"Sister, let's go."

Qian Renjue smiled and took Hu Liena's small hand, leading her outside.

"Senior brother~"

Hu Liena instinctively tried to pull her hand away.

She stared closely at Qian Renxue, knowing she couldn't compete for attention with Miss Xue.

What surprised her was that Qian Renxue showed no reaction and simply linked arms with Qian Renjue on his other side, walking quietly.

Seeing this, Hu Liena's eyes lit up with excitent, and she clung tightly to Qian Renjue's arm as if it were a rare treasure.

The dissatisfaction she felt earlier completely vanished, replaced by overwhelming joy.

Emboldened, she made a request.

"Senior brother, I want so candied hawthorn!"

"No problem."

Qian Renjue smiled and agreed, then turned to Dugu Yan.

"Yanyan, you should be more familiar with this place, right?"

"Don't worry, Your Highness. This maid understands."

Dugu Yan smiled and took a glance, grabbing Qian Renjue's clothes.

"Ahem. Don't refer to yourself as a maid outside."

"Yes!"

Dugu Yan's face flushed red, but she seed to enjoy this small private joke between her and His Highness.

Qian Renxue glanced at the two won on the other side.

It seed her idea of "controlling all the sisters-in-law" wasn't for nothing after all.

...

The group of four stepped onto the lively street, with Ling Yuan Douluo secretly guarding them.

Heaven Dou City, one of the most prosperous cities on the continent, remained dazzling even at night.

The streets were decorated with lanterns, and the comrcial district was packed with people.

Hu Liena was thrilled, rushing over to see every performance she passed.

Every so often, she called out to her senior brother, while letting Dugu Yan take her place at Qian Renjue's side.

Even Qian Renjue struggled to take it all in—there was so much to see.

In front of so shops, there were girls dressed in strange outfits, with only three shells covering their private parts.

"Senior brother, don't look!"

Hu Liena jumped out from sowhere and raised her hand to block his view, drawing the attention of both Qian Renxue and Dugu Yan.

When they looked at the shop nearby, their faces flushed slightly.

"Jue, you really should behave."

Qian Renxue pinched Qian Renjue's waist as a warning.

"Sister, I just glanced out of curiosity. I wasn't staring. Really."

Qian Renjue earnestly explained, though it was unclear how much Qian Renxue and the others believed him.

"You better be."

Qian Renxue rolled her eyes at her brother, who was starting to take an interest in won, but she let go of her grip.

She believed he hadn't really been ogling, since those won were nothing special compared to the "busty plant" she knew he held dear in his heart.

Relieved, Qian Renjue shot a quick glance at the carefree Hu Liena.

"Senior brother, the candied hawthorn is over there!"

Hu Liena, unaware of the tension, pointed excitedly at a vendor nearby.

"Yeah, I see it."

Qian Renjue nodded and, shaking off the earlier awkwardness, and he moved toward the stall.

Hu Liena eagerly watched him.

Her favorite things were candied hawthorn and the pacifiers her senior brother gave her.

Even though she had money, she loved it when Qian Renjue bought things for her.

"You should really wipe that grin off your face," Qian Renxue, standing beside her, reminded her. "My patience has its limits."

"Ah!"

Hu Liena imdiately covered her mouth.

"Ha ha."

Dugu Yan laughed, then respectfully said to Qian Renxue, "Thank you, Miss Xue."

Hu Liena also quickly caught up and thanked Qian Renxue.

"Don't get too carried away."

Qian Renxue tilted her head slightly, her eyes issuing a silent warning.

"Mhm, mhm."

Even if she couldn't quite understand Qian Renxue's intentions, Hu Liena nodded repeatedly.

Dugu Yan, on the other hand, wasn't too bothered.

She clearly rembered when Qian Renxue had trained her to be a maid and had ntioned sharing Qian Renjue's bed.

The situation may be different now, but that opportunity still existed.

"Nana, senior brother brought it back for you. Sister, Yanyan, there's enough for everyone."

Qian Renjue's cheerful voice rang out.

"So much!"

Hu Liena exclaid in surprise.

Qian Renxue could only shake her head and smile. "Jue, why did you carry the whole bunch of straw sticks back?"

"Well, Nana isn't the only one who likes it, so I bought a lot."

Qian Renjue, carrying the whole bunch of candied hawthorn, laughed and pulled off a stick. "Sister, here you go."

"Mm."

Qian Renxue accepted it, satisfied.

"Senior brother, feed !"

Hu Liena opened her mouth, waiting for Qian Renjue to feed her.

Instead, Qian Renjue tipped the whole bunch over and called out, "Yanyan, Nana, take however much you want!"

"Thank you, Your Highness!"

Dugu Yan grinned and pulled one out, then imdiately shoved it into Hu Liena's still-open mouth.

"Ah!"

Hu Liena squealed and pulled it out, exclaiming, "You nasty snake! I want senior brother to do it."

"Stupid fox! I'm just helping you get a taste!"

...

Qian Renjue sighed helplessly, watching the two won chase each other around in playful mischief.

He could only shake his head with a smile.

"Jue, when do you plan to go ho?"

Qian Renxue, uninterested in the girls' antics, stayed close to Qian Renjue.

"Tomorrow, so mom doesn't worry."

Qian Renjue smiled.

He was just about to take one of the candied hawthorn for himself when Qian Renxue pinched one and gently placed it at his lips.

"Thanks, big sister."

Qian Renjue didn't refuse, taking a bite.

He let Qian Renxue's finger push the glossy hawthorn into his mouth.

"Alright, now it's Jue's turn to feed sister."

Qian Renxue smiled, pressing close to his side with her lips slightly parted, waiting for the sour treat.

She didn't like sour things, but this was a nostalgic mory from her childhood with Jue.

Savoring the sweet fruit, Qian Renxue felt content.

The brother and sister strolled together through the crowd while holding hands

"Sister, you should be cautious with the royal family matters. We don't want any instability."

Hearing his concern, Qian Renxue nodded, pleased. "Don't worry, I understand."

"Ha ha, senior brother! That stupid snake got ditched by Nana!"

Hu Liena suddenly appeared, her smug expression quickly replaced by surprise as Dugu Yan jumped out from behind Qian Renjue.

"No way! I've been waiting for you!"

"Ah!"

...

Qian Renjue and Qian Renxue exchanged smiles.

Qian Renxue realized she always seed to be competing with these younger girls.

But who could bla her? They were always trying to win over Jue.

...

At sunrise, as the morning light spread, Qian Renjue, Ling Yuan, and Hu Liena had already set off for ho.

Ye Lingling, dressed in a nightgown, leaned on her hand, reading the farewell letter Qian Renjue had sent at dawn. A shy smile spread across her face.

"Jue... I suppose I can call you that, right? Until we et again."

"My first... and perhaps my only."

Ye Lingling murmured, gazing toward the sunrise where Qian Renjue's figure seed to appear faintly.
