Shenmu City.
Ning Fengzhi had co to inspect the Seven Treasures Guild. The herbs for the Bone-Fortifying Ointnt were of great importance, and there was a considerable quantity. It was necessary to prevent anyone from embezzling them.
Knowing the corruption within the upper echelons of the Spirit Hall, Ning Fengzhi was very strict with internal managent.
He flipped through the account books of the Shenmu City Seven Treasures Guild, reading ten lines at a glance, while the guild manager beside him bowed his head and waited, not daring to breathe too loudly.
A middle-aged man dressed in white hurried into the hall, kneeling halfway and saying, "Master, the young miss has entered her room and secretly slipped out through the back door. The disciples have already followed her."
Ning Fengzhi nodded slightly, "It's fine. I've been pushing her too hard with cultivation lately. Let her relax a bit; don't stop her. Bring her back before dark."
"Yes!"
The white-robed steward respectfully retreated.
Sword Douluo Chen Xin had intended to personally watch over Ning Rongrong, but after looking at Ning Fengzhi, he decided against speaking up.
At the city gate.
A little girl with pink, dium-length hair squeezed through the city gate, humming an unknown tune cheerfully. Her snow-white skin seed to glow under the sunlight.
Her adorable face lit up with a crescent-moon-like smile that revealed her mischievous charm.
The girl was Ning Rongrong, who had just awakened her martial soul less than a month ago. Under Ning Fengzhi's supervision, she was forced to train her body daily using the Bone-Fortifying Ointnt.
This trip to inspect the guild was an opportunity she had wrangled by pestering her father relentlessly, all so she could sneak out and play.
"Hmph, bad daddy! All he does is make train—it's so annoying!"
Ning Rongrong pouted and complained, then chose a random direction and ran off.
Behind her, the disciples of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect had dealt with countless passersby who harbored ill intentions toward Ning Rongrong. Seeing her leave the city, they collectively sighed in relief.
At least outside the city, there were fewer people and a broader view, making it much easier to keep an eye on her.
To avoid being discovered by Ning Rongrong, the disciples spread out and hid behind haystacks and mounds in the fields outside the city.
Ning Rongrong, who had grown up in the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect, was seeing such an expansive plain for the first ti. The faint fragrance of grass in the air was refreshing, and her cheerful laughter echoed around.
A brown figure flashed past, and Ning Rongrong focused to see that it was a wild rabbit nibbling on wheat seedlings in the field.
Seeing Ning Rongrong, the rabbit paid no heed and continued eating as if it didn't perceive her as a threat.
"Wow, a bunny! Grandpa, I want this one!"
Ning Rongrong's eyes lit up, and she instinctively called out. Receiving no response, she rembered she had sneaked out and pouted.
"Hmph, I can catch the bunny myself!"
Ning Rongrong spread her arms, took a few steps, and lunged at the rabbit.
The rabbit's lips quivered, and as Ning Rongrong sprinted toward it, it suddenly kicked its legs, sending a cloud of dirt flying onto her. Then it scampered away in a blur.
"Ah!"
Ning Rongrong scread. When she opened her eyes again, the rabbit was nowhere to be seen. Her eyes welled up with tears of frustration, but she held them back.
She wiped her face forcefully, drying her tears, and shouted loudly:
"Soone, catch the bunny for ! Otherwise, I'll tell Daddy to punish you!"
The hearing of soul masters was extraordinary, and the disciples of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect all heard Ning Rongrong's cry. They exchanged bitter smiles and erged from their hiding spots to chase after the fleeing rabbit.
The rabbit fled desperately, pursued by a group of soul masters.
Ning Rongrong's mood lifted sowhat, and she sniffed disdainfully, "That'll teach you to upset ."
Feeling more relaxed, Ning Rongrong soon found chasing the rabbit boring. Watching the disciples running after it in the distance, her eyes darted around, and she quietly slipped away.
The disciples naturally weren't using their soul skills to chase the rabbit. By the ti they realized Ning Rongrong was missing, she had already arrived at the dilapidated village where Gu La was staying.
It must be said that Ning Rongrong was very brave—she dared to venture alone into a decrepit old village.
She gently flared her nostrils, catching a whiff of a fragrant aroma. A dazed expression crossed her fair face.
"It slls so good."
She rummaged through her pockets but found no snacks. Pouting unhappily, she followed the source of the scent.
At this mont, Gu La was at a critical juncture. The potency of the ten-thousand-year whale jelly had reached its peak in his body, rapidly tempering every muscle and bone. However, due to his young age, there weren't many areas that needed tempering, and much of the dicinal properties were wasted as they evaporated with his sweat.
Ning Rongrong moved quickly and soon found the small courtyard where Gu La was.
She stood at the entrance, inhaling the fragrance inside. Her skin flushed slightly, and her delicate face appeared almost dewy. After hesitating for a mont, her dazed gaze led her into the courtyard.
Inside, the fragrance grew stronger, mingled with a faint fishy sll from the whale jelly. But Ning Rongrong didn't have ti to think about it anymore.
Her light brown eyes reflected Gu La's figure, her cherry lips parted slightly, and she stared at him blankly, unconsciously walking closer.
In his hazy state, Gu La felt himself embracing sothing. The heat in his body transferred through the embrace, and he couldn't help but nuzzle closer.
Fifteen minutes later, Gu La opened his eyes and felt the warm sensation on his lips. He froze montarily.
"Where did this pink-haired little loli co from?"
Gu La loosened his grip, and Ning Rongrong, still dazed, rubbed against him, her skin faintly pink.
"So hot…" Ning Rongrong murmured softly.
A flicker of awkwardness passed through Gu La's eyes. He imdiately understood that the little girl had been affected by the side effects of the whale jelly.
But he wasn't so pervert—how could he possibly do anything to a little girl?
Removing his hand from her foot, which was clad in white stockings, Gu La switched to his Celebi martial soul. A soft green glow enveloped his body, emitting a fragrant aroma.
Aromatherapy.
The soothing fragrance healed all negative effects, snapping Ning Rongrong out of her daze. However, her cheeks remained as rosy as rose petals.
"Who are you? Why are you here?"
Gu La took the initiative to ask.
Ning Rongrong was still a bit confused, but the Aromatherapy dispelled the side effects of the whale jelly, and her mories slowly returned.
Ning Rongrong's face turned bright red. She jumped up abruptly and pointed at Gu La: "You… you pervert! I'm going to kill you!"
People on the Douluo Continent matured early—they knew what was what. Recalling her earlier forwardness, Ning Rongrong wished she could bury herself in a hole.
Gu La sized up Ning Rongrong, wondering which family's young miss she was. He countered her accusation: "Clearly, you ca onto . You're the pervert here—I'm the one who got taken advantage of."
"You!" Ning Rongrong was furious and wanted to lunge at Gu La and bite him.
"What 'you'? You look decent enough. When you grow up, I'll make you my little wife—that's generous enough, isn't it?"
Gu La tilted his head arrogantly but then glanced into the future and shuddered involuntarily. Could it really be her!?
Ning Rongrong's face flushed red with anger, but she did rember approaching him herself. Feeling wronged, she regretted sneaking out—her virtue had nearly been compromised.
