bit, she peeked from under the blanket, and seeing the affectionate look in his eyes, snuggled up to kiss him, her cheeks still burning red, but unable to hold back expressing how she felt after seeing that gaze.
After their kiss, she settled down in his embrace, enjoying the feeling.
"I never thought that I could be this happy, not until after I beca your woman", she said after a bit with a smile on her face, as all of the talk about the past last night made her think of how blessed she felt now, and then raising her head again to look into his eyes, softly spoke "I love you"
"I love you, Xiang’er", he smiled, and went in for another kiss as he rolled over and gently pushed her onto the bed.
After their kiss ended they did not part their heads for so ti, as he pressed his cheek against hers, and they listened to each other’s breaths with closed eyes.
They changed poses again, as she lay next to him, leaning her head on his shoulder.
---
"ngqi", Wu Long called the beauty who was lost in training, and she snapped out of it, turning to see him approach.
"Honey!", she smiled, and went up to him, receiving a hug she craved so much but was denying herself the pleasure of for so ti.
"Want to go on a date with ?", he looked into her eyes, seeing sothing lit up inside them and then weaken.
"Of c-... I...", her words, which started coming out before she could even think about it, also trailed off.
He put his forehead against hers while holding her cheeks from both sides with his palms.
The warm and comfortable sensation caused her to close her eyes, soaking in this mont.
"Life won’t start when you are ready for it to start, ngqi, it is happening right now. The perfect mont to start living it is not sowhere in the future, when you achieve sothing, but now, whenever now is. Our goals and achievents matter because of the ti we spend getting there matters, and how we spend that ti determines if those goals and achievents are worth it. Don’t try to put life on hold, because it cannot be put on hold. We both already made that mistake back then", he gently spoke in a quiet, soothing tone.
She slightly shook, and then the tension in her body gradually started dissipating.
A light smile appeared on her lips, as she nodded after a bit more hesitation.
He took her to the Silver Wing City where they went through the streets, spending so carefree ti together, talking about just anything that ca to mind, observing the everyday life of the city.
At the end of their date, Wu Long sat on a small hill not far from the city, with Wu ngqi on his lap as they watched the sunset.
The very next day, Wu ngqi made a breakthrough in her Sword Dao, and in her sword style, which started manifesting shapes of tree leaves caught in a whimsical wind.
"Unbelievable... she already entered the manifestation stage...", Ye Ling shook her head in astonishnt, "It took nearly a decade before my sword started manifesting the lotus shape for the first ti..."
"But you also gained Sword Intent fairly early which halted your progress in developing your sword technique", Wu Long shrugged, standing next to her.
"Is that why you told everyone not to focus on gaining Weapon Intent even if we feel like we are on the verge of comprehending it?", Feng Yi asked, suddenly realizing.
She was not anywhere near comprehending her Arrow Intent, but she knew that Bi Rui, Shen Min and Wu ngqi were definitely on the verge of comprehending their weapon intents when Wu Long told them it was best to hold off doing so. Or rather, he told them not to focus on it, allowing it to co naturally when it does.
"Mm, once you comprehend your Weapon Intent, it becos a kind of peak, like the pot that Ci Han made, which halts your progress until you find a path beyond that peak", Wu Long nodded.
Feng Yi nodded in understanding, rembering it for future.
Wu Long then accompanied her to the shooting range, where he oversaw her practice.
"Mm, your comprehension of Archery Dao certainly improved, as did your skills", he ca closer and then stood behind her, placing his hands on her shoulders, and looking over from the side "Take aim"
She followed his instructions, and nocking the arrow onto the bow and pulling it.
She habitually closed her eye to aim and stopped in this position.
"Now keep both eyes open", he added.
Feng Yi’s eyebrow rose, but she again did as he said, opening her eyes.
"You see? Your field of vision just doubled"
"But my focus..."
"It is a matter of habit", he explained, "You have seen a blind swordsman, what tells you one cannot be an archer without seeing anything at all? Archery is all about your arrow hitting your target, nothing else. As long as you achieve that, you are a great archer, regardless of how you achieve that. You could aim solely with your Spiritual Sense if you want. So you could be a great archer with one eye closed, but it is not a necessary condition. By closing one eye you are only limiting your field of vision, which limits your ability to see the battlefield, that is the only purpose that action serves"
As she listened to him speak, she started understanding that she was focusing too much on a ’ritual’ of shooting. Making sure to keep her movents consistent every ti she took aim, disregarding the essence of what archery was.
She took a deep breath and focused. The next mont, the arrow left with a twang of the bowstring, zipping through the air and hitting the target.
"Good, again", he spoke, and she took aim now without closing her eyes.
She shot arrow after arrow, slowly adjusting to aim with both eyes open and expanding her understanding of the process of aiming beyond just seeing the target and focusing on it with her eyes.
Eventually, she was able to aim with both eyes as naturally as she was with one eye closed, and even more precisely.
"The next step would be to be able to maintain vision of your surroundings at the sa ti as you focus on aiming", Wu Long nodded, and she nodded with eagerness.
He smiled seeing that look in her eyes, unable to stop himself from giving her a kiss which she imdiately returned with a passionate kiss of her own.
