Hearing this, Xuan Ming's eyes flashed with understanding.
So that's it. A Spirit Beast overlord who cultivates by manipulating human civilization for sustenance? This is quite different from the Spirit Beast survival thods he was familiar with.
"Since the Evil Eye Tyrant Overlord can influence human civilization in this way, why don't you and the Spirit Beasts of the Star Dou Great Forest follow suit? Given your strength and wisdom, interfering with human developnt shouldn't be difficult, right?" Xuan Ming asked.
Di Tian heard this, and a hint of disdain flashed in his dragon eyes. He replied in a deep voice, "Firstly, there is no need. The situation on the Douluo Continent is completely different from the Sun Moon Continent. The catastrophe triggered by the Rakshasa God tens of thousands of years ago almost completely destroyed the previous generation of human civilization, and its lingering poison persists even now.
Although the Angel God later appeared and curbed the spread of evil Spirit Beasts, the humans on the Douluo Continent were preoccupied with internal strife for a long ti, struggling rely for self-preservation, and civilization developed slowly. More importantly, the number of Spirit Masters in the past was far fewer than now, and their overall power was weak. Interfering with them held little practical value for us."
Di Tian paused, then continued, "Over the past twenty thousand years, since the Angel God ascended, his descendants established a church-like organization. They spread the Angel faith across the Continent, but at the sa ti, they secretly interfered with the wars and alliances of those human kingdoms, ensuring they would not beco overly unified or powerful."
Di Tian's voice carried a hint of cold indifference that saw through worldly affairs: "After all, if life is stable and prosperous, who would fanatically pursue that ethereal salvation from a God? Only when people are amidst war, suffering, and chaos will they desperately yearn for faith and desire to be saved. The Six-Winged Angel Family knows this well."
"This situation continued until about five thousand years ago." Di Tian's tone sank. "At that ti, an auspicious beast was born in the Star Dou Great Forest. The contemporary ninety-ninth-rank High Priest of the Six-Winged Angel Family sensed the aura of the auspicious beast. In order to seize this supre treasure related to destiny, he brazenly trespassed into the core area of the Star Dou Great Forest."
A flash of recollection and severity crossed his dragon eyes: "In that battle, I clashed fiercely with him. In my fury, I rushed out of the forest, pursuing and slaying several Titled Douluo of the Angel Family. That High Priest was also severely wounded by . If he hadn't ultimately fled back to the Angel Divine Hall and triggered the Angel God's consciousness to force back, I would have directly eradicated the foundation of that Angel God's church right then!"
"After this battle, we established a covenant: mbers of the Six-Winged Angel Family are forbidden from ever stepping into the core area of the Star Dou Great Forest again, or I will strike once more, fighting until death. It was also because of that battle that the Six-Winged Angel Family was severely weakened, causing them to consolidate their main forces and eventually establish the Angel Divine Hall on the Supre Pontiff Mountain, where Spirit City is now located."
"As for the Spirit Hall," Di Tian added, "that was established about a thousand years ago, after the structure of the human Heaven Dou Empire and Star Luo Empire had stabilized. It was initiated by the Six-Winged Angel Family, along with several other powerful Spirit Master families. Before that, the core strength of the Six-Winged Angel Family was almost always entrenched on that Angel Divine Mountain, rarely concerning themselves with secular affairs."
"And the Douluo Hall within the current Spirit Hall actually only moved next to the Angel Divine Hall a few hundred years ago. The families that initially joined to establish the Spirit Hall have either declined long ago or have successively broken away and established their own sects due to ideological conflicts or being marginalized by the Six-Winged Angel Family—such as the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. In recent centuries, the Spirit Hall has long been dominated solely by the Six-Winged Angel Family."
After listening, Xuan Ming had a clearer understanding of the changes in the Spirit Master powers on the Douluo Continent, but he imdiately raised a new question: "How can you be so clear about the details of these human power transitions? Haven't you always guarded the Silver Dragon King deep within the Lake of Life, rarely venturing out?"
Di Tian glanced at Xuan Ming, a hint of arrogance flashing in his dragon eyes: "Do not underestimate my half-step divine consciousness ntal force, nor my control over space. Although my true body rarely leaves the core area of the Star Dou Great Forest, my ntal force can cover an extrely vast range. I have always monitored the developnt of the human World, especially the movents of the Spirit Master powers."
"It's just that, due to the existence of the Angel God's inheritance, I found it inconvenient to directly interfere in human affairs. Otherwise, how could I allow them to grow strong right under my nose?"
Xuan Ming suddenly understood. Although Di Tian, as the Beast God, was restricted by rules from easily taking action, he was certainly not ignorant of the World's affairs.
However, in the original trajectory, Di Tian had been hesitant to interfere with humans in the past due to his fear of the Angel God. Later, when the Sea God and the Asura God Tang San erged, he dared not act arbitrarily.
Xuan Ming digested the secrets revealed by Di Tian, gaining a deeper understanding of the Douluo Continent's structure. He suddenly rembered sothing and turned to ask, "Right, how did you settle the Deep Sea Demon Whale King's child?"
ntioning this, a trace of helplessness flashed in Di Tian's dragon eyes: "The mont the Deep Sea Demon Whale King died, the Demon Whale Sea Territory it originally occupied lost its overlord and was imdiately divided and seized by other powerful sea Spirit Beast tribes. The Deep Sea Demon Whale tribe lost its protection and has scattered, making them hard to find. Out of necessity, I could only temporarily bring the little fellow back to the Star Dou Great Forest, settling him in the Lake of Life and entrusting the Sky Azure Bull Python to help look after him."
He paused, adding, "After all, given his current strength and identity, if he rashly appeared in the ocean, he would likely beco the target of all, making survival difficult."
Hearing Di Tian's explanation, an ominous premonition inexplicably rose in Xuan Ming's heart. He frowned slightly and subconsciously murmured, "The Deep Sea Demon Whale King is dead, and the little demon whale has also been brought to the Lake of Life... If the Deep Sea Demon Whale King's wife returns and finds her husband dead, her child missing, and her tribe scattered..."
Before Xuan Ming finished speaking—Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The vast sea area ahead, which had been relatively calm, erupted without warning!
It was as if the entire ocean had been violently stirred by an invisible giant hand. Monstrous waves instantly surged up, shooting straight into the sky! The heavens suddenly darkened, thick with black clouds, lightning flashing and thunder rumbling! An incomparably terrifying, violent, yet heartbreakingly sorrowful and frantic aura erupted from the depths of the sea like a tangible tsunami, sweeping across the entire World!
This aura was extrely similar to that of the forr Deep Sea Demon Whale King, but it was deeper, darker, and filled with the aning of destruction and despair!
Amidst the monstrous waves, an incredibly massive shadow, wreathed in dark purple destructive energy, slowly erged from the deepest part of the ocean. In its huge eyes, flas of hatred that could incinerate the World burned fiercely.
This was precisely the Deep Sea Demon Whale King's spouse, the Demon Empress, whose whereabouts were even more mysterious!
She had just returned, and before she could ascertain the exact reason for her tribe's dispersal, her extrely sharp senses instantly captured the unmistakably clear aura on Xuan Ming—an aura that had even rged with his power source... the aura belonging to her husband, the Deep Sea Demon Whale King!
"It was you—!!!"
A shriek mixed with endless sorrow and monstrous hatred directly tore through space, causing Xuan Ming and Di Tian's eardrums to ache. The Demon Empress's massive eyes locked onto Xuan Ming. There was no questioning, no hesitation, only the purest form of destructive desire!
Without any communication, and without even giving Di Tian a chance to speak and intervene, the Demon Empress's enormous body violently churned, and the entire sea area seed to transform into her Domain.
A 'Heaven-Rolling Demon Surge,' several tis more terrifying than any previous tsunami, rose out of thin air. The pitch-black seawater contained dark spirit power that seed to devour everything. It instantly cut off Di Tian's ntal perception and his path, and furthermore, like a gigantic cage, it directly swallowed Xuan Ming, dragging him toward the deeper, darker seabed!
"Xuan Ming!" Di Tian's expression changed. Dragon might erupted around him as he tried to tear apart the strange black waves, but the dark power contained within the Demon Surge was highly unusual, possessing strong isolating and corrosive properties, making it difficult for him to break through imdiately.
Xuan Ming felt his body tighten, as if grabbed by countless icy giant hands. His vision was instantly filled with endless dark seawater, and his body uncontrollably sank toward the abyss below, where even light could not reach. He was speechless; this Demon Empress didn't even give him a chance to explain.
The deep-sea pressure suddenly increased, but for Xuan Ming's current physique, this was not a threat. He stabilized himself and attempted to communicate with the huge shadow furiously pursuing him using his ntal force: "Big sister, calm down, the Deep Sea Demon Whale King sacrificed himself voluntarily..."
Xuan Ming stopped.
Sacrificed himself voluntarily? That didn't seem quite right. Although the Deep Sea Demon Whale King was sacrificed, it was a forced sacrifice.
If it weren't for the fact that he couldn't win the fight and couldn't escape at the ti, the Deep Sea Demon Whale King would never have willingly sacrificed himself. In other words... the Deep Sea Demon Whale King could be considered killed by him?
Then this doesn't seem to be a misunderstanding.
