A red desolate plane, with bloody red skies of a perpetually setting sun.

A series of explosions rang out in a part of the plane, a part that was ravaged by many explosions before it, with charred craters and devastated lands.

"I still don’t understand what you’re trying to achieve here", Fen Baihu sighed, shaking her little fox head while sitting on Wu Long’s shoulder, "You keep repeating these water, wind and lightning explosions - I an it is pretty interesting that water could give such a violent explosion, but after doing it almost a million tis already... and you said yourself that they are not that useful for combat after ascending to Boundless Profound World"

Her tone was of soone who tried to be encouraging, but after seeing him do the sa thing in very subtly different ways over and over and over again, the novelty of this curious phenonon slightly wore off.

"Heh, to be completely honest with you, I am not sure what I’m looking for either", Wu Long chuckled as he started creating another series of vortexes of ocean or sea water that he trapped in spheres of compressed wind to isolate, and passed lightning through.

He was now proficient in creating these ’lightning water’ bombs, fine-tuning the process with wind and experinting with the lightning charges.

As soon as he realized that it wasn’t truly water that exploded but this special invisible gas he previously mistook for simple air - a gas created when lightning passed through water rich with salts and minerals - it beca a very stable and reproducible process for him.

He even tried to separate that gas from normal air completely, but for so reason the power of the explosion went down the more he tried to do it instead, until he succeeded in creating a pure concentration of the gas and it didn’t explode at all, leading him to conclude that the explosion happened when that gas was in contact with normal air at the mont of ignition, but there had to be a right balance of gas concentration and regular air to produce more powerful explosions, as he experinted with how they mixed for maximum effect.

Wu Long continued his reply, partly talking to Fen Baihu and partly seemingly organizing his own thoughts, "It’s true that these are pretty useless for combat since explosive paper talismans can produce similar results and are more versatile in use than these water gas bombs. I an, sure, just as with Steel Hand’s techniques, there is a way to contain and compress and then channel that power more effectively into a single point..."

Several spheres he started creating were now ready for explosions, so he created a similar effect as when manipulating shockwaves with Jin Shenzhi’s fist techniques, to channel explosive power into various shapes and focus it more properly.

"...but that is not why I am continuing to experint. I am doing research", he added, "But mainly, I just can’t forget the feeling from that ti..."

That acute sense of danger when he accidentally ’exploded water’ for the first ti. It felt like there was so kind of reaction, as if he almost unleashed sothing devastatingly powerful.

However, no matter how he tried to replicate that freak accident, he didn’t get that feeling again. And yet, it felt like he stumbled on sothing valuable back then, so he still continued his experints trying to recreate it.

He did so here in his own Mystic Realm because he couldn’t predict how truly or not dangerous what he sought was.

Not to ntion that in here - for now with Fen Baihu’s help, but as he got used to the powers of a Celestial Fox, more and more on his own as well - he could instantly move away to a safe distance or even retreat to a kind of in-between isolated space, from where he could watch the results, so it was safer for him as well.

"Ah, you did say there was sothing special about it~", she nodded, not really sure what he ant since she didn’t perceive anything at the ti, and so she didn’t even have a guess if it warranted using so much ti on these experints. She could only assu it did since Wu Long was so focused on it.

There were periods of ti when he seed to be a bit frustrated with not getting the desired results - it was possible to tell because the amount of ti he spent experinting went down drastically, as he would simply make a couple of explosions and go on with his day.

But then he would find so new inspiration to continue with more experints than usual in other tis, like it was happening now as he was spending a bit more ti on it every day in the early mornings.

New explosions shook the red plain, but were reflected in Wu Long’s eyes full of disappointnt, "Alright, one more ti and that’s it for today’s experints"

He started making more spheres, but as he made the water gas and was experinting with various ways to explode it, concentrating on observing everything in the most minute details, his vision slightly blurred, and then a very vague and fragnted, strange and foreign in its content and format, ’mory’ flowed into his mind, while Fen Baihu was shocked to find out that Wu Long entered a very light trance-like state.

This ti there were no mysterious phenona, and it didn’t even give a feeling of enlightennt, even though it was very close.

It lasted only a couple of minutes, and then his eyes cleared, regaining their focus, and instantly were filled first with shock and a bit of confusion, then inspiration, excitent mixed with a growing ambition, and eventually a storm of thinking as he paused his experints.

Fen Baihu knew that he shouldn’t be disturbed, so she kept silent and unmoving, waiting for him to co out of his reverie.

"I see...", Wu Long finally broke the silence after about an hour passed, his eyes filled with an enlightened look of having finally solved so mystery, "So that’s what it was... no wonder..."

He then turned to Fen Baihu with excited eyes, "I think I can recreate it now, it might take so ti and more attempts, but I have a clue"

"Were you visited by so kind of vision?", she asked curiously.

"It was a tiny part of what Yuanfen gave , that ’mory’ of the World", Wu Long nodded, "Here, you can take a look through my own mory"

As the little fox closed her eyes, part of her consciousness beca focused on perceiving what he was trying to show her.

Her vision turned slightly blurry, and then cold and empty darkness filled her view, with distant lights all around, as she recognized the familiar feeling of the Great Void in between the Worlds.

But the feeling was very weird and awkward, not like she was there, but as if she perceived everything from the perspective of everything that was there as if there was no observer. It was Wu Long who re-envisioned everything into a visual perception for her, sohow reconstructing a perspective of a living being that was ’present’ to witness everything, rather than as he received this ’mory’ - as a formless mass of sensory experience that was incredibly hard to comprehend or interpret.

Then everything blurred as she seed to travel forward in so direction, and then a tiny dot of light far away grew with incredible speed until she realized she was right in front of a red sun, witnessing it pulsing with incredible energy, radiating imnse heat and exploding thousands, millions of tis.

The vision abruptly ended, as she opened her eyes in confusion, "A... a sun?"

It was certainly a fascinating vision, very vivid and lifelike, but she didn’t see how this could be helpful at all.

And she couldn’t be blad, most people wouldn’t see anything in that vision. Or rather, perhaps the only person who could see sothing in it other than a profound feeling of awe at the grand scene, was Wu Long.

At first, he also only saw it for what it was, a vision of a sun.

But as he started analyzing it and concentrating on the details of that vision he began to understand that there was profound knowledge in it, if examined from the right perspective and with the right mindset.

His mind stirred as he realized what a treasure he obtained, and for that hour he spent thinking, Wu Long was focusing all of his mind power completely on this one task.

"It is that explosion, Baihu... the sa thing I was searching for happens countless tis on the surface of every sun, every star in the universe every second, that’s why I recognized sothing", Wu Long chuckled.

"W-... wait... you’re not trying to create a sun, right?", Fen Baihu gulped.

"Hehe, of course not...", he shook his head, but made a pause that made her heart skip a beat, and then added, "...not at this stage... it’s too early for that. For now, I have to at least succeed in creating a single one of those explosions"

"I... don’t really even know how to react to what you said", she sighed, shaking her head, once again realizing, or perhaps reconfirming, that she was in love with a madman for whom the words ’impossible’ and ’unattainable’ were seemingly just a weird combination of sounds.

anwhile, Wu Long was already rethinking his process, his eyes shining with a newfound inspiration.

And within Fen Baihu’s dream realm, through gates leading to a specific garden on Wei Lan’s peak, on top of the tree that created a nestled space for her, Yuanfen smiled in her sleep.
