A day before, in the prison of the Vaise mansion.

’Big brother...’

Siris sat in a corner, recalling the words that had struck her the most.

She didn’t know why, but when she heard Raven call himself her brother, she felt warm.

It was a strange and foreign feeling for her, who hadn’t felt anything other than cold, but it wasn’t bad.

She could rember how she had lived until now.

Everything was colorless, and she felt trapped in her own body.

All she recalled was pain and more pain.

A man wearing glasses would subject her to things that always gave her pain.

But she couldn’t understand what she had to do to break free.

She couldn’t even think.

All she did was kill, kill, and kill.

No matter who ca close to her, she thought they would do sothing to her, and she would try to kill them—

—Until she t him.

’Raven...’

She muttered his na, as that was the only na she could rember.

Siris didn’t even know her own na.

But she recalled Raven’s na.

Why?

Because her world turned colorful after eting him.

He had moved toward her in the arena, making her think he would attack, but sothing happened just then.

She froze in her spot as Raven did sothing to her; simultaneously, sothing inside her cracked.

She didn’t know what it was, but the colorless world she always saw turned colorful.

Then she heard him call himself her big brother, bringing warmth to her heart, which she didn’t even know existed.

He had said that he would co to rescue her in the night, but she didn’t even know what rescue ant.

She just kept feeling the warmth in her heart while also wondering who or what she was.

She had never known her life would change so much on that day.

It started when she heard a click from the door she was locked behind.

She didn’t know what was happening until she heard a voice.

"Hey, fancy seeing you here."

’Raven!’

She had known it was him when she had heard that voice.

It was him. There was no doubt.

"Big Brother! Raven!"

Inadvertently, she had started calling out to him.

She hadn’t known how he was there or what he was doing, but she wondered if this was what he ant when he said he would rescue her.

She heard loud noises from the outside, muffling her calls to Raven.

She had tried yelling out to him for so more ti, but knowing that her words weren’t reaching Raven, she had gone quiet, waiting patiently for him to open the door.

After a long ti, when she started to feel uneasy, the door opened, her eyes gleaming with happiness, only to see a man carrying Raven on his shoulder, opening the door.

Looking at Raven’s situation, all bloodied and unconscious, she had tried to rush forward, wanting to kill the man, only to be hit by pressure strong enough to flatten her on the ground.

She had known that she would die if she tried to move.

Even now, sitting in the Vaise family’s prison, she trembled when she recalled the pressure.

But just then—

’Hmm~!’

A lodic hum echoed in her head, giving her a mini heart attack.

’Why did I wake up so early—?’ The voice continued but paused before it could complete its words.

’Huh...’

Siris could feel the voice’s emotions; right now, it was shocked.

’Girl, who unlocked your soul?’

The voice talked to her for the first ti, and she didn’t know why, but she answered the question without hesitation.

"...Raven."

The voice didn’t seem to an any harm to her; rather, it felt familiar, sothing she found very strange.

’Hm... it was a guy?’ The voice questioned again, and Siris nodded in response, making the spirit let out a heavy sigh.

’This is all ssed up now...’

"What do you an?" Siris asked, her voice low as this was her first ti trying to talk to soone. "And... who are you?"

The voice didn’t say anything for a while before it did.

’I’m... a spirit. Let’s go with that for now. To know more, you need to be stronger.’

Siris, on the other hand, tilted her head.

’What is a... spirit? And what is ssed up now?’

The spirit in Siris’s head sighed, realizing the girl’s condition.

Siris didn’t even rember her na, much less who she was or what she was supposed to do, so the spirit patiently tried to explain it to her briefly.

’A spirit is a... spirit. You can think of as another soul in your body.’

The spirit paused, and seeing Siris nod, she went ahead and answered the other question.

’As for what’s ssed up... let’s say you were a princess and you were supposed to be saved by a prince in shining armor, but instead, you were saved by so beggar, and now, that beggar needs to take up the role of the prince in shining armor.’

Siris didn’t understand anything—the spirit could tell.

There were literally question marks floating above Siris’s head.

’Well, in simple terms, Raven, the guy who shook your soul with so kind of weak soul attack, awakened your real consciousness, fulfilling the condition required to beco your husband.’

"Husband?" Siris frowned. "What is that?"

The spirit was probably pulling her hair as she realized Siris didn’t have common sense.

’This is what happens when an amateur does sothing the Spirit King was supposed to do!’

Siris heard the spirit roar in her head, but her mind was fixed on the earlier word.

"What is a husband?" She asked again, which was followed by a sigh from the spirit.

’A husband is soone you are supposed to love your life with.’

For so reason, the spirit was patiently answering every question Siris asked, despite feeling frustrated.

"So, big brother is now husband?" Siris tilted her head again, liking the sound of the word husband more than big brother.

’Yes. You can say that.’

Siris didn’t know what was happening.

She didn’t even know that an ancient contract that bound even the spirit king was broken today; all she cared about was that she now had a husband.

Fortunately or unfortunately, Raven, the guy she had been thinking about, beca her husband.

Poor Raven didn’t even know what he had done.

He never knew Siris had a secret as deep as this.

After all, in the main plot, Siris never got to awaken her soul—or at least that was shown in the plot.

On the other hand, Siris kept asking the spirit as many questions as she could.

She was like a newborn baby; she wanted to know everything.

The whole day and night, the spirit kept answering the girl, letting her curiosity subside, only to realize that Siris could keep asking questions without sleep.

Even when they were walking on the carpet, being led toward the Patriarch, Siris kept talking to the Spirit.

The only difference was that now, she was talking in her mind.

However, soon, the Spirit inford Siris of the people before her, saying that the people on the thrones were quite strong, even from her perspective.

But Siris, after finally raising her head, didn’t even look at the Patriarchs or the Matriarch.

When she looked up, she saw Raven, and her gaze paused on him.

Recalling everything she had found about a husband and wife from the Spirit, a small smile inadvertently marred her face.

"...husband," she said, her tone soft.

’This is how I am supposed to greet him, right?’ She asked inwardly, her voice more fluent now.

The Spirit, however, didn’t know what to say.

’Um... I don’t think this was the right ti to say that...’

After all, unlike Siris, who had no idea how the world worked, the Spirit could sohow make out the situation, especially when she heard about what had happened from Siris.

’That boy...’ Looking at Raven, who was frozen in his spot, a dumbfounded expression on his face as if saying, ’What the hell is she on about?’, she sighed. ’He made the wrong girl fall for him.’
