Lu Huai’an showed no emotional fluctuation at Shen Weiyi’s arrival, not even raising his head.

He continued to flip through the docunts, speaking indifferently, "It’s still early, talk about it later."

Shen Weiyi stood two ters away from the desk. She always dressed elegantly, and even in an office of only black and white, she did not appear out of place.

Regarding Lu Huai’an’s cold attitude, she appeared unaffected, with natural and efficient behavior and speech.

Yet... her hands clasped tightly together, hidden within her lotus-leaf sleeve cuffs.

She pursed her lips slightly, speaking calmly, "Uncle Lu asked to co early to tell you, he wants you to set aside so ti."

She was rely here to relay a ssage.

Five years ago, she already knew why the Lu Family treated her, the daughter of a servant, so differently, but she never revealed it.

If she didn’t say it, Lu Huai’an wouldn’t know that she actually understood, that his so-called ’kindness’ towards her in those past years was due to her mother’s heart.

Laughable, yet tragic.

The lounge door wasn’t completely shut, instead partially ajar, because Lu Huai’an knew Lin Chu was restless in her sleep, often falling from the bed, especially in unfamiliar environnts.

This way he could notice imdiately.

Before Lun Jun and Shen Weiyi ca in, all subordinates reported in the conference room; this office had no other noises.

Though Shen Weiyi spoke softly, Lu Huai’an still issued the guest expulsion order.

"I understand. If there’s nothing else, you should leave, I need to work."

Shen Weiyi did not comply, showing a pale, bitter smile, "Now, you don’t even care to look at , do you?"

She couldn’t imagine what would happen if he knew those things...

People don’t turn bad in an instant.

Her hands stained with blood, each ti night fell, her world would beco engulfed in pungent scarlet.

Only by standing under the spotlight, surrounded by flowers and applause, could she forget the nightmares tornting her.

She beca like this because of Lin Chu.

Everybody in hell was better than her being alone in solitude.

Lu Huai’an finally lifted his gaze towards Shen Weiyi, not far away, his black eyes calm like a silent spring, speaking indifferently, "It’s work ti, I’m busy."

The entire Lu Family was his, no matter how busy he claid to be, it was reasonable.

Shen Weiyi didn’t understand the business matters, nor did she want to.

"Why didn’t you answer my call that night? Didn’t you once say, no matter the ti or place, as long as I needed you, you’d co to help , doesn’t that count anymore?"

Her voice was soft, and though it sounded as always in the ear, clear and cold, it hid disappointnt and self-mockery.

Lu Huai’an’s cold black eyes were unruffled, his words devoid of any emotion, "Lun Jun can handle it, you can directly find him in the future."

Shen Weiyi froze entirely.

Her clasped hands grew tighter, nails digging into tender flesh, leaving deep marks.

Teeth biting her pale lower lip, she stared unblinkingly at the man in the executive chair, her eyes seemingly moist with tears, a piteous appearance.

She thought there was no third person in the office, hence showing such emotion.

If only there were an outsider, she would never allow her pride to bend.

With a slightly hoarse voice, she murmured, "You an, to completely sever relations with ..."

Lu Huai’an’s well-defined features remained indifferent, unmoved by Shen Weiyi’s rare display of vulnerability.

"Even if I went, the one handling matters would be Lun Jun, it’s more efficient if you directly find him."

Shen Weiyi stared at the man’s calm face, painfully pulling out a mocking sneer.

"For Lin Chu? As if soone had scissors and tweezers dissecting her heart, in unbearable pain, "Turns out, you love her so much, even across lifetis you can be relieved."

Why couldn’t it be soone else?

Even if the woman by his side ultimately wasn’t her, Shen Weiyi, it could be other won, as long as it wasn’t Lin Chu, she wouldn’t be so resentful.

The things she did were all jokes.

"Ah!"

The quiet cool atmosphere in the office was broken by this soft gasp.

Before Shen Weiyi could pull herself from the pain, Lu Huai’an, who was originally seated in the black soft chair, quickly stood up.

A rush of wind scraped past her cheek, followed imdiately by the man’s indifferent voice, "You should leave now."

Shen Weiyi’s body was pushed aside, stumbling a couple of steps before steadying herself.
