TL: GoldenLung

Yan Cheng shook his head. “No, such cases are exceedingly rare. Generally speaking, both the Dragon Knight and the mount-dragon are Higher Dragons. They are the closest of partners.

“The only ti a master–servant relationship appears is under special circumstances—when the two were originally rivals, or did not acknowledge one another, yet possessed similar strength and were well-matched to form a pair. After a decisive battle, the victor, in the presence of the other Dragon Knights, compels the defeated party to acknowledge them as master. Among the eighteen Dragon Knights, only three lords ca together in this way.”

With that explanation, Lan Xuanyu imdiately understood. The Ink Dragon Knight Luo Lan must be one of those three, while the Darkfiend Dragon Knight Luo Yayuan—whom he had seen yesterday—clearly was not.

One could tell simply from the way they interacted with their mount-dragons.

“Then what is the usual relationship between other Dragon Knights and their mounts?” Bai Xiuxiu asked. “If they are not master and servant, are they still very close?” As she spoke, she glanced at Lan Xuanyu and pouted slightly.

Yan Cheng replied, “When not bound by servitude, the relationship between a Dragon Knight and a mount-dragon generally falls into a few categories. So are brothers, sharing blood ties—the stronger becos the Dragon Knight, the weaker serves as the mount.

“Others are cases where the Dragon Knight challenged and defeated the mount-dragon, earning its recognition. They then form an equal symbiotic contract. This is the most common situation—seven Dragon Knights are paired in this way. As for married couples becoming Dragon Knights, that is comparatively rare.

“But regardless of the circumstance, the bond between Dragon Knight and mount-dragon is always extrely close.”

At that last possibility, Lan Xuanyu broke into a grin and raised an eyebrow at Bai Xiuxiu. He did not press further. Though he could determine Yan Cheng’s life or death, caution was still paramount on Celestial Dragon Planet.

Through this exchange, both Lan Xuanyu and Bai Xiuxiu gained a deeper understanding of Dragon Knights.

Back in their quarters, they entered their room together. The first round had passed smoothly. Although Lan Xuanyu had not fought, he had gained a servant and learned much about the Dragon Knights—altogether a fruitful day.

Two elimination rounds remained. Win them both, and they would advance to the round-robin stage. Compared to the Lower and Interdiate dragons, their matches were truly far less taxing.

“Xuanyu, does this an we can’t hunt dragons for now?” Bai Xiuxiu asked softly.

Lan Xuanyu nodded. “During the Rising Dragon Competition, we absolutely cannot hunt dragons. I don’t know how many Dragon Knights are watching, but my performance has certainly drawn attention. We’ll compete quietly—observe more, learn more.

“Besides, I’ve realized that hunting dragons isn’t the only way to temper the body. Cultivating atop the Rising Dragon Platform is even more effective than dragon-hunting. You can also cultivate in the Dragon Force Hall. The mysteries of Celestial Dragon Planet are far deeper than we imagined. We’ll take it one step at a ti.”

He paused, then added thoughtfully, “And I have a feeling that the dragon beings here, after undergoing the Dragonification, cannot truly be called pseudo-dragons. In a sense, they may be considered True Dragons. Whether it was yesterday’s Dragon Ascension or today’s dragon roar, both stirred my Dragon God bloodline. I even glimpsed a vision of the Dragon God ruling over the dragon race. It left … unable to strike at them.”

“Unable to strike?” Bai Xiuxiu blinked in surprise.

Lan Xuanyu nodded. “Though the Dragon-Horse Galaxy stands opposed to our Federation, that conflict stems from developnt and expansion—it has little to do with individual species or beings. We seek victory for humanity’s future.

“They wish to devour us for their own growth. We represent the Federation and must fight for it. But if there were another way to claim everything here peacefully, that would naturally be preferable.”

Bai Xiuxiu stared at him. “You have a new idea?”

Lan Xuanyu smiled. “Today’s master–servant contract inspired . I bear the Dragon God’s bloodline. The ultimate aim of my cultivation is to reclaim the Dragon God’s throne. In the dragon race, bloodline is supre. If I beco the Dragon God, would that not an every dragon here must submit to ? If so, there would be no need for war with Celestial Dragon Planet. Everything here would naturally belong to the Federation.

“My true enemy is only the Head of Celestial Dragon Planet.”

Bai Xiuxiu frowned slightly. “But who knows how long it will take for you to beco the Dragon God? What if the Federation goes to war before then? Your idea is far too idealistic.”

Lan Xuanyu chuckled. “You misunderstand. I’m not saying we will cease opposing the dragons entirely or stop hunting them. Rather, from now on, we must distinguish between them.

“The dragons here have long stood at the top of the food chain, arrogant and domineering. Few truly preserve their original hearts. In future hunts, we should target only those who commit grievous wrongs. Then, if one day I truly unite the dragon race, I will harbor no guilt.

“And there is another benefit—if we eliminate only the wicked dragons, then even if we are discovered, we will have grounds for explanation and room to maneuver.”

Only then did Bai Xiuxiu fully grasp his aning. She sighed softly. “You really do think far ahead, Your Highness the Golden Dragon Princess.”

At the first half of her sentence, Lan Xuanyu had been smiling. But at the latter half, he flew into exaggerated “rage,” pulling her into his arms.

“Don’t do that,” Bai Xiuxiu protested, her cheeks flushed crimson. “I’m afraid I might start liking you in won’s clothing.”

Golden Dragon Princess…

Lan Xuanyu’s heart twitched violently. At that mont, he felt an overwhelming urge to thrash Yan Cheng. It was that fellow who had shouted out the title. Now the entire dragon race—and perhaps even all the other races on Celestial Dragon Planet watching the Rising Dragon Competition—knew it.

In truth, it was more than re awareness. Within a shockingly short ti, the Golden Dragon Princess had risen to teoric fa, renowned across the entire planet.

Among intelligent races, certain instincts are universal—idol worship being one of them. In human society, the Douluo Federation had its own idols; the most famous among them is Mister Le. Never in his wildest dreams had Lan Xuanyu imagined that upon arriving in the Dragon-Horse Galaxy, on Celestial Dragon Planet, he would beco an idol himself within just two days. And among all races on the planet, the dragon race stood at the pinnacle.

Though many races feared and resented dragons, deep down they all harbored hope—hope for another Dragonification, for a chance to beco powerful dragons themselves, or to unite with one so their offspring might inherit dragon blood. After all, female dragons were exceedingly rare.

Lan Xuanyu’s appearance had not only sent the young male dragons into a frenzy—it had stirred the passions of every race.

What was an idol? An idol was the object of everyone’s fantasies.

Won longed to beco her. n dread that so miracle might grant them such a mate.

Thus, in an astonishingly brief span of ti, the na of the Golden Dragon Princess spread across the planet.

On the following day, Lan Xuanyu experienced firsthand the weight of his newfound fa.

The mont he stepped out of his residence and onto Dragon Avenue, cheers erupted like rolling thunder.

“Golden Dragon Princess! Golden Dragon Princess!”

The cries did not co solely from dragons, but from the myriad races lining both sides of Dragon Avenue. Their eyes burned with fervor. Even after Lan Xuanyu boarded the dragon carriage, the cheers did not diminish in the slightest.
