Still shaken by the earlier attack of the Green Ghost Leeches, they now found themselves staring at the terrifying figure of a creature cloaked in thick black mist, mixed with flickering tongues of fire.
It resembled the mutated Man-Faced Demon Spider they had fought the day before, yet its aura was far more nacing.
The black mist montarily cleared around its head, revealing eight scarlet eyes that radiated cold malice.
Without hesitation, Fang Chang activated his Leap skill, launching himself toward the two Soul Kings at the forefront of the group.
The two Soul Kings were startled but quickly activated their martial souls.
The one on the left summoned a Brown Bear, its spirit body enveloping him as he crossed his arms to brace for impact.
The one on the right wielded a Silver Hamr, raising it overhead, ready to strike.
Fang Chang sneered and activated Blade Armor, charging straight at them.
The hamr-wielding Soul King struck first, swinging his weapon down toward Fang Chang, but it collided with Fang Chang's shield-like legs.
"Clang!"
The hamr was deflected, spinning out of the Soul King's grip. The man staggered back, vomiting blood as he dropped to one knee.
anwhile, Fang Chang's other shield leg slamd into the bear martial soul user, breaking his defensive stance. A sickening crack sounded as the man's arms fractured, and he was sent rolling into a tent.
His burned, blackened arms and rapidly spreading greenish-purple discoloration made it clear that he had been poisoned.
With just one clash, Fang Chang incapacitated two Soul Kings, leaving the remaining human soul masters trembling in fear.
Ignoring the others, Fang Chang turned his attention to a collapsed figure on the ground—a Soul King who had narrowly survived the Green Ghost Leeches but was still unconscious.
Without hesitation, Fang Chang's spider leg pierced the man's chest, ending his life instantly.
The three mbers of the Golden Generation finally reacted, forming a defensive formation.
Yan moved to the front, his Fla Lord martial soul flaring to life. Behind him, Hu Liena and Xie Yue began a complex series of hand seals, preparing to unleash their Martial Soul Fusion Skill.
Fang Chang, however, had no intention of letting them succeed.
Using Leap, he closed the distance to Yan in an instant, his shield legs aiming for the Fla Lord's head.
The twin spider legs swooped down with a whistling sound. Yan barely had ti to raise his arms in defense as his martial soul condensed around him for protection.
The impact was overwhelming.
Yan's arms gave out imdiately, and the shield legs smashed into his head. His vision blurred, his consciousness fading as he collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
In the back, Hu Liena and Xie Yue took a step back, successfully completing their Martial Soul Fusion Skill just as Yan fell.
A red mist enveloped the battlefield, disrupting Fang Chang's senses and slowing his movents.
Before he could react, a series of attacks rained down on him, producing sharp tallic clashes.
Cursing silently, Fang Chang activated Harden, bolstering his defense to withstand the barrage.
He then activated Dragon Blood Lv2, boosting his strength and agility, and followed it up with Shadow Clone, creating three identical duplicates to confuse his enemies.
The strategy worked. Hu Liena and Xie Yue hesitated, their attacks hitting a clone instead of the real Fang Chang.
Seizing the opportunity, Fang Chang's spider leg lashed out, piercing Xie Yue's shoulder. The injury disrupted the Martial Soul Fusion Skill, causing the red mist to dissipate.
With their strongest technique interrupted, the siblings were no match for Fang Chang. He swatted them aside, sending them tumbling across the ground.
Having subdued the Golden Generation, Fang Chang turned his attention to the remaining human soul masters.
Three blood-curdling screams echoed through the swamp, marking their demise.
Finally, Fang Chang looked back at the unconscious trio of the Golden Generation.
He hesitated briefly, his thoughts wavering, before stepping toward them.
