As the sun began to set, Dan Heng’s family carriage ca to a stop so they could prepare a picnic dinner.

This trip to the Fontaine Empire to attend the Soul Master Tournant had one the: enjoynt.

After getting off the carriage, they began to unpack the ingredients they had purchased and prepared for a barbecue together.

Naturally, the other three carriages traveling with them followed suit and started setting up their own campfires.

Zi Ji, carrying half a pig’s carcass, looked at the gathering crowd with a pout. "Like ghosts haunting us, why are they tagging along?"

She didn’t bother lowering her voice.

The elderly Long Gong ng Shu, sitting at the front, heard her clearly and flushed red with embarrassnt.

He shot a glare at his granddaughter, clearly thinking this awkward situation was her fault for offending Dan Heng’s family.

"Mr. Dan Heng, it’s been so long since we last t..."

Long Gong ng Shu approached and took a seat nearby.

Although they hadn’t interacted frequently, he always sent gifts during holidays and festivals, maintaining so level of social contact.

Dan Heng nodded slightly in response and returned the greeting.

Becoming a father had made him a bit more outgoing.

While he disliked aningless socializing, he didn’t want his children to grow up emotionally detached like him.

Long Gong ng Shu sighed. "Recently, my good-for-nothing granddaughter has brought much trouble to your family, Mr. Dan Heng. I just found out about it—I’m truly ashad."

ng Yiran lowered her head, her face flushing deep red.

Especially since her close friends Zhu Zhuqing and Zhu Zhuyun were right there—it made her even more embarrassed.

She was a twenty-year-old girl, after all. Thin-skinned.

"Grandpa..."ng Yiran tugged lightly at her grandfather’s sleeve, trying to stop him from continuing.

Shui Yue’er and Huo Wu ca over as well. Rather than cooking with their own teams, they sat near Bi Ji and listened in with curious expressions.

Long Gong ng Shu glared fiercely at ng Yiran. "Still have the face to interrupt ? Then why didn’t you think about your actions before?!"

ng Yiran’s face turned an even deeper red.

Dan Heng shook his head and said, "Elder ng, you’re mistaken. Yiran hasn’t caused us any trouble."

Long Gong ng Shu exhaled in relief but still kept his face stern.

"Sigh! Mr. Dan Heng, you don’t need to defend this girl. I know what she’s like—she might not say anything outright, but her attitude gives her away..."

He grabbed ng Yiran’s wrist angrily.

Snake Lady Chaotianxiang added, "Still, Yiran is just a young girl—immature. I hope you won’t take it to heart, Mr. Dan Heng..."

Dan Heng slightly shook his head. He genuinely didn’t feel ng Yiran had ever been rude to him.

Even if she had so dissatisfaction, she had never said anything directly.

"Elder ng is right!" Shui Yue’er chid in. "Yiran is just a bit full of herself, but she doesn’t an any harm."

"???"

Everyone looked at Shui Yue’er in surprise.

Why did she jump in now?

Huo Wu quickly pinched Shui Yue’er’s butt from behind.

"Yah!" Shui Yue’er yelped, rubbing her backside and shooting Huo Wu a confused look.

Then, realization dawned on her.

Maybe Elder ng had been trying to let the issue go with a light tone. But her comnt just now made the disrespect seem real and undeniable.

Now, if Elder ng didn’t show a strong response, it might appear that Dan Heng wasn’t being taken seriously.

Thinking that through, Shui Yue’er instantly regretted her words.

And sure enough, Elder ng’s just-erging smile vanished, replaced by a deep scowl.

He turned to ng Yiran, face darkening, fists clenching.

He really looked like he was ready to discipline her on the spot!

ng Yiran’s face turned deathly pale. She shot Shui Yue’er a fierce glare.

"I... I didn’t..."

Elder ng gritted his teeth. "Didn’t what? ng Yiran! Apologize to Mr. Dan Heng! Think about what you’ve done! In his ho—no gratitude, and you still dared to..."

He got more and more fired up, launching into a full-on scolding without rcy.

As a stern elder, once he started reprimanding, he held nothing back.

ng Yiran’s face was white and red in turns, her eyes brimming with tears.

Being publicly scolded in front of her close friends—it felt like being stripped naked in front of a crowd. Humiliating beyond belief!

"Elder ng, that’s too harsh. It’s not that serious..."

Dan Heng grabbed his wrist, frowning slightly.

Gu Yuena, holding little Bao’er, nodded. "That’s right. Yiran was well-behaved while staying with us."

Shui Yue’er nodded frantically. "I-I-I was just spouting nonsense earlier. Don’t take it seriously..."

"She’s my granddaughter—I know exactly what she’s like. Yiran, apologize...!"Elder ng’s tone was icy as he looked at ng Yiran.

She bit her lip, sniffled twice, then suddenly stood up and shouted:

"I didn’t do anything wrong! I don’t need to apologize!"

Then she turned and ran.

She really couldn’t take it anymore. The sha was overwhelming.

How was she supposed to face her girlfriends after this?

"Sigh, Yiran..." Snake Lady moved to chase after her.

But Elder ng grabbed her arm. "Let her be! She dares yell at her elder? She needs to reflect on her behavior!"

"You old man..." Snake Lady sighed but didn’t dare defy him.

Dan Heng massaged his temples. What a ss.

He looked at Zhu Zhuqing, who imdiately got up and ran after ng Yiran.

The other girls followed too.

Dan Heng turned to Elder ng. "You’re being too hard on her. Yiran didn’t do anything wrong."

Gu Yuena smiled. "But this might end up being good for her..."

Dan Heng glanced at her in surprise.

Gu Yuena’s eyes sparkled with amusent. She still rembered how ng Yiran once tried to compete with her for Dan Heng!

When Elder ng scolded Yiran earlier, Gu Yuena hadn’t said a single word to defend her.

Elder ng gave an awkward smile. "Mr. Dan Heng, you’re right, but I still think we can’t spoil the younger generation too much. Otherwise, they’ll beco wild..."

Suddenly, a shrill scream echoed from the distance.

There was a low hill nearby, and ng Yiran had run in that direction. The scream clearly ca from her—filled with panic and fear.

Elder ng couldn’t wait anymore and rushed toward the sound.

Dan Heng looked over. After confirming there was no fatal threat, he didn’t move.

Looking down, he saw that Zi Ji had stolen so of Zhu Zhuqing’s roasted at from the fire.

"Out...!"

Gu Yuena slapped Zi Ji’s back and gave her a cold glare.

Zi Ji shrank back and gave a sheepish laugh before scampering off.

Monts later—

Zhu Zhuqing ca running back with ng Yiran on her back. Elder ng and the other girls followed close behind.

Elder ng’s face was filled with anxiety. "Is there a healing-type soul master?!"

The other two teams stood up when they heard—but no one stepped forward.

Clearly, none of them had a healing-type soul master.

Zhu Zhuqing placed ng Yiran onto a carriage. Her face was pale, and her chest had a deep, bone-exposing claw wound.

Clearly caused by a soul beast.

To run into a soul beast in this area? Her luck was truly terrible.

Elder ng tried to stabilize her injury with soul power, but she groaned in pain.

Although the wound wasn’t fatal, if left untreated it could leave lasting damage—and likely a scar.

"Use the dicine first!" Snake Lady rushed forward to treat her.

The other teams also brought over bandages and salves.

But all they could do was ease her pain. The injury still carried hidden dangers.

The atmosphere grew heavy. Especially Shui Yue’er—her face went pale.

She couldn’t help but think: If I hadn’t spoken up earlier, maybe this wouldn’t have happened...

She looked at Dan Heng, opened her mouth—

—but said nothing.

She just looked at him with hopeful, pleading eyes.

Dan Heng waited a mont. Seeing no one else stepping up, he finally said:

"I’ve read a few dical books..."

As soon as he spoke, Elder ng hurried over carrying ng Yiran, eyes red. "Mr. Dan Heng, please—I beg you..."

Dan Heng looked at the wound and frowned slightly.

This girl really was unlucky.

Not only did she run into a soul beast, but she was injured in the heart ridian. If he weren’t here, with the current treatnt options, she would’ve ended up with permanent damage.

"Do you have silver needles?" Dan Heng asked.

"Silver needles..."

Dragon Duke ng Shu was stunned. But when he saw Dan Heng’s expression, his heart skipped a beat — this was definitely not sothing simple!

"We don’t... Does anyone have silver needles?"

Snake Granny turned to Tianxiang in a panic, sweating profusely.

Just then, a giggling sound rang out.

ng Shu’s face imdiately darkened, gritting his teeth as he turned toward the source of the voice.

But the mont he saw who it was, he suppressed his anger.

It was Gu Yuena... with the baby in her arms — Bao’er.

Bao’er waved at ng Yiran, who was in ng Shu’s arms.

A green light appeared in the air and flew toward ng Yiran’s chest.

The ferocious and deeply engraved wound on ng Yiran’s chest began to heal.

Under everyone’s shocked gaze, it took only a few breaths for the wound to completely close. From the outside, there wasn’t a single trace left.

It was as if it had just been painted on with a brush — now, there was no sign it had ever been there!

"This...!!!"

Everyone was dumbfounded.

Even healing-type soul masters couldn’t achieve this level of healing!

Yet now a baby who couldn’t even walk had done it...

And — was this really sothing a child from the Douluo Continent should be capable of?

The more they thought about it, the more absurd it felt — they didn’t even know what to say.

Cough, cough...!

ng Yiran coughed and slowly regained consciousness.

Seeing that she was in ng Shu’s arms, she let out a sigh of relief.

"Yiran, it was Grandfather’s fault. I shouldn’t have pressured you. If it weren’t for Mr. Dan Heng’s... child, you would be in danger right now. You must be grateful..."

ng Shu said.

ng Yiran paused in surprise. She was helped to her feet and stood up as if she hadn’t been injured at all. She opened her shirt — apart from the blood stains on her clothes, there was no trace of injury left!

If not for the lingering pain, she would have thought it had all been a bad dream.

She looked again at the baby in Gu Yuena’s arms — snow-white skin, giggling joyfully.

She hesitated for a mont, then nodded and said, "Thank you..."

Bao’er smiled even more brightly.

"Wow! Bao’er is amazing!" Shui Yue’er suddenly exclaid, rushing up next to Gu Yuena.

"Teacher Gu, can I hold Bao’er?"

Shui Yue’er was so excited that she was rubbing her hands together, eyes sparkling.

Her enthusiasm woke the others from their shock. They all began moving.

With such divine power, it was clear Bao’er wasn’t an ordinary person.

In the future, she would surely shine brightly.

Especially now that the gods were descending — she might be acknowledged by them and even receive a divine inheritance!

"I want to hold Bao’er too! She’s just too cute!"

Huo Wu ca over with a glowing face, even spinning her eyes as she wondered how to beco sworn sisters with Bao’er.

She had once wanted to be Dan Heng’s adopted daughter, after all!

"I want to hold her too! too!"

Xiao Wu bounced like a rabbit, incredibly excited.

Bao’er blinked her big eyes, realizing how popular she was, and giggled even more joyfully.

Everyone who heard her laugh felt their mood lift.

This was the divine aura that Bao’er naturally carried.

No god from the Douluo Continent would ever harbor any ill will toward her!

Gu Yuena didn’t mind any of this. Since Shui Yue’er and the others wanted to hold her and Bao’er was willing, she handed her over to Shui Yue’er first.

Shui Yue’er imdiately beca extrely cautious and gentle.

The other girls waited nearby.

On the Heaven Water Battle Team’s side, Shui Bing’er and the others looked over, a flicker of desire in their eyes.

She wanted to join the fun too, but her personality was more reserved — not like Shui Yue’er who was outgoing and friendly. So she could only quietly envy them in her heart.

ng Yiran stood still, head lowered, not stepping forward.

ng Shu sighed. As expected, he couldn’t count on his own granddaughter — it was truly difficult for her to establish a good connection with Mr. Dan Heng.

At the sa ti, in Heaven Dou City, many people were preparing to head to the Fontain Empire. These included powerful figures from major forces, like Sword Douluo, Qian Daoliu, Tang Xiao, and other Titled Douluo.

All of them had received divine inheritances. But after a long period with no divine ssages, they had started to feel uneasy.

After discussing together, they actually decided to set out as a group.

"The gods once said that soul beasts also received divine inheritances. That’s why the difficulty was lowered, giving us a chance too... I’m afraid those soul beasts might be ahead of us in progress."

"Not necessarily. Everyone, don’t let others shake your confidence and dampen your own spirits. Soul beasts are crude and lack foresight. I heard they’ve appeared in the Fontain Empire — let’s go and see for ourselves!"

"..."

Everyone had different thoughts — so were confident, so were worried.

Only Yu Yuanzhen looked bitter. He was the only one who hadn’t received a divine inheritance. Now he was joining the journey, hoping to prove himself and perhaps be acknowledged by the gods.
