Turning his body over again, he took the phone from Aunt Zhou’s hand, still nestled in the blanket.
After Aunt Zhou left and closed the door, he placed the phone to his ear but didn’t speak first.
About a minute later, the man’s deep voice sounded through the wireless waves at his ear, "Awake?"
Nan Wan replied softly, "Mm."
Mu Jin Huan ignored the surprised glances and walked out of the eting room, his handso face deeply defined yet gentle.
He seed to imagine her like a noble cat, lazily curled up in the covers, feeling a tenderness in his heart, "I’ve already taken leave for you. You don’t need to go to the hospital these days, just rest at ho."
Nan Wan’s exquisite and beautiful eyebrows were exceedingly calm, "Mm."
His long legs did not stop as he headed toward the president’s office, "I’ll co back early tonight, wait for to have dinner together."
Nan Wan simply placed the phone from her ear onto the pillow and turned on the speakerphone, "Mm."
This "Mm" was drawn out long, clearly showing she was starting to get impatient.
Pushing open the office door, Mu Jin Huan curled his lips, his voice growing even more low and lodious, "Are you very angry?"
Closing her eyes, "Mm."
"You don’t really want to talk to either?"
Nan Wan began to take deep breaths, "Mm."
The response from start to finish was just one word, only the tone differed. Yet, the curve of Mu Jin Huan’s lips beca more pronounced, and even his unfathomable eyes were tinged with a hint of laughter, "What do I do then? Right now, I seem to miss you quite a bit."
At such tis, flowery words only made Nan Wan feel more agitated, but with her personality, the angrier she was, the calr she appeared.
Likewise, the more agitated she felt, the more relaxed she behaved, twirling a strand of long hair around her finger, her warm soft voice carried a lazy smile, "Then put down your work and co back to accompany ."
Finally, it was not just a single syllable.
Standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, Mu Jin Huan’s tall, graceful figure basked in the soft sunlight, a faint smile lingering between his brows, "If I don’t work, how will I support you?"
Nan Wan lifted the covers, took the phone off speaker, and brought it to her ear.
Getting up, off the bed.
"I have my own job, I don’t need you to support ."
Mu Jin Huan chuckled, "You do have a job, but do you have a salary?"
Nan Wan, "..."
Was the fact that her salary was withheld until next June known to everyone?
Her throat felt a bit sore, she walked to the table wanting to pour a cup of water, but the kettle was empty.
She closed her eyes and gathered her loose long hair to one side with a raised hand, stepping out of the bedroom, "Do you have anything else? If not, I’ll hang up. I might not have a salary, but I still don’t want to be supported by soone, so I need to save on phone bills."
Mu Jin Huan’s gaze settled on the endless high-rise buildings, a gentle and indulgent sentint coexisting in his deep black eyes, "Since you’re awake, go downstairs to eat. I’ve asked Aunt Zhou to make so soup for you. If you don’t finish it, I’ll co again in the evening."
Hearing this, Nan Wan paused in her steps, her ears imdiately burning with heat, the blush spreading down to her neck.
A few seconds later, she directly hung up the phone.
Listening to the busy tone in his ear, the curve of Mu Jin Huan’s lips did not drop for a long ti.
When Secretary Tang knocked on the door, she was extraordinarily relaxed because... the boss’s mood today was bright, compared to yesterday, it was like the difference between hell and heaven.
After getting permission, she pushed the office door open and asked, "President Mu, should the eting continue?"
Mu Jin Huan put away his phone, turned around, his face regaining its usual calmness, "Continue."
The emotions in his eyes were concealed too quickly for Secretary Tang to catch anything, yet she felt that there seed to be sothing more in that deep voice than usual.
Secretary Tang didn’t know exactly what was more, but she knew there was likely only one person who could easily affect President Mu’s mood.
She respectfully replied, "Okay then."
Then she exited the office and walked towards the eting room.
In the past few months, unless sothing ca up, President Mu had always arrived at the company precisely on ti. As his senior personal secretary, she knew his schedule and ti arrangents better than anyone.
However, today was shockingly the first ti he was late, and precisely late by two hours. But that wasn’t all, what surprised her more was that in the middle of the eting, when soone was still reporting work, President Mu made a phone call.
He wore a Bluetooth headset, said a few simple words, but didn’t hang up nor continue talking.
After about five minutes, while still taking eting notes, she heard a low laugh, and then, President Mu, who had been sitting in the soft chair, got up and walked out of the eting room, leaving a group of bewildered people, herself included.
