Chapter 271: Chapter 271: You… Can’t… Do It?!
Bo Tingshen looked at the young man who just monts ago couldn’t be beaten, now as pitiful as a small animal that had been bullied, and released his grip. “Where’s Pang Kai?”
Ye Xian rubbed her sore wrist. You finally rembered him!
“Assistant Pang said there’s an urgent case at the company that he needs to deal with. He’ll be back shortly. CEO, why don’t I head back first, and you wait for him here for a bit?”
Ye Xian asked, then felt that the atmosphere was a bit off…
“As an exemplary employee, how can I let you, the CEO, wait here alone? Of course, I’ll stay with you! CEO, shall we go get sothing to eat?”
“You’re hungry again?”
The use of the word ‘again’ was quite telling; Ye Xian even questioned herself—had she eaten sothing already?
“Then, shall we get so exercise? I see there’s a sports field nearby.”
“Let’s not, there’s a bowling alley ahead.”
“Bowling?” Ye Xian hesitated.
“What, you don’t know how?”
“Mhm, mhm!”
Ye Xian nodded honestly.
Bo Tingshen: “What do you know?”
Ye Xian, who had studied micro-expressions and tones for years, recognized imdiately that his question wasn’t one of curiosity, but of disdain.
“It’s pretty normal I don’t know bowling, bowling bowling, as the na suggests, it’s sothing middle-aged and old people enjoy. A young guy like …”
Ye Xian stopped mid-sentence, as Bo Tingshen turned to look at her. She changed tack, “I can’t because I’m not skillful!” Bah, domineering ghost, it’s clear it’s because he’s old! Only old people play bowling!
Once they arrived at the bowling alley, the waiter ca over holding two hard rubber balls.
The way to play bowling was in so aspects simple yet in others difficult.
Simple because it didn’t require much physical strength or any complex maneuvers, just a light toss of the rubber ball down the lane to strike the pins.
Difficult because of the way you hold the ball, the throwing posture, and the brain’s calculation of the ball’s speed. It’s easy to throw the ball, but whether or not it will follow the lane smoothly, and how many pins it knocks down at the end—that’s hard to say. So compared to other ball sports, it’s less a physical activity and more of a ntal one.
“Mr. Bo.”
The waiter handed the rubber ball to Bo Tingshen.
Ye Xian stepped back slightly to observe his throw.
The man held the ball in his right hand, thumb inserted into the hole, with his middle and ring fingers up to the second knuckle, cradling the ball to his chest, centering it carefully, focusing, and then releasing the ball with a gentle push.
The stance was pretty cool, but how effective it would be…
“Bang—”
The rubber ball rolled straight down the lane, the crisp sound of impact followed, and all ten pins were struck down, not one left standing.
“Wow—”
The clapping and cheering of a dozen brown-nosing waiters echoed throughout the bowling alley.
Ye Xian: “…” My face hurts today.
The waiter reset the pins and offered another rubber ball.
Bo Tingshen turned and tossed it to her; Ye Xian caught it with a start, “What’s the matter, CEO?”
“Co and give it a try.”
“Maybe not, I don’t know how—”
Bo Tingshen gestured towards the release point, “You can’t do it?”
You… can’t… do it?! How can a man be told he can’t do it!
She was already seen as a weakling in his eyes, it was just a simple ga of bowling, she couldn’t be seen as a letdown!
Ye Xian: “Of course I can!”
She mimicked the way he had held the ball, stood before the foul line, and eyed the pins so ten ters away. So many of them, she should manage to knock over one or two, right? It would be super embarrassing if she didn’t knock any over or if the ball veered off course before reaching the end…
