"If you ’accidentally’ swing by one more ti, you might just beco one of my rare exceptions," said Mu Jin Huan, his tone flat but carrying a chilling warning. "Anyway, you’re fearless, so if you’re curious, give it a try."

Stunned, Huo Ran glanced at Nan Wan, who was watching the scene with great interest. Only after seeing the playful look in Nan Wan’s eyes did she snap back to reality.

This Mr. Mu was obviously trying to provoke her!

"Bring it on then. If you dare, don’t hide from !" Huo Ancestor, a highly ranked elder of the Huo Family, wasn’t one to be scared easily. She fearlessly tilted her chin at Mu Jin Huan.

Then, she lowered her arms from her chest, tidied her windblown hair, and adjusted her shirt cuffs.

Feeling like she was ladylike to the point of explosion and could outshine any little seductress, Huo Ran turned to Nan Wan with a ’polite’ smile.

"Auntie, when are you free for a duel on Mount Hua? If you lose, you give the handso guy; if I lose, I’ll walk away. Deal?"

Her tone was sweetly negotiating.

Nan Wan, being directly addressed, couldn’t remain a bystander enjoying the show.

Huo Ran was there with a group of friends, and although none of them joined the scene, they all diverted their attention to Nan Wan, seemingly waiting to see how she would respond.

If only they could have so sunflower seeds and a beer, it would be perfect.

Even Mu Jin Huan, after Huo Ran’s words, glanced down at Nan Wan, his deep eyes filled with a gentle indulgence, as if he was quite interested in seeing how she’d fire back.

Nan Wan tilted her head, seemingly deep in thought.

A few seconds later, she shook her head and spoke, "I’m afraid not."

"Why not?" Huo Ancestor wasn’t pleased, her almost frozen smile collapsing. "Are you feeling inferior because your opponent is not only young and beautiful but also, shall we say, well-endowed? Why so scared before it even starts?"

Successfully saying this without biting her tongue, she felt relieved.

After all, tonight was quite unusual. If such possibly lightning-attracting words were heard by God, it wouldn’t be too good.

"It’s not for any of those reasons," Nan i Ren softly leaned into the man’s embrace, blinking a little, bashfully.

By now, the number of passersby on the mountain path had dwindled, and only those stopping to watch lingered, with no one daring to walk cautiously past Mr. Mu’s left side.

After a mont of difficult hesitation, Nan i Ren raised her eyes to et Mr. Mu’s amused gaze.

Her delicate features broke into a light, subtle smile, "Mr. Mu, at his age, well, his needs are a bit, shall we say, vigorous. Eight tis a night without missing a beat. I’m really not up for dueling with you, kid."

Those words were, to say the least, impressive.

Huo Ran’s friends, who were watching the scene, were left utterly stunned, their jaws dropping and needing mutual support to avoid hitting their feet.

Even Mu Jin Huan, usually unfazed by any major upheaval, had a few seconds of ntal blankness.

Coming back to his senses, the corners of his thin lips curled into a aningful arc, and the affection in his deep eyes could almost drown soone.

Huo Ran awkwardly moved her stiffened jaw, supporting herself with the railing, and glanced at a certain part of Mu Jin Huan.

Incredibly sincerely, she suggested, "Handso guy, promise , take good care of your kidneys, okay?"

...

When the two reached a slightly flat observation area at the mountain top, Nan Wan could still vaguely hear the sounds of boys and girls who had skipped class to join the fun, whistling and teasing Huo Ran behind them.

There was wind on the mountain, making the temperature a bit lower than in the city.

Mu Jin Huan took off his suit jacket and draped it over Nan Wan. She didn’t awkwardly decline but looked at him with a bright smile.

She deliberately stretched her tone, "Mr. Mu, it seems you haven’t been idle lately."

Honestly, she quite admired such bold and straightforward young girls.

Mu Jin Huan’s eyes showed a lingering smile of helplessness, and under the dim streetlights, his distinct features appeared particularly gentle.

Calm and composed, he responded, "I’ve been busy ’exercising,’ of course I haven’t been idle."

The word "exercising" required deeper interpretation.

"Whose girl is she?" Nan Wan, being held by the man as they walked forward, asked with a knowing smile. "Don’t tell she’s Huo Yihan’s new fla, and out of brotherly love, you’re reluctant to break her heart."
