The mont school ended, Xue ining dashed out of class and ran like the wind as she rushed down the stairs. Her steps were light yet filled with vigor as she moved in the direction of Grade 12 Class 6. It was at the main corridor connecting the two education blocks that they ca across one another.
“What food are you craving for tonight? Na it!” Ling Yun grinned as he asked Xue ining.
Under the light of the setting sun, Ling Yun’s clear eyes, his straight nose, and his sharp silhouette were further emphasized. In addition, the twilight shone on his lips and illuminated his beaming smile. Combined with his charming dimple, Xue ining was stunned and temporarily speechless.
After a seemingly long pause, she finally regained her senses and flirtatiously hooked her arm around Ling Yun’s arm as she stood beside him. She looked up at him and replied, “I’m not that hungry yet, how about going for so milk tea together?”
This was part of the plan that she had spent the whole afternoon thinking about.
It was a confession after all. Thus, naturally, one had to choose a place that was romantic, elegant, and at the sa ti, tranquil. Hence, the first place that ca to her mind was the milk tea cafe near the school entrance. As they neared the cafe, Xue ining could not help but feel anxiety as her confession crept nearer and nearer, thus causing her to ask questions subconsciously in an attempt to stay calm.
“Oh, ? I went to open an account.” Ling Yun answered honestly.
“An account? What account?” Xue ining asked curiously as she looked up at Ling Yun.
“Just a bank account for stock investnts. Do you know about it?” Ling Yun exclaid. His face was proud and joyful as he imagined how Zhuang ifeng was going to help him rake in a large amount of profit.
Yet, to his surprise, Xue ining lost interest the mont she heard the word stock from his mouth.
“Tsk, and I was wondering what interesting account you were going to open. To think it would be one for stock trading. The risks are overwhelming, what are you doing this for?” Xue ining replied. With a thorough education since young, naturally, she also had a perfect understanding of the workings of stock speculation and investnt. Understanding imdiately what she ant, Ling Yun looked at her with a serious expression before asking.
“Little Ning, exactly how big is the risk?”
Xue ining batted an eye at him as she answered, ” Don’t you know? Out of the ten people engaging in stock speculation, only a single person would profit. Furthermore, that person is always from the Zhuang family…”
Her words left Ling Yun in a daze. Unaware that this venture held such high risks, he decided that tonight, he would have to discuss with Zhuang ifeng again. After all, there was no way he was willing to risk all his savings for an impossible venture. Furthermore, there was no way he would let Zhuang ifeng gamble away his hard-earned capital!
As the two continued their conversation, they eventually arrived at the school entrance. At the mont Ling Yun stepped out of the entrance, he sensed an ominous aura being emitted from his surroundings. As for the oblivious Xue ining, upon feeling Ling Yun automatically wrapping his arms around her waist tighter, she could not help but feel a bit shy. Hence, her face blushed slightly.

As the traffic light turned green, Ling Yun made sure he surveyed his surroundings once again. Seeing that the coast was clear, he then held Xue ining tightly as they crossed the road.
All of a sudden, a stationary black limousine started its engine and accelerated. It then sped towards them with explosive speed. Within 3 seconds, the car had accelerated to more than 100 miles an hour as it rushed closer towards the two of them!
If only Ling Yun knew about cars, he would have noticed the fact that the car held no plating when he surveyed the surroundings. Sadly, he knew nothing about those things called cars.
The car was like a flying arrow. If it hit them, they would no doubt be sent flying for more than 15 ters! Hence, it was obvious that whoever was in the car wanted the two of them dead!
The people along the road were all in shock. Many shouted warnings while others gasped in horror. So were simply frozen with their eyes shut tight, unwilling to witness the tragedy that was going to unfold.

That was all Xue ining could utter out of her mouth. She only noticed the speeding car at the mont when it was seconds from contact with their bodies. She could only look on in horror as she awaited her own death!
It was at this critical mont, Ling Yun held Xue ining tightly before utilizing his Thousand Miles Godly Steps to its limits. In a fraction of a second, with only a single residual image remaining, they had traversed to the opposite side of the road. The speeding black limousine missed the two by a hair’s breadth. Just a fraction of a second late and it would have hit them!
Despite missing Ling Yun, the car did not slow down. The driver skillfully perford a drift, making sure not to hit any unrelated personnel. In a second, he had driven around a corner and disappeared.
“Alright, it’s okay now…” Ling Yun gently released his embrace and let Xue ining down to the ground. He then gently patted her shoulder to reassure her. He did not bother chasing after the car. That was because he did not want to leave Xue ining behind and expose her to unnecessary dangers. After all, he still had no idea who the driver of the car was targeting.
“Hah… that gave the shock of my life!” Xue ining exclaid, her supple chest moving up and down vigorously as she took many deep breaths. Her small lips were quivering and her face was pale like a ghost.
“Ling Yun, didn’t that car seem like it was aiming at us…?” Xue ining asked with an incredulous expression the mont she regained her composure.
Ling Yun replied with a gentle smile before answering, “It did not ‘seem like’, the car was clearly aiming at us!”
At the mont that the car had nearly hit them, most of the onlookers had closed their eyes in fear. Yet, Ling Yun had been totally unfazed as he elegantly dodged the ambush by the car. Even now, he was acting as if nothing major had occurred. This was only natural for him. Back in Cultivation World, such killing and fighting was part and parcel of life. “Ah… what?! Just who is trying to kill us?! Should we call the cops?” Xue ining exclaid hysterically. The first thing that popped into her mind was going to the cops.

“Little Ning, no need to be afraid. That car seed to have been aiming for , not you. That’s why there’s no need to make a police report.”
He had finally figured everything out. The reason was simple. If the person had planned to target Xue ining with such a high-speed vehicle, all he or she had to do was wait for when she was alone. With that, her death would be inevitable. Thus, there was no need for them to take additional risks and do so when she was with soone else. Not to ntion, that skillful drift done by the driver was clearly a taunt towards Ling Yun.
If everything is what I think it is, the car accident last ti… Ling Yun drifted off into his own thoughts. He was pondering deeply before his concentration was broken by Xue ining’s loud voice.
“What?! They’re aiming for you? Even if that’s true, it’s still too dangerous for you!” Upon hearing that the car was aiming for Ling Yun, she felt even more worried than before.
Seeing that she was so worried for him that she had forgotten her fear, Ling Yun could not help but smile. He playfully ticked her delicate nose before replying softly.
“Relax, Little Ning. Even with your presence just now, I was able to protect the both of us easily. They won’t be able to harm . Don’t worry.”
Only upon hearing what Ling Yun said did Xue ining manage to calm herself down. That being said, her eyes were still filled with worry as she racked her brain, trying to find a solution to this predicant.
“Now, forget about all this and let’s go have so milk tea. It’s my treat.” Ling Yun announced before taking the initiative this ti, hooking his arm around Xue ining’s arm.
In actual fact, Xue ining felt that being outside was too dangerous and wanted to go back with Ling Yun to school. Instinctively, she felt that the school was the safest place to be at the mont. However, upon seeing Ling Yun’s calm and confident expression, she could not bring the words out of her mouth. Hence, she could only follow him into the milk tea cafe.
As expected, Yao Rou was still in the cafe. In fact, she was actually sitting along the window. Yao Rou gazed at Xue ining’s beautiful face and her elegant, long black hair. The girl before her was taller than her and held an air of innocence. Furthermore, Xue ining gave off a natural air of classiness. All these caused unimaginable pain to her heart. How could she even compare to such a beautiful lady?
Ling Yun acted as if he did not notice Yao Rou, speaking to Xue ining with a smile, “Okay, let’s go to the second floor then.”
In all honesty, Ling Yun had never thought that Yao Rou would be waiting in the cafe for him. However, he was unaffected and did not bother to speak to her. Instead, when he walked past her, he rely gave her a soft pat on her shoulder before going to the second floor. This soft squeeze ward her heart imdiately. The first thing that ca to her mind was that Ling Yun wanted her to wait for him and that he would explain everything to her.
Thus, she puffed out her supple chest and looked at her beautiful figure showing through her nurse coat. She then looked at her beautiful and delicate pair of legs under the table. She had regained her confidence and felt that there was no way she would lose out to the girl she saw. She bit her lips softly before ordering another milkshake as she began waiting for her potential romantic partner.
