The receptionist at the Gu Group had not yet recovered from the surprise, staring blankly at the person in front of her, and responded sowhat chanically, "Mr. Gu hasn’t changed offices; he’s still on the thirty-seventh floor."
Wanxia smiled slightly, "Thank you."
Next to the elevator for regular employees was the private elevator for the CEO. Yuan Yi hurried over and pressed the button for the CEO’s elevator, "Miss Ji, this way please."
In the past, whenever Mrs. Gu ca to the company, those with insight would act like Yuan Yi.
Wanxia curled her lips into a smile, "Then I won’t stand on ceremony."
The way was smooth and unobstructed.
There was only one office on the thirty-seventh floor, and even after four years, Wanxia could easily find it.
The desk in the secretary’s outer office was empty. After Wanxia knocked lightly on the door, a deep voice ca from inside, "Co in."
Judging from the voice, the man was probably not in a particularly good mood.
Wanxia pushed the door open, with a smile playing gracefully on her ink-painted brows and eyes, her voice clear and lively, "Mr. Gu, are you busy?"
Secretary Liu, who was reporting work, instinctively looked toward Wanxia, the surprise in her eyes betraying her before she could hide it.
No wonder Mr. Gu’s face had softened a lot after receiving a phone call earlier, which seed as though it was frozen for ages.
So, it was because she ca.
Oh no, now, she’s just Miss Ji.
After a brief deliberation, a decision was quickly made, "Well, Mr. Gu, I’ll be going out now."
Gu Shaozhi’s expression didn’t change, he simply responded with a syllable, "Mm."
Secretary Liu respectfully exited the office, closing the door behind her.
Once the door was shut, the office was silent, devoid of any noise from outside, except for the crisp and lively sound of Wanxia’s high heels on the floor.
Everything here was exactly the sa as four years ago, even the placents of the ornants hadn’t changed.
Wanxia casually glanced around and then turned her gaze back to the man sitting on the black soft chair, asking apologetically, "Am I disturbing you?"
Gu Shaozhi tossed aside the pen in his hand and looked up at the woman standing before the desk, "Weren’t you always like this before?"
The helpless, deep voice carried a noticeable tone of indulgence.
Wanxia blinked innocently, "Everyone has their youthful mistakes; Mr. Gu, don’t hold it against ."
She didn’t want him to ntion the past again, as each mory was incredibly ironic.
Gu Shaozhi stood up, took long strides around the desk, approached the woman, wrapped his arms around her slender waist, and pulled her halfway into his arms.
His dark eyes were as deep as the sea, the corners of his thin lips barely curved, as he slowly asked, "Miss Ji, you ca to see for sothing?"
"Yes," Wanxia laughed lightly, her pale fingers gently touched the man’s Adam’s apple like a dragonfly skimming the water, her almond-shaped eyes sparkling mischievously, "There’s a tiny little request."
He knew why she ca, yet pretended not to know, and she knew he knew, but feigned ignorance of his understanding.
This was an unspoken understanding reached between them.
The word ’transaction’ was, after all, sowhat unpleasant.
Gu Shaozhi lowered his head, a low, soft laugh escaping from his throat, his gaze like a torch, as he slowly leaned toward her lips, his voice low, "I’m very busy lately. If Miss Ji could offer a down paynt, I might consider taking the ti to help you with it, hmm?"
The rising inflection at the end of the sentence carried a sense of temptation.
The air conditioning blew cold air against Wanxia’s back, yet in front of her was the man’s scorching body heat, two entirely different temperatures.
The clear mint scent mixed with a faint tobacco sll lingered in the air, like a net enclosing her within.
"For others, it might indeed be a bit difficult, but not for Mr. Gu," she smiled lightly, her arms, pale as lotus roots, easily curling around the man’s shoulder, "It’s just a word, really simple."
The woman’s vermillion lips parted and closed, inviting endless wild thoughts, her watery, charming eyes captivating the soul.
It was Gu Shaozhi who intentionally tempted her, yet ultimately, it was Gu Shaozhi who was seduced.
He tightened his arms around her slender waist, applied so force, and lifted her to sit on the desk, his deep and warm voice tinged with a slight hoarseness, "Tell about it."
Even as she leaned partially into his embrace, Wanxia’s body remained soft because he only held her waist, not moving improperly.
Her brows and eyes were clear and captivating, "This little girl can only take so photos, lacks any remarkable skills otherwise, and finds it hard to sustain herself, so I thought of learning a new skill."
