The best friend was publicly humiliated by the person she liked, and Wanxia was understandably furious.
Although Lu Huai’an wasn’t soone easy to deal with, she had her brother to back her up, coupled with the reckless fearlessness that only cos with that age. Naturally, she was bolder than the average girl. Without thinking twice, she kicked him in the back.
She didn’t say a word, and after kicking him, she chased Lin Chu out of the pool.
As she reached the door, she vaguely heard a "splash," and the anger in her heart subsided a little.
...
Gu Shaozhi was standing by the pool watching the show. After Lu Huai’an stumbled a couple of steps from the kick, he bumped right into him.
So, the person kicked into the pool by Ji Wanxia was not Lu Huai’an at all, but Gu Shaozhi.
The splash of water sprayed onto the faces of those around. About half a minute later, Gu Shaozhi erged from the water, swam to the edge, and wiped the water from around his eyes with his large hand.
Instead of being angry, he laughed, "Which family’s girl is this—quite pretty and with a very tasteful temper."
Lu Huai’an remained emotionless from beginning to end, gave him a faint glance, and said three words with a stoic face, "She’s a minor."
Soone’s backing her up, that’s why she’s so defiant.
"Then forget it," Gu Shaozhi, although young and vigorous, wasn’t about to develop ideas about a girl who wasn’t even eighteen. After getting up from the pool, he took a clean towel and wiped his wet short hair, "It’s getting late, when are we eating?"
A small box bobbing on the water, pushed by the waves Gu Shaozhi caused by falling in, drifted to the corner, looking pitiful and abandoned.
When Lu Huai’an bent down to pick up his phone, his peripheral vision glanced at the corner of the pool without pausing for a second.
He checked the ti and said to Gu Shaozhi, "You go change first, I’ll swim a couple more laps."
"Okay, I’ll wait for you outside," Gu Shaozhi nodded, draped the damp towel around his neck, and strode out of the pool.
With Lu Huai’an’s indifferent gaze sweeping around, whether onshore or the bystanders in the water, everyone seed to snap out of a daze, going back to whatever they were doing, as if nothing had happened here.
The atmosphere was sowhat unusual.
A few minutes later, the students began to leave one by one sensibly, leaving only Lu Huai’an alone in the pool.
After swimming back and forth twice, he seed to be holding his breath in the water, as if wrestling with so invisible inner struggle.
It took a long, long ti before he surfaced and... picked up the gift box floating on the water.

Lin Chu wasn’t soone who cried easily. Even when sad, tears seed lodramatic.
She seed to know that Lu Huai’an wouldn’t chase after her, so after rounding the corner, she slowed her pace, walking while waiting for Wanxia, ntally coaching herself.
The gift wasn’t valuable. If it’s thrown away, it’s thrown away.
That’s right, it was just her wisdom tooth, after all, no big deal.
He couldn’t even be bothered to show he disliked you, not the first ti either. Last year on his birthday, you were turned away at the door. Compared to that, today was much better. Although she didn’t get to feel those tantalizing abs, at least she got a hug.
Yep, not angry.
Saying she’s not angry, but her steps, which had just slowed down, sped up silently. Wanxia, who finally caught up behind her, panted, "Xiao Chu, walk slower, I can’t keep up."
Lin Chu draped herself over her best friend’s shoulder, pouting and lanting, "Lu Huai’an really pisses off!"
Word travels fast, and even faster when it concerns a ’celebrity’ like Lu Huai’an at An University.
Within a few hours, the story would likely spread all over the school: A girl infatuated with Senior Lu barged into the n’s bathroom. After being chased out, she shalessly followed him into the pool, only to have her cake rejected and gift thrown away—quite the hilarious spectacle.
Oh god!
Doesn’t she care about her reputation?
Wanxia was just about to speak when she saw An University’s campus belle, Shen Weiyi, gracefully walking in their direction.
Even though the temperature had cooled significantly after sunset, the belle was still dressed very skimpily.
A simply designed white dress, black hair cascading over her shoulders, beige high heels, two long and straight legs exposed to the cool breeze—it was beauty no matter how you looked at it.
Wanxia raised her hand to nudge Lin Chu, who was theatrically lanting on her shoulder, "In front of your rival, stand up straight and tall. If you cry any louder, I wouldn’t want to admit knowing you."
Rival?
In Lin Chu’s eyes, she had no rivals.
Whether she could beco Mrs. Lu was between her and Lu Huai’an alone.
The man Lin Chu set her sights on was naturally exceptional. It’s normal for others to admire him since none of them were as pretty as she was. The more people who liked Lu Huai’an, the more it proved her excellent taste.
