Lin Feng didn't swap [Fate's Chosen] for [Fated Nesis].
Logically speaking, the villain is destined to lose to the protagonist—that's just how fate works.
The protagonist only needs to grow steadily to eventually triumph, while the villain must fight fate itself just to stand a chance.
It was the sa with traits.
With [Fate's Chosen], all you had to do was choose it, and fate itself would favor you. You'd automatically enjoy the perks of being the protagonist.
But with [Fated Nesis], you'd have to actively suppress the chosen one just to steal a bit of their luck.
"Co on, who'd pick darkness when you can play the hero?"
Lin Feng would never choose to be the villain.
He, Lin Feng, was a proper good guy—through and through.
Having just refreshed three new traits, he couldn't wait to test them out in the training grounds.
No ti to waste.
When the teacher wasn't looking, he quietly slipped out the back door.

Heaven Dou Academy – Training Ground No. 8
The training ground was empty—just Lin Feng alone.
"Fire Dragon King!"
A blazing illusion of a massive dragon erupted behind him, its body engulfed in roaring flas.
Each of its shining scales seed to be forged from pure fire, and the surrounding air distorted from the intense heat.
"So… this is the legendary Fire Dragon King Martial Soul?"
Lin Feng gasped in awe, voice trembling.
The fire… it was even stronger than Ultimate Fire!
Ultimate Fire was the peak for lower-tier martial souls, sure—but in trait terms, it was still just purple.
This was gold!
The Fire Dragon King was a divine-class martial soul—one of the Nine Dragon Kings, with strength surpassing many first-level gods.
In his eyes, even Qian Renxue's Seraphim Martial Soul wasn't as powerful as his Fire Dragon King.
This pressure, this draconic might—truly overwhelming.
He made the right choice. No doubt about it.
Grinning ear to ear, Lin Feng gave a thumbs-up to no one in particular.
Next, he wanted to try out another new trait—
[Dazzling Effects].
This allowed his actions to be accompanied by visual flair based on his imagination.
He took a deep breath and envisioned himself as the Fire God, master of fire, his entire body composed of pure fla.
When he exhaled—a dragon would be born.
And it worked!
Opening his mouth slightly, a wisp of fla flickered out.
With a re thought, it surged forth, expanding into a colossal fire dragon that roared into the sky.
In an instant, the heavens turned crimson. Fire clouds churned overhead, stretching across kiloters like an apocalyptic storm.
The dazzling effects were more stunning than any magical stage show.
"Damn, if I didn't know better, I'd think the Fire God himself had descended."
Then—
To his surprise, Lin Feng's body turned into fire and rose, rging with the flas in the sky. He now hovered high above, like a deity looking down upon the world.
Solitary. Majestic. Unreachable.
He snapped his fingers.
BOOM!
An earth-shattering explosion rang out. The fire dragon exploded into a million embers, scattering like falling stars, lighting up the sky.

Back in the Academy Classrooms
Teachers were passionately lecturing about soul skills.
Students were diligently taking notes.
Suddenly, a deafening explosion rocked the building—shaking the walls, the floor, everything.
Everyone froze.
"What just happened? Is the Academy under attack?!"
One teacher sprang to their feet, shouting.
The others imdiately released their martial souls, soul power flaring as they prepared for battle.
Students rushed to the windows in a panic, trying to see what was going on.
Outside, flas blazed in the sky above the training grounds—violent explosions still ongoing.
"What… what is that?!"
"Who has such terrifying power?"
Panic and fear swept through the crowd.
Even Dugu Yan was startled. She turned instinctively toward Lin Feng's seat—
It was empty.
"Of course. Cutting class again!"
She muttered under her breath, half annoyed, half helpless.

Training Ground
Lin Feng imdiately sensed the nurous soul power signatures converging around him and realized he had gone a bit too far.
Without hesitation, he bolted from the scene like a criminal fleeing a cri.
Monts later, a white-haired elder arrived with two Soul Douluo trailing behind him.
It was ng Shenji, Bai Baoshan, and Zhi Lin—the three deans of Heaven Dou Academy.
They had all rushed to the training field.
"That explosion just now… could it have been caused by a Titled Douluo?"
"To make such a grand spectacle without causing real damage… whoever did this must have exceptional soul power control!"
"And it's fire-elent? Could it be the mysterious fire-elent Douluo who took the Fire Crystal from Sunset Forest?"
"Possible. But if that's the case, why co to our Academy? If they wanted the ten-thousand-year soul bone, they should've gone after Poison Douluo instead…"
As they speculated, none could figure out the true identity of the culprit.
When Zhi Lin heard ntion of the soul bone, his expression darkened noticeably.
Students and teachers were starting to gather around the scene, watching the three deans and whispering amongst themselves.
No one had expected such a powerful person to be hiding in Heaven Dou City.
A kiloter-wide effect? That level of destructive area could only belong to a Rank 96 Titled Douluo.
The real question: could this person be recruited?
From within the crowd, Xue Qinghe furrowed his brows, silently pondering the sa.

Elsewhere
"Damn, why did the effects co with sound too?!"
"Whew… lucky I ran fast! One more second and I would've been caught!"
Lin Feng ran all the way back to his dorm like a kid who'd just set off illegal fireworks.
For a mont, he'd truly felt like the Fire God… but when he turned off the effect, he realized he'd never actually left the training ground.
He'd just sprinted away the normal way—out of breath, heart pounding.
After catching his breath—
"I wonder what the training field looks like now," he muttered.
He sat cross-legged on the bed, closed his eyes, and whispered—
"Astral Projection."
His soul imdiately flew from his body and headed straight for the training ground.
From above, he saw the field sealed off and swarming with instructors.
Curious, he floated closer to eavesdrop on the gathered crowd.
Amused, he chuckled to himself.
Who would've thought today's antics would make the legend of the mysterious fire-type Douluo even more convincing?
Well, that worked out perfectly. Now no one would suspect him.
Sotis, luck really worked in mysterious ways.
