"Soone's feeling nostalgic?" The playful words rang out as Ryuk faintly turned his head, pausing when he felt the body that embraced him from behind.

Golden hair danced around him like ribbons of light, and a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips as she leaned over his shoulder, her golden, gem-like eyes blinking playfully at him, casting a soft glow onto his pale face.

"I'm pretty sure they don't shine that brightly," Ryuk said, watching as the powerful radiance from her eyes slowly dimd.

She giggled at his expression, coming to stand by his side.

"Just giving that pale face of yours a bit of a glow..." she defended, watching him turn to her.

"I feel like you forgot to fit the word 'handso' in there sowhere," he teased, but it resulted in a pinch on his arm, his teeth clattering against each other.

"Ow! What was that for?" Ryuk asked, genuinely confused and rubbing at the sore spot.

"Your mouth's been getting way too sweet lately." She gave a huff, clearly pretending to be offended, but the expression quickly cracked, softening into quiet laughter.

"I'll get my revenge one day... You just wait," he whispered—just enough for Morgaine to hear.

She smiled devilishly as an idea ca to her head, and she closed in on him in a heartbeat, backing him against the railings.

"Hey, what are you..." he said, only to be silenced when he felt her fingers lay on his lips before she leaned in, barely an inch from his face, and whispered—

"You know, I might not mind if you have that revenge now..." she said, her hands moving to wrap around his before bringing it to her waist.

Ryuk's confused expression shifted into surprise as Morgaine noticed the pink blush on his face, giggling evilly in her heart.

'Naive as ever,'

She said with pride, but then her expression changed to one of surprise when she felt the blush on his cheek soon fade away.

Ryuk's second hand moved—grabbing her wrist firmly—and with one swift motion, he drew her into himself, his breath tickling her face.

BAAADUUMMPPP

BAAADUUMMPPP

The sound of chest thumping could be heard under the moonlight as Morgaine raised her head to stare into his eyes, but then froze.

Both of his eyes were glowing, one a deep crimson, and the other an ocean blue—and slowly, she found herself being drawn, lost to their depths.

She found herself unable to look away.

But then, her heart thumped louder when she realized:

His hands were moving_

slowly trailing down her waist and...lower.

Their touch sent a ripple of shock that seed to increase her skin sensitivity, a bizarre sensation arising in her chest.

But just as his hands brushed the lower curve of her waist, she backed off him like a scared rabbit, hands reaching for her chest, which was now pounding uncontrollably.

She watched as his expression changed from its earlier dark allure back to his cute, childish mocking face as he laughed out loud before saying—

"Soone looks scared of my revenge..." he said mockingly.

'Tch, I got played,' She thought, watching his mocking smirk, and snapped,

"You...you pervert," she said, punching at his nose.

CLAAAANG

KACHAAAA

The sound of bone creaking rang out as Ryuk's head jerked backward, his back hitting the railing.

But then, he heard a silent groan of pain as his spine snapped upward, raising him back to his feet, only to sight Morgaine, whose right fist crumpled into her left, golden blood trailing down her fingers.

Her facial expression was a mix of disbelief and evident pain as Ryuk reached her.

"It's fine... I—" She tried to brush it off, but he was adamant, bringing her fingers to him.

Her knuckles had peeled from punching his face, golden blood on the edges.

'Hey, system,' Ryuk called in his mind, and an instant later—

A soft fabric was in his hands, covered in glittering green motes of light coming from the inner runic symbols.

He knelt on one knee, helping her to sit before wrapping the cloth around her hand.

Morgaine's breath caught as she looked at him tending to her wounds.

He was focused on tending her wounds, his expression calm, but the worry was as clear as day.

She observed how he held her hands so tenderly, how he wound the fabric around the injury as if her hands were even more fragile than glass.

Her heart thumped louder than ever, finding herself lost at the sight of him, and that was when the realization truly dawned on her:

He cared.

She blinked rapidly, feeling her chest tighten—not in pain, but in sothing far more overwhelming—but was eventually snapped out of it when he raised his head.

"Feeling okay?"

He asked, as a faint pink blush appeared on her face, but she tried to hide it by turning to her fingers, only to find that the cuts had been erased

No pain. No scars.

Even the cloth had vanished.

It was like the injury had never existed, leaving her in quiet shock.

"I... thank you," she said, but then his tender expression faded off, giving way to his goofy, playful side.

"I think that should teach you not to try and break my nose next ti, hmm?" he mocked, rising to his feet before stretching his hand toward her.

Morgaine snorted before grabbing his hand as she was helped up to her feet.

"I'll get my revenge one day, you dickhead!" she swore, seemingly annoyed, but all she got was a mocking eye roll before he returned to the railings.

The silence enveloped the balcony, her hands hugging her chest, feeling the thump in them, once ford from the realization, but then she turned to him, only to find his gaze lost in the sky.

"Weird?" Morgaine asked, following his gaze, joining him to recline on the railings.

"I wouldn't say so. I just think it's... different," he said, referring to the sky.

And truly, the sky of Ammamora—even now at night—was different.

The previous Eclipsed Citadel of the Fallen Angels was a weird place known for its perfect twilights.

But the sky of Ammamora was a mix. A twilight streaked with golden motes.

Yet, surprisingly, it wasn't morning, and there was a bit of darkness in the surroundings.

Still, the golden-twilight sky was definitely different from what he was used to.

"You know, I once asked my mother why the Eclipsed Citadel sky was always twilight, and never fully dawn or dusk like every other place on Endearth..." Morgaine suddenly said, drawing his attention.

"I thought the sky was just like that, right?" Ryuk asked—but her reply was quite surprising.
