A day in the divine realm is equivalent to a year in the mortal world. By the ti the gods finished their eting and preparations, nearly half a year had passed on the Douluo Continent.
During this period, aside from a few minor conflicts between the Spider God Cult and the Spirit Hall in the Star Luo Empire, the continent had been relatively peaceful. After a series of large-scale battles, it seed to have finally entered a brief period of calm.
However, one day, an anomaly suddenly appeared on the Spider God Island (forrly known as the Sea God Island). The sea water began to churn and flow backward, and a vast expanse of blue light descended from the sky. Countless sea creatures, as if summoned by so force, began to swarm toward the island.
On a hidden archipelago about two hundred miles from Spider God Island, Bo Saixi gazed at the anomaly with tears streaming down her face.
"The great Sea God has finally rembered his people! This ti, he must be here to help us reclaim Sea God Island!"
Hearing her words, the two hundred or so sea soul masters behind her, their eyes filled with hatred, began to cheer and dance as if celebrating a monuntal event.
The anomaly lasted for an entire day. The Sea Spider Clan dispatched several Bloodwing Demon Spiders to deliver the news to the underground nest in the Star Dou Forest. Fang Chang, upon receiving the ssage, was montarily stunned.
"So, they've finally made their move," Fang Chang muttered. He had long anticipated that the gods would intervene, given his actions on the continent and the fact that his soul power had reached 990,000 years, nearing the million-year threshold.
He had been preparing for this day for a long ti. Without hesitation, he led a large number of Bloodwing Demon Spiders toward Spider God Island, leaving the smaller spiders behind in the nest.
The Sea Spider Clan now numbered around 50,000, and with the 20,000 Bloodwing Demon Spiders Fang Chang brought from the nest, he had a total of 70,000 troops at his disposal.
The anomaly continued to expand, and within the blue light, a majestic figure seed to be descending from the heavens.
Calculating the ti, only a few minutes had passed in the divine realm since the anomaly first appeared. The gods were in no hurry, but Fang Chang was growing increasingly restless.
Based on his deductions, the gods would likely not descend in their true forms. Instead, they would probably send an avatar, much like the Sea God had done when dealing with the Deep Sea Demon Whale King.
Given the location of the anomaly, it was almost certain that the Sea God would be involved. The question was whether he would co alone or with others.
At a certain mont, the blue light suddenly intensified, and the previously indistinct figure solidified into a clear form.
He appeared to be around forty years old, tall and imposing, with an air of natural authority. However, his expression seed slightly stiff, as if there was a delay between his thoughts and his facial movents.
As he appeared, the sea soul masters who had been in hiding for years surged out of their hiding places and charged toward Spider God Island.
On Spider God Island, about a thousand soul masters who worshipped the Spider God Cult watched nervously as the figure in the sky seed to turn his gaze toward them.
The next mont, the man in the sky raised his right hand, and a golden trident flew out from Sea God Island, landing in his grasp and adding to his imposing presence.
As he appeared, the anomaly in the sky gradually dissipated, and the blue light soon faded away.
Fang Chang let out a sigh of relief. "Good, it's just him."
The Sea God had once sent an avatar to deal with the Deep Sea Demon Whale King, but even then, the avatar had only managed to blind one of its eyes.
Now, although Fang Chang's soul power was similar to that of the Deep Sea Demon Whale King at that ti, his actual strength far surpassed it. He was confident he could handle the Sea God's avatar.
"Who is Fang Chang? Tell that stinking spider to co and face !" the Sea God's avatar shouted toward Spider God Island. His voice, though not loud, carried imnse force, causing the ears of the soul masters on the island to bleed.
After all, he was a god, and even as an avatar, his presence was overwhelming.
In the waters near Spider God Island, a large number of spider soul beasts began to rise from the depths. Leading them was Fang Chang, his gaze fixed firmly on the Sea God's avatar.
"Just an avatar, and you dare cause trouble on my turf? You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror before you act so high and mighty," Fang Chang retorted, stepping forward to et the Sea God's oppressive aura.
His words shocked the soul masters on the island, but what stunned them even more was the realization that the massive, dark golden spider speaking was none other than their Spider God Envoy, Fang Chang.
The sea soul masters who had just arrived were equally dumbfounded. The Sea God, whom they revered as the supre being, was being insulted by a spider.
The Sea God's avatar remained expressionless. "Hmph, you're still running your mouth even now. Do you really think I can't deal with you?"
"You? You're not enough," Fang Chang shot back, spreading his blood-red wings and flying toward the Sea God. "If your true form were here, I might show you so respect. But with just an avatar, you're nothing but hot air."
The Sea God's avatar, infuriated, stopped wasting words and swung his trident at Fang Chang.
Fang Chang, now in his full spider form, raised his two shield-like forelegs, and a barrier of light ford, blocking the Sea God's strike.
A deafening explosion erupted from the point of impact, followed by three shockwaves that rippled across the sea. Yet, the spider remained unmoved.
Not only that, but Fang Chang then unleashed a cloud of black venom from his mouth, forcing the Sea God's avatar to dodge. This caused the trident to lose contact with Fang Chang, who imdiately counterattacked, thrusting his eight legs toward the avatar's back.
The Sea God's avatar, unable to block in ti, activated a burst of blue light from his eyes, which then enveloped his entire body. The light exploded, sending Fang Chang flying backward.
The two separated, both looking at each other with surprise.
The Sea God was shocked by how formidable this spider was—far more troubleso than the Deep Sea Demon Whale King he had faced before.
Fang Chang, on the other hand, was surprised by how weak the Sea God's avatar seed. It hadn't even managed to break his defenses. For a mont, he wondered if all the gods were this weak, but he quickly dismissed the thought. This was just an avatar, after all.
After a brief silence, the Sea God's avatar charged again, his power noticeably stronger than before.
By now, the Sea God was fighting in earnest. He was being watched by all the gods in the divine realm. If he lost to a spider, he would lose all standing among them.
At this point, he had pushed the avatar's power to its limit, reaching about 50-60% of his true strength.
Fang Chang, anwhile, had all eight of his eyes glowing red as he transford into a streak of light, colliding with the Sea God's avatar.
This battle was a matter of pride for him as well. He wanted to prove to the gods that even as a spider, he was not a pawn they could control. His fate was his own to decide!
"My destiny is mine to control, not the heavens'!"
