Xue Bing just finished ditating in a remote part of the mansion, which was her routine for so ti. Her focus was not on increasing her power, but controlling what she already had instead. It took so ti before she was confident enough in her control to be near anyone but Wu Long, who helped her with adapting.
But in the past few days she started spending at least so ti with the rest of the Dao Family.
As she approached the main terrace they usually gathered at she could already hear the voices of Wu ngqi, Hua Ziyan, Shen Min and Cao i.

"Oh, Sister Xue Bing, did you get full control of it?", Wu ngqi shifted focus seeing Hua Ziyan's reluctance. At the sa ti Shen Min turned a slightly concerned look to the latter, but seeing her look back, relaxed again seeing it was nothing serious.
"No", Xue Bing shook her head with her usual expression.
"Did you think it's so easy?", Shen Min said with a smile, "Even Mingyu is struggling with her physique…"
She stopped, turning to Xue Bing, "I don't an to say…"
"I know", a smile flashed for a mont in Xue Bing's eyes as she nodded, "I also think that if anyone is to adjust first it would be Sister Mingyu"
"Hehe, I know it's not that easy" Wu ngqi chuckled, "I'm just so curious about your new abilities"
Her eyes were full of wonder and excitent. They all had witnessed how powerful her ice aura was after advancing, and it was only the manifestation of her new power.
Not to ntion that even Wu Long and Fen Baihu were very careful with that power.
Cao i also revealed a curious look, followed by Hua Ziyan and Shen Min.
Xue Bing sat down on the sofa with Shen Min and Hua Ziyan, "That's sothing I'm interested in as well. Unfortunately I don't have an answer yet. So for now I am more interested in what you were talking about earlier"
"Hm? Oh, I was just talking about Honey during our childhood", Wu ngqi chuckled.

Hua Ziyan who sipped a bit of tea almost spat it out, hearing the question she almost asked before, stopping herself at the last mont.

They could see a minute change in her mood as the usual bright and energetic look in her eyes montarily changed to a more serious and lancholic one.
Shen Min turned a slightly curious look to Xue Bing, who was perhaps the only person in the Dao Family who would address the 'elephant in the room' topic of Wu ngqi's past life, and in this blunt way to top it off.
"It was… the only ti I can think of when I didn't know if he would return…", Wu ngqi continued after a sigh, "...he was sent to a battlefield after battlefield…"

There was no hint of the usual warmth in her voice as she spoke the word 'they'. And while to Hua Ziyan and Cao i it just sounded a bit cold, both Shen Min and Xue Bing could feel acute contempt and hostility contained in that simple word, which greatly surprised both ladies as it was the first ti they could feel such strong negative emotions in the usually lively and carefree Wu ngqi.
Cao i gently placed her hand on Wu ngqi's shoulder, and the shadow brought to her face by the mories of distant past receded, a bright smile reappearing on the face of the beauty.
"Hehe, though I can't say no one paid attention to him even back then", Wu ngqi smiled toward Cao i.
"I am sorry if my question was out of line", Xue Bing bowed toward Wu ngqi who shook both hands in front of her, denying any harm done.
