He glanced at Pea, reached out to take the grape from her hand, clumsily peeled it, and then fed the flesh to Pea.
He did this because he didn’t want his mom to get angry.
After that grape, Pea beca even bolder, not only needing to be fed water but also daring to reach out and touch the little brother’s ear.
Thus, there were these one-sided questions.
"Brother, why don’t you smile?"
"Don’t you like ?"
"This is a toy your aunt gave you, can we play together?"
"Do you like shaved ice cream? I think strawberry flavor is the best."
"Brother, have you been to an amusent park? The carousel is so fun, but I’m too little, so mom and dad won’t let ride it alone."
Those questions were all selectively ignored by Qi Ming, but when Pea ntioned the amusent park, there was a slight light in his eyes, very faint, not obvious.
Pea kept staring at him. Among children, there are always unique signals they can recognize, so she noticed imdiately.
But she was smart and didn’t make Qi Ming feel embarrassed.
She climbed off the chair, waddled over to Wanxia, and blinked her eyes to act coquettishly, "Auntie, I really want to go to the amusent park."
Because she knew that whatever she wanted, her aunt would always satisfy her.
Wanxia was sitting across them, noticing every move of the two little kids, and naturally, she also noticed the fleeting glimr in Qi Ming’s eyes.
Leaning lazily against the back of her chair, she stroked Pea’s cheek, "Really want to go?"
The sun was a bit too hot that day, and being the weekend, an amusent park would be crowded, so she didn’t really want to join the hustle and bustle.
Pea nodded like a pecking chick, "Very much so."
Wanxia picked up the little girl into her arms, smiling gently and coaxing, "Then give Auntie a kiss, and I’ll persuade Aunt Lin to take little brother with you."
As she said this, Qi Ming, who was quietly sitting on the chair waiting for his mom, involuntarily clenched his little hand hidden under the tablecloth, his eyes filled with anticipation.
Pea puckered her lips and gave Wanxia a ’mwah’ on the cheek, her eyes shining brightly as she looked at Wanxia.
Since she had received the ’paynt,’ she couldn’t break her promise, Wanxia helplessly smiled, "Alright, you can go."
Pea was so happy that she danced around, leaned into Qi Ming, and cheerfully asked if he was happy. Though Qi Ming didn’t speak, his attitude had changed.
After all, he was still just a five-year-old child.
Lin Chu, returning from the restroom, happened to see this scene and inwardly sighed that the ’daughter-in-law’ was indeed not ordinary.
"What’s going on?"
Wanxia repeated what Pea wanted.
Lin Chu didn’t object, "Sure, as long as you and An Ge don’t mind soone tagging along."
Wanxia shrugged, "Doesn’t matter."
She called a server over to settle the bill, but the server said that soone had already paid it.
Lin Chu feigned a sigh, "Tsk tsk, Miss Ji has admirers everywhere. Quietly paying the bill without disturbing is truly flirty."
Wanxia couldn’t be bothered to respond.
She politely asked the server, "Who paid the bill, are they still here?"
"Yes," the server nodded, motioning to a spot in the corner behind them, "The gentleman in the white shirt paid."
At that table sat two n.
With his back to them was Lu Huai’an, and facing them was Gu Shaozhi.
As Wanxia followed the server’s direction and looked over, she happened to et the man’s deep and gentle gaze, feeling as if she had traveled through a century.
She didn’t know how long Gu Shaozhi had been sitting there or how long he had been watching her, but at the mont she fell into those unfathomable black eyes, she felt a bit dazed.
Lin Chu noticed it, and so did Pea and Qi Ming.
Pea’s reaction was completely different from the other three, her eyes sparkling brightly as she ran over with a pitter-patter, arms outstretched for a hug.
"Uncle Gu, when did you get here? Have you had lunch? Did you miss ?"
Gu Shaozhi withdrew his gaze and opened his arms to pick up Pea, not minding at all even when her small shoes stepped on his bespoke suit pants.
Patiently answering her questions, "Just got here, had lunch, and missed you very much."
"Auntie and Aunt Lin will take and brother to the amusent park later, Uncle Gu, do you want to join us?"
Gu Shaozhi had already heard when Pea was cozily nestling in Wanxia’s arms pleading.
He smiled warmly, raising his eyes to Wanxia, who was still standing in place, "That depends on your aunt’s intention."
Intelligent Pea then scurried back, asking Wanxia in a milky voice if they could let Uncle Gu co along.
Even though Lu Huai’an was sitting with his back to them, Lin Chu recognized him right away and blandly uttered two words, "Buzzkill."
Her attitude couldn’t be described as dislike.
The light in Qi Ming’s eyes had long since vanished, as he clung to his mother’s hand and softly said, "I don’t want to go."
Pea was stunned, "Why?"
Qi Ming reverted to his initial deanor, silent.
Wanxia glanced at Lin Chu, knowing that since Lu Huai’an was also here, it wouldn’t simply be for passing ti.
Are the CEOs so idle on weekends?
Lin Chu stroked her son’s head soothingly, her expression serene as she told Wanxia, "Of course we’re going; anyway, there’s soone accompanying us. Gu Shaozhi at least looks more pleasant than bodyguards do. Perhaps we can cut through so lines, get fewer queues."
She thought she made a valid point and nodded, "Hmm, it’s quite good."
This conveyed agreent, and Pea joyfully bounced in place, repeatedly calling out ’Brother Lin.’
Lu Huai’an, who had been sitting, stood up and approached their spot, glancing down at the adorably pink Pea and gently corrected, "His surna is Lu."
It was the first ti in four years that Wanxia faced this man face to face, and aside from the depth carved by the years, the dominant and aloof aura remained unchanged.
Dressed in all black, he appeared even more mysterious.
The other party was too tall, and Pea had to crane her neck hard to see his face, shaking her head in confusion, "No, it’s Lin, like in forest."
Her mory was excellent; Aunt Lin had told her so, with no mistake.
Those eyes were too captivating, causing Lu Huai’an to glance twice more unintentionally, "Not Lin, it’s Lu like in land."
Beside him, Lin Chu snorted softly.
How impressive, arguing with a three-year-old kid...
Yet Pea firmly shook her head, not at all intimidated by the man’s aura.
The later-approaching Gu Shaozhi cast a casual glance at Lu Huai’an, picking up the little girl, his voice gentle, "You call him whatever you want, don’t mind him."
Having soone backing her, Pea naturally wouldn’t be cowed, deliberately lifting her chin at Lu Huai’an, "It’s Brother Lin."
Lu Huai’an, "..."
