Chapter 1075: Chapter 1079: Life and Death Officer Chapter 1075: Chapter 1079: Life and Death Officer …
Dawn broke, and rays of brilliance, like golden silk, scattered across a courtyard filled with red leaves, where a woman dressed in an exquisite gown slowly entered.
In the yard, a vibrant young woman was sweeping the fallen leaves with a broom, her eyes covered by a bright red silk band, clearly indicating her blindness.
“Did I enter the wrong door?” the blind woman looked in the direction of the entrance.
For so reason, though she could see nothing, she felt there was a faintly glowing silhouette there, graceful and slim; she could even detect a fragrance emanating from the figure, surpassing flowers after an early spring rain.
“Show Language?” the woman at the door asked.
“Um…Um…” the blind woman hesitated for a while, then, after a mont, spoke in a voice loud enough for herself to hear, “It’s been a long ti since soone called by that na…”
“Your little courtyard is well-maintained,” the woman slowly walked in, surveying the surroundings.
“In my spare ti, I plant things I like; though I can’t see how they bloom, their fragrance is enough for ,” Show Language responded, pausing after speaking before she then asked, “Are you… my family died early, and no one from my holand rembers , the girl who deviated from doctrine. Are you here to capture and display as a lesson, because I shouldn’t have led those girls who faced similar fates away from there, and you want to punish , right?”
“No, I have no connection to your holand. By the way, have you never seen the flowers you’ve grown? They’re very beautiful,” the woman said as she walked among the star-like flowers in the courtyard, admiring them.
“No, I can’t see…” Show Language said.
While saying this, Show Language felt the unexpected guest approached close behind her, the fragrance overwhelming, like countless intoxicating nectars. She felt a gentle hand at the back of her head, untying the silk band that covered her eyes.
The silk band slowly floated down, and brilliant sunlight filled her sight, as colorful and splendid as what she had seen in her youth…
Subsequently, she saw the flowers scattered across the courtyard; though not neatly arranged, they possessed a wild natural beauty, lush and vibrant, more romantically blooming than she had imagined!
Show Language could hardly believe it.
She was even shaken by the sight before her, her heart lting into the warm light amidst the magnificent flowers…
Had she always lived in such a beautiful little house? The flowers she had been nervously and ticulously caring for grew so exquisitely!
She imrsed herself in this for a long ti.
Incredulous, yet filled with imnse joy.
She turned around to look at the person who had untied her scarf…
In that instant, she once again experienced beauty that struck her soul directly, far surpassing everything she had just seen.
“Can I…can I really see now?” Show Language asked.
“From now on, you’ll be able to see,” the stunning woman said.
“But just recently, the doctor told that my condition was very severe, as the people from my holand blinded as a form of punishnt, leaving with an ailnt so severe, they even said I might not live much longer…” Suddenly, Show Language realized sothing.
She quickly turned her head to look inside the house.
There, at the bamboo-covered window, a woman was laying peacefully in the morning light, identical to her.
Show Language hurriedly looked down at herself, seeing the morning light passing through her body, her form sowhat translucent…
“Am I… am I dead?” Show Language regained her composure, obviously not the type to be confused by her surroundings, she cald down, not showing sadness, only a bit startled.
“Yes,” the beautiful woman in the morning light nodded.
“Then you are…”
“I am here to take you away.”
“Ah? After people die, aren’t they usually taken away by cow-headed and horse-faced spirits? Why is soone as good-looking as you taking ?” Show Language asked, puzzled.
“Only those with impure hearts are taken away by cow-headed and horse-faced spirits, yet they too are deities, residing right among us. They might be your neighbor or soone you’ve t,” the woman explained calmly.
“So, you’re the legendary God of Death?” Show Language asked.
“I control the lifespan of the living. In common terms, I would be considered a Judge of life and death. The vast majority are taken away by lesser spirits after death, so by cow-headed and horse-faced spirits, but special individuals like you are personally visited by ,” the woman said in a gentle tone.
Her voice was comforting, like that of a very kind elder sister. Even though Show Language knew she had left the mortal world, she did not feel afraid.
“Is that so? Then, where are we going?” Show Language continued.
“Everyone asks for so ti, as everyone has regrets in their hearts. I can give you two days to speak to your loved ones. Of course, you must not tell anyone that you have seen , nor ntion that you are deceased…” the woman stated.
Hearing this, Show Language inexplicably thought of four words.
Returning light.
This is why so people suddenly seem to be doing well, eating and drinking heartily, admonishing this and that… and then suddenly passing away a few days later.
“No need. Though I have attachnts, I have no regrets,” Show Language shook her head.
As she spoke, footsteps were heard outside the house, a person in hard boots briskly walking into the courtyard.
He obviously couldn’t see the soul of Show Language or the divine woman.
He carried a bag of steaming breakfast, all fragrant soy milk.
“How can you not lock the door? It’s so dangerous for a girl,” the man complained, but still headed towards the house.
The man straightened his clothes, then gently knocked on the door.
“Show Young Lady, I’ve brought you breakfast, with your favorite soy milk. After eating, rember to take your dicine as instructed by the doctor,” the man whispered, careful not to awaken her.
“Language, are you up?”
“Language please? I am Ling Song, how are you feeling today?”
“Language please!”
Ling Song sensed that sothing was wrong. He hurried to the other side and, through the propped bamboo window, saw Show Language lying silently on the bed, her face slightly pale but not unattractive. However, she had no more breath.
Ling Song could naturally feel it, and rushed into the room.
Despite his strong senses which easily allowed him to tell whether a person was breathing, he still incredulously reached out his hand, placing it under Show Language’s nose…
Ling Song’s hand remained stiffly under her nose while the other hand, which carried the breakfast, slipped, scattering the al in front of the window.
He stood still, his face transforming from shock and confusion to pain. Yet, the pain didn’t last long before it turned into a clenched-teeth anger!
“Why!!!”
“Why does Old Heavenly Father treat you this way!!!”
“Which damned lesser spirit took your soul? I, Ling Song, will definitely retrieve it for you!”
“Wait for , Language, wait for . There’s nothing in this world that I, Ling Song, cannot retrieve!”
“No one can take you away, no one!”
