Chapter 767: Chapter 771: False Heaven (Part 1)

Zhu Minglang placed them on a surviving stretch of land; although the land was heavily scarred, it provided enough ground to set foot upon.

Turning around, he left the area. Zhu Minglang was now aimlessly andering when the soft cries of the Nuwa Dragon ca from within the Spirit Realm, sounding like a pear blossom bathed in rain, unceasing.

Such a scene seed to remind her of the past.

“Mr. Jinli, don’t you find sothing very strange here?” Zhu Minglang suddenly spoke up.

Mr. Jinli had already sneaked into a cute and headless state. It widened its fish eyes, about to speak, when Zhu Minglang stole the words right from its mouth.

At this point, whatever Mr. Jinli would say, colored by its old wisdom, seed unappealing to Zhu Minglang’s ears!

“The Spirit Root, where has the Spirit Root of this world gone?” Zhu Minglang said to Mr. Jinli, but it was also a question he posed to himself.

As the heaven and earth squeezed together, countless creatures perished. According to the original laws of Dragon Gate, those extinguished lives should have transford into Spirit Root, drifting in the expanse of heaven and earth, slowly settling over long years, eventually returning to the soil.

Yet, with so many lost wanderers, so many Ancient Beasts and Demon Gods, and nurous Divine Chosen and Gods having perished, Zhu Minglang felt hardly any presence of Spirit Root while he was rescuing survivors.

With these doubts in mind, Zhu Minglang paid special attention to so dying lives.

In a forest riddled with gaping wounds, Zhu Minglang saw a Demon God sliced in half at the waist.

Barely alive, the Demon God tried to heal its severe wounds by absorbing the Spirit Root, but instead, the Spirit Root in the world around it had beco increasingly thin.

It died soon after, and Zhu Minglang did not rush to seize its Spirit Root. Instead, he used his own will to track this wispy Demon God’s Spirit Root in the air, wanting to know whether the Spirit Root of the extinguished creatures dissipated on its own, or drifted sowhere else.

The Spirit Root of the Demon God did not disperse—it moved like a wisp of smoke that would not vanish, slowly rising into the sky.

Zhu Minglang followed it, discovering that the Spirit Root was drawn by so force, not just drifting aimlessly.

Interestingly, during the pursuit of this Spirit Root, Zhu Minglang also encountered several other streams of Spirit Root, belonging to Ancient Beasts that had been slain by the Wind Blade of Chaos not long ago, originating from the nearby land.

As Zhu Minglang ascended even higher, almost touching the Sky Do, he suddenly realized that the Spirit Roots from the Dragon Gate land were all drifting towards one specific place!

It was as if a myriad of streams had finally converged into a vast river!

The river of Spirit Roots continued to flow towards a higher point in the Sky Do. Zhu Minglang was like a person chasing after floating leaves to discover the end of a stream, following the Demon God’s Spirit Root on and on.

They passed through a stretch of the Void that was not particularly surprising—devoid of any celestial bodies or continents, and hardly any cosmic dust could be seen. It was clean, yet also carried a sense of vagueness.

Zhu Minglang did not continue this ti.

Having reached the ethereal space, what lay ahead was the boundless cosmos, and it seed that the Spirit Roots might have scattered to distant lands, bestowing themselves upon unknown creatures that he could never possibly encounter.

However, just as Zhu Minglang turned to leave, a hand suddenly appeared in the Space Do he had mistaken for the distant cosmos, parting it like curtain windows, and then an eye was revealed!!

This eye, if viewed from a great distance, could be mistaken for a dazzling sun, but from Zhu Minglang’s position, he could clearly see the eyeball moving, even the socket of the eye!

All of the Spirit Root was drifting into the parting of this Space Do curtain; this scene truly shook Zhu Minglang to his core!

This feeling was as if the sky that people thought was unreachably high was nothing more than a giant birdcage cloth for beings from a higher plane!

Zhu Minglang rembered that as a child he had seen an old man who kept birds.

He had a birdcage as tall as a house, into which he placed batches of newly hatched birds to raise. Birds naturally yearn to soar, and once they realized they were living in the confines of a narrow cage, they might take extre asures to end their lives prematurely.

So, the bird-keeping old man took a piece of blue light-transmitting fabric and covered the tal sh of the cage, also shielding any view of the outside world from the birds.

“This way, the birds will think this cage is the sky, and I can raise them to be big and plump. They will still sing cheerfully every day…”

Zhu Minglang still rembered this statent from the bird-keeping old man.

The ignorance and stupidity of the birds made Zhu Minglang find the situation particularly funny at that ti, and more importantly, the old man indeed raised a batch of very beautiful birds, which he sold to the rich and powerful.

However, having witnessed the “sky do” being pried open by so “person,” creating a slit in the sky, and this person peering into this world, Zhu Minglang felt as if his head had exploded with a bang!!

A severe chill coursed through his entire body!!

It was not only the fear of the “eyeball’s” master but also a sense of horror and disbelief at the very structure of this world!!

Thus, the sky that seed so unattainable to people was rely a piece of fabric covering a birdcage!

The eyeball that inspected Dragon Gate seed to have noticed Zhu Minglang, but it revealed a mocking sneer!

It blinked, drawing the Spirit Root of all the living beings within Dragon Gate into this slit in the Space Do that it had pried open.

The Spirit Root, like a vast river, so copious that it could give rise to countless existences of God King Level, was completely taken away by the master of the sky do eyeball!!

For a mont, Zhu Minglang, in the mocking gaze of the eyeball, made a confirmation—the chief culprit behind the fusion of Heaven and Earth was none other than it!!

What punishnt from the heavens, what will of the heavens, was still nothing more than a conspiracy and a ga set up by so higher existence to manipulate the beings of the Lower Realm!

The river-like Spirit Root was greedily sucked away.

As Zhu Minglang witnessed it all, his mind couldn’t stop conjuring up the horrific scenes caused by the fusion of Heaven and Earth, the scenes of extinction…

The originally orderly Dragon Gate was suddenly crushed into hell, with gathering souls forming clouds that obscured the sky. Flesh and blood were squeezed into a sea of scarlet…

If this mocking master of the eyeball truly represented the heavens, Zhu Minglang wished he could also slaughter these heavens!!

“As I said, Dragon Gate has Nine Heavens; this place is rely the first of them,” Mr. Jinli regained so of his senses at that mont and said in a calm tone.

Having already set foot on the path to godhood, Zhu Minglang had to get used to the idea that gods could also be savagely unrestrained, cruel beyond asure, and that there were gods who treated everything as their own personal ga!
