Chapter 1247: Chapter 1251: Little Chongling

Although he had experienced it several tis, Zhu Minglang had never ventured to the very bottom of the Path of Living Wood.

Zhu Minglang slid straight down this lengthy path, and truth be told, the experience was quite unique.

Trees swiftly passed by on either side, and Zhu Minglang felt his speed increasing, this was probably the first ti this path encountered a living person.

The path was longer than he had imagined, and along the way, Zhu Minglang saw many bodies discarded in the forest.

After a long while, Zhu Minglang finally reached the end of the path.

The endpoint was a vast collapsed mountain filled with bodies accumulated over the years, almost forming a small mountain of corpses, surrounded by extensive white bones.

It was hard to imagine such a place with green mountains and clear waters actually having a mountain pit filled with bones.

This place likely hadn’t been visited by anyone in many years, and the scene was unexpectedly frightening. If outsiders saw how the Young Spirit Court dealt with the bodies of the Juvenile Spirits like dumping trash, their glorious image maintained over the years across the Divine Land would be ruined instantly.

The Young Spirit Court is spread throughout Jun Tian, and this Li Prefecture’s Young Spirit Court is not the largest one. Considering the overall institution, it is a relatively open organization, indeed aiming for the survival and dignity of living beings.

It seems that the problem lies with the head of the Li Prefecture Young Spirit Court, Bai Qingchen, for creating this terrifying pit of corpses here.

Alas, holding a position but only thinking about climbing the ladder.

Zhu Minglang jumped down into the pit, searching among the sea of corpses for the faint traces of sensation.

The night was dark and windy, cold and whistling, Zhu Minglang faintly perceived sothing sinister.

It was unclear whether the noise was from the decay of dry bones or if sothing in the Juvenile Spirit corpse pile was indeed gnawing on the remaining flesh. Zhu Minglang looked back several tis but discovered nothing.

The surroundings were too dim, the feeble starlight seed to be swallowed by the deathly aura of the pit. The mix of decay and mountain fog made it difficult to see the path ahead.

“Squeak, squeak, squeak~~~~”

The sound of rats erged. Zhu Minglang noticed that the rats here were unusually large and fat, almost the size of small wild boars.

Among them, one rat emitted a demonic aura with a certain cultivation base, already becoming a spirit. It was staring straight at Zhu Minglang, seemingly contemplating whether to pounce but the rat spirit’s innate caution had it barely miss death.

“Even the rats are fattened up by the stench!” Zhu Minglang shook his head.

Although it was a pile of corpses, this was a pit for Juvenile Spirits. Juvenile Spirits are nad so because they possess more spirituality and characteristics than the savage animals, being a reserve army for dragon transformation. Even if they ultimately failed to transform into dragons, they are still considered special lifeforms. Their bodies piled up here, evidently fattened up so creatures that thrive on corpses!

“Crunch, crack!!”

Suddenly, Zhu Minglang sensed a noise behind him!

Zhu Minglang imdiately turned around and saw a Corpse Dog Dragon pounce towards him, its entire body covered in rotting flesh, its claws laced with poison, and in its hollow eye sockets burned a green fiery eyeball, utterly horrifying!

Zhu Minglang was stunned for a mont, not expecting a dragon-ford lifeform to be here!

A wild Corpse Dog Dragon!

Purely because it was nurtured in such a “favored by heaven” environnt!

Zhu Minglang was about to let the Nine-tailed Dragon strike, when suddenly, from a bone mountain beside him, a Death Spirit Lifeform the size of an adult male lion burst out and charged over fiercely.

Initially, Zhu Minglang thought he was being ambushed by two Corpse Spirit Dragons, but soon he realized the Death Spirit Dragon that erged from behind was actually pouncing towards the Corpse Dog Dragon.

It flashed past Zhu Minglang and bit the Corpse Dog Dragon with impeccable accuracy, then ferociously smashed it against the stone wall.

The Corpse Dog Dragon was smashed to pieces, but being a corpse, its scattered parts could still move.

Its parts fled separately, then reassembled. Missing a piece just ant it wasn’t fated to be there; it would find another piece to fit together and beco a complete Corpse Dragon again!

The Corpse Dog Dragon tried to escape in all directions, but the Death Spirit Dragon was faster. It ran to the vicinity of the Corpse Dog Dragon and suddenly unfolded its back, where countless green whiskers spread out, resembling a set of soft, ethereal wings made up of a multitude of green whiskers, opening in all directions like a very bizarre Nether King Flower!!

These wing whiskers had the power to drain, and once spread, they began draining the soul of the Corpse Dog Dragon.

Due to the soul energy being sucked away, the divided body of the Corpse Dog Dragon quickly turned into grains of Bone Sand.

Soon, the entire Corpse Dog Dragon had turned to dust!

The Death Spirit Dragon then slowly retracted its gorgeous Nether Floral Wing Whiskers, and its back returned to its original state.

“Wuu wuu!!”

The Little Jiuwei Dragon let out a warning sound, signaling the Death Spirit Dragon not to co any closer.

But the Death Spirit Dragon kept stepping towards Zhu Minglang, and at this mont, Zhu Minglang realized that those faint soul imprints were actually coming from this extrely unique Death Spirit Dragon!

“Are you that little Chong Ling??” Zhu Minglang was taken aback, looking at the utterly transford Death Spirit Dragon.

“Ssu!” The Death Spirit Dragon responded, its eyes like the Yama Dragon, burning with an underworldly fla, looking extraordinarily spiritual and fiercely intense!

“No, wait. You were already… Oh, you originally had the Inheritance of Undead Blood?” Zhu Minglang exclaid in surprise.

At that mont, the Death Spirit Dragon ran to the side.

After a while, the Death Spirit Dragon brought back a piece of clothing from the mountain wall, a clean one, exactly the outer garnt Zhu Minglang had been wearing when he buried the little creature.

The jacket had been stretched and torn, apparently ripped during its transformation into a dragon, but the Death Spirit Dragon carefully kept the garnt and handed it over to Zhu Minglang at this mont as proof that it was indeed that Little Chong Ling.

Zhu Minglang himself could hardly believe it.

The Juvenile Spirit had died here in this mountain collapse but then underwent a transformation after its death, becoming a Death Spirit Dragon!

The mark on its forehead did not disappear with its death. Instead, after its transformation into a dragon, it was inherited!

Zhu Minglang extended his palm, and previously imprinted on his palm, a faint ghostly glow now erged, resonating with the mark on the forehead of the Death Spirit Dragon.

The Death Spirit Dragon slowly brought its head closer and pressed its forehead against Zhu Minglang’s palm. The marks perfectly aligned, and imdiately Zhu Minglang felt a stronger spiritual bond being established. Zhu Minglang’s contract had added another dragon, and the Dragon Soul of the Death Spirit Dragon also found a place to dwell at this mont!
