Drahon and the players stared at the words in shock.

[Draconic Rat Boss Monster Detected!]

The ga had to be kidding!

A Boss Monster!

Of course, the players sohow had prior knowledge that anyti a monster was defeated, a Boss monster was to show up, but they hadn’t thought it would occur in a place like this.

It wasn’t even so confird. The players didn’t know it was to occur with all the monsters they were going to face.

The first ti Drahon had encountered a Boss monster in the ga was back at Level One, when they finished killing off all of the Skeleton monsters.

From the knowledge he had gained, a Boss monster would rise from the corpse of any beast or monster they killed. It seed to be so cursed chanic of the ga world.

Anyti they were to kill so monster, a Boss monster would be waiting for them.

And now, even if they killed sothing as little as a rat, a Boss monster was waiting for them.

The second Boss monster he fought was with the Demon Dragon monsters, the third was with the Draconic Goblins, and now, it was with ’Draconic Rats.’

This was a Ga of Boss monsters!

[Objective Update ]

• All standard Draconic Rats eliminated.

• Remaining threat detected: Draconic Rat Alpha.

[ New Objective: Defeat the Draconic Rat Boss Monster to unlock the Dragon Shop gate. ]

• Ti Remaining in Dragon Shop Dinsion: 3 Days, 22 Hours.

• Tip: Sustained damage over ti effects from the Boss monster bites stack with standard venom effects.

Drahon and the players stared at the words almost in disgust.

Fighting with strength was okay, but fighting with hunger was simply not it.

Moreover, a hungry man or woman is an angry man or woman.

The floating runes dissolved, and now the players heard a sound...

They all turned around, all their weapons summoned. But they weren’t actually certain they would be using the weapons, as they were too exhausted to engage in any fight...

The first sound was a deep, wet rumble, like stone grinding against stone from sowhere beyond the shadows. The players couldn’t actually see clearly what lay beneath the walls of the dungeon.

They now heard the heavy scraping of claws, too slow and too deliberate, seemingly like the incoming Boss monster was trying to make so cinematic effect of its coming.

From the far end of the dungeon path, the darkness, which had been earlier still, suddenly shifted, and sothing vast erged.

It stepped into the flickering sconce-light, and for a mont all three players just stared.

It was the Draconic Rat Boss monster!

It stood nearly shoulder-high to Drahon, its body a grotesque fusion of rodent bulk and draconic nace. Its fur was a mottled charcoal-grey, torn and patchy where the uneven plates of black scale had erupted from beneath the skin. Those scales caught the torchlight in a faint shimr, but there was nothing beautiful or fancy about them; they were thick, irregular, and sharp-edged like broken armor.

Very much grotesque.

Two twisted horns curled back from its skull, ridged and chipped. Its eyes glowed with the molten red heat common to all Draconic Boss monsters and beasts, but in this Draconic Rat Boss monster, they burned brighter, with a cruel intelligence. Thick ropes of saliva hung from its rough-looking yellowed fangs, hissing faintly where they dripped onto the stone floor, like the saliva was made of so glowing substance.

Its tail was long and muscular, ending in a blunt, scale-plated club that twitched with each step. The creature’s foreclaws were thick and hooked, sharp enough to gouge deep furrows into the polished stone simply by walking.

Suddenly it exhaled, and wisps of faint green vapor leaked from its nostrils— the telltale stench of the venom that went through its body.

Its sheer size made the smaller Draconic Rats seem almost pitiful by comparison, and the way it moved-

It seed like it was stalking. Its movent was slow, asured, and confident. Every step seed like a warning, a promise...

Devon stared at it and whistled.

This was more than a Draconic rat; this rat was venomous as fuck!

That made Drahon wonder, all of the Boss monsters they had fought since entering the Dragon World were ’Draconic,’ a testant that the world they were in was truly Draconic!

The Skeleton Boss Monster they fought back at Level One had been simply a skeleton monster; it didn’t have draconic powers.

But since entering the Dragon World, all monsters were ’Draconic.’ The Demon Dragon monsters, the ’Draconic’ Goblins, and now the ’Draconic’ Rats.

And this Boss monster was undoubtedly the strongest. If they were to fight this thing with their swords, axes, and shields, they wouldn’t survive.

I an, you’ve got to picture this in your mind! Just picture a rat that hadn’t eaten for a whole month, only this was taller, more huge, and VENOMOUS!

That’s the part that gave Drahon the creeps the most.

Venomous!

His Health Points were 40 already; he wouldn’t want to take another risk.

Suddenly, in just a split second, the Boss monster’s profile flashed across their retinas:

[ Boss Monster Detected – Draconic Rat Alpha ]

• Level: 12

• Classification: Alpha Beast – Draconic Variant

• HP: 3,450 / 3,450

• Strength: 72

• Agility: 68

• Endurance: 80

• Intelligence: 18

• Fire Resistance: Moderate (55%)

• Venom Potency: High – causes "Draconic Venom Plus" (deals -15 HP every 20 seconds; stacks if bitten multiple tis)

• Special Abilities:

– Alpha Roar: Emits a concussive bellow that stuns targets within 8 ters for 2 seconds. Cooldown: 20 seconds.

– Pack Revival: Can resurrect one nearby dead Draconic Rat every 60 seconds (resurrected rats have 50% HP).

– Lunge & Spine Swipe: A sudden forward leap that exposes its back for 1 second — the only mont its spinal armor gap can be exploited for critical damage.

– Territorial Frenzy: When HP falls below 50%, gains 30% Strength and 40% Attack Speed.

– Venom Burst: On death, releases a poisonous cloud in a 6-ter radius that lingers for 10 seconds, dealing -5 HP per second to anyone beside.

• Behavioral Profile:

[The Draconic Rat Alpha is not rely larger than its kin — it is an apex variant that commands nearby rats through instinctual dominance. Unlike standard Draconic Rats, the Alpha exhibits controlled aggression, often feinting attacks to bait enemies into exposing themselves before executing a decisive strike. It prefers to target the weakest or most injured prey first, making it especially dangerous when allies are wounded. It will prioritize biting above all else, using its venom to wear enemies down before going for the kill.]

• Weaknesses:

– Briefly vulnerable along its spine when it performs the Lunge & Spine Swipe attack.

– Allergic to a mass release of fire.

– Montary cooldown between Alpha Roar and next physical strike.

– Slower turning speed than smaller rats; can be outmaneuvered from behind.

Drahon, Devon, and Ayvira exchanged glances, astonished.

[Note: The above information only occurred in a second.]

"There’s no way I’m fighting that," Devon said, unsummoning his sword.

What seed to scare him the most was how the monster wasn’t moving, it just stood rooted to the spot, glowing saliva dripping from its mouth.

What dreaded Drahon the most was:

Pack Revival: Can resurrect one nearby dead Draconic Rat every 60 seconds (resurrected rats have 50% HP).

So this Draconic Rat Boss monster was so sort of necromancer?

There was absolutely no way the players were fighting this Boss monster with their bare hands.

The fuck was this also:

[It will prioritize biting above all else, using its venom to wear enemies down before going for the kill.]

Like a wild rat, its top priority would be to bite.

But that wasn’t the thing that dreaded the players the most. The thing that dreaded them to even fight the monster was:

[Venom Burst: On death, releases a poisonous cloud in a 6-ter radius that lingers for 10 seconds, dealing -5 HP per second to anyone beside.]

So even though they were to kill this THING, they were still likely to die.
