Mu Jin Huan withdrew his gaze, his voice calm, "Driving at night isn’t safe, just stay here."

Upon hearing this, Nan Wan stood up, spreading out the blankets that were stacked together and covered the man, "Then you sleep for a while. I’ll go to the pharmacy to get the dicine and co back to accompany you."

"Get it tomorrow."

Nan Wan paused, not insisting, "Alright then, you sleep. I got enough rest in the first half of the night, I’ll go sit on the sofa for a while, call if you feel thirsty."

Mu Jin Huan reached out for the second ti, grabbing her wrist, this ti with much more strength than before, "The bed is big enough for two people."

Nan Wan could feel the man’s grip on her wrist; if she tried to pull away, the wound would definitely tear.

Her foot that had stepped out was pulled back, and she moved closer to the hospital bed to avoid pulling at his wound, "I can’t sleep, tossing and turning will touch your wound."

Mu Jin Huan looked up at her and said two words, "It won’t."

Nan Wan did not agree, and Mu Jin Huan didn’t let go either, not easing his grip in the slightest.

After a few seconds of tension, it was Nan Wan who inevitably compromised in the end.

"Let go of , I’ll take off my coat, I accidentally got so dirt on it while eting colleagues from the lab in the elevator."

The hospital room had heating, the temperature wasn’t low, but could hardly be called warm.

Mu Jin Huan eased his grip, reached with his uninjured hand for the remote on the table, and adjusted the heating to a higher temperature.

Nan Wan placed her down jacket on the sofa, then walked back to the bedside, took off her shoes, and lay down.

Mu Jin Huan’s right hand was injured, so he left space for Nan Wan on the right side.

Nan Wan lay sideways with her back to the man, trying to move her body forward to leave more space between them.

When she felt this was the limit, she stopped moving, and just as she closed her eyes, a force pulled her back.

Her back was pressed tightly against the man’s chest, she opened her eyes, and before she could move, a slightly hushed voice sounded in her ear, "Do you want to fall off?"

He used his left hand, so Nan Wan had no worries, directly pulling away the arm resting on her waist, "I shouldn’t sleep that deeply."

However, just as she was about to move an inch away, Mu Jin Huan shifted and pressed on top, halting all her movents.

The black suit jacket that had been draped over his shoulder fell to the floor, and he made no move to pick it up.

His dark eyes locked tightly onto the woman’s face, not wanting to miss any emotion, his voice hoarse, "Are you angry?"

His breath, tainted with alcohol, fell entirely upon her skin, the man’s heavy body making Nan Wan uncomfortable, her beautiful brows furrowing as she turned her head slightly and said calmly, "Then you probably haven’t seen when I’m angry."

The woman beneath him finally showed so emotional fluctuation, but clearly not because of anything else, rather due to difficulty breathing.

Mu Jin Huan propped his left elbow on the bed, no longer pressing all his weight onto her, the darkness in his black eyes growing heavier, "Look at when you’re speaking."

Nan Wan closed her eyes, her whole body immobilized by him, unwilling to move.

Her gaze lightly fell on the floor, "Mu Jin Huan, you’re a grown man, there’s no point in being unreasonable."

The man, accustod to assertiveness, remained as forceful despite his injuries.

Mu Jin Huan didn’t care whether he’d aggravate his wound, grabbing the woman’s chin to make her turn her head straight.

The darkness in his eyes slowly seeped out, speaking slowly, "I’ve had too much to drink."

Nan Wan didn’t avoid his gaze, her look was calm and her voice devoid of waves, "Then sleep if you’ve drunk too much."

Like a placid lake, without wind, not even a ripple would appear.

Mu Jin Huan stared into the woman’s eyes, the force on her chin growing heavier, "Wanwan, if you’re angry, just tell , okay?"

Perhaps it was the alcohol, but Nan Wan felt that the man so close was completely unfamiliar. If she couldn’t see him with her own eyes, she’d think the person pressed against her wasn’t him at all.

"What could I be angry about?" Nan Wan laughed gently, changing her question, "What do you want to be angry about?"

Yu Qinglu kept saying not to misunderstand, but which of her actions were those of ordinary friends?

Was she angry he drank and recklessly drove to play hero? Or was she angry he gave her such an unforgettable wedding night?

Tomorrow, everyone in the hospital would know that her husband didn’t return ho on their wedding night, but brought another woman to the hospital...

Another joke would be added to her collection.

Mu Jin Huan looked at that laughter that didn’t reach her eyes, the frustration buried in his heart seed ignited by alcohol, crashing within him without any outlet for release.
