At that very mont, the scene before his eyes suddenly turned illusory. The once-clear sky seed to descend into chaos in an instant.
Mist filled the heavens. From within that haze, it felt as though sothing was calling out to him. The sensation was exactly the sa as when he had first arrived at Celestial Dragon City—and this ti, the call was even clearer.
The mist slowly parted to either side, and a vision gradually erged before him. The mont Lan Xuanyu saw it, his entire body began to tremble uncontrollably. Even though he knew the Darkfiend Dragon Knight was still beside him, he could not suppress the shock coursing through him.
The scene was far too familiar.
It was a vast valley. Within it, countless dragons soared and danced through the air. These were not pseudo-dragons, but True Dragons—one after another. So chased each other through the skies, so lifted their heads and let out resounding roars, while others lay sprawled lazily across the ground.
At the very center of the valley lay an incomparably enormous dragon, its body so massive that its true size was impossible to fathom. Nine-colored light shimred across the scales covering its entire body. It was facing away from Lan Xuanyu, yet even so, he could clearly feel its boundless majesty.
More importantly, this scene stirred a deep sense of déjà vu within him. He had seen sothing similar before—during one of his breakthroughs.
The valley before him was filled with harmony. There was no war, no destruction. Dragons flew freely, exuding vitality and prosperity.
At that mont, the nine-colored giant dragon slowly rose to its feet. Its colossal head turned gradually.
The instant Lan Xuanyu t its enormous draconic eyes, a sharp clang echoed within his mind.
His Sea of Consciousness felt as if it had exploded. Countless images flooded his awareness in a frenzy. His head felt as though it were about to burst apart. Unable to endure it, he let out a scream, clutching his head as he collapsed to the ground.
All the illusions vanished in an instant.
Lan Xuanyu could no longer suppress his bloodline. It surged violently within him, raging out of control. Inside his body, it was as if an august gaze had appeared—one filled with indescribable authority.
Under that gaze, the golden bloodline and the silver bloodline no longer clashed. Instead, they began to rge rapidly.
A layer of seven-colored scales instantly surfaced beneath Lan Xuanyu’s skin, spreading across his entire body. His form transford uncontrollably, turning into a dragon—a colossal seven-colored dragon nearly forty ters long, radiating dazzling multicolored light.
Seeing this, Bai Xiuxiu, who was standing at a distance, was struck with terror. She had no idea what Lan Xuanyu was experiencing, only that his Dragon God Transformation had been forcibly triggered.
And standing before him was the Darkfiend Dragon Knight!
Without the slightest hesitation, Bai Xiuxiu rushed toward Lan Xuanyu at full speed. In that instant, only one emotion filled her heart—despair.
It’s over. Everything is over.
He had been exposed!
Yet what she did not know was that the Darkfiend Dragon Knight—who had remained calm the entire ti—was now staring fixedly at Lan Xuanyu. His eyes were filled with shock, and even his mouth had fallen slightly open.
A stream of gray air blocked Bai Xiuxiu’s path, freezing her in place. At the sa ti, the imnse gray dragon, more than four hundred ters in length, slowly rose from the ground.
Invisible pressure spread outward, suppressing all the contestants who had ascended the Rising Dragon Platform.
Huang Yuanlang had just managed to fly onto the platform, completely exhausted. He happened to witness the mont Lan Xuanyu transford into a seven-colored dragon and collapsed.
He was instantly dumbfounded, utterly unable to comprehend what was happening.
Under the overwhelming pressure emitted by the gray dragon, every dragon present knelt on one knee.
That was the mount of a Dragon Knight—a being whose status was second only to the Dragon Knight himself.
Darkfiend Dragon Knight Luo Yayuan stared intently at Lan Xuanyu as he rolled on the ground in agony. Yet he did not attack. His gaze flickered continuously as he looked at the seven-colored scales covering Lan Xuanyu’s body.
If anyone could have seen Luo Yayuan’s expression clearly at that mont, they would have discovered that there was no hostility in his eyes—only shock and joy.
Lan Xuanyu felt as though his mind was about to explode. Too much information had been forcibly poured into him all at once. Fragnted images flickered nonstop, like a movie being played at high speed—yet the plot itself was shattered and incomplete.
He could only make out so of the fragnts, including the scene he had once witnessed of the dragon race’s ultimate annihilation.
After an unknown amount of ti, the searing pain gradually faded. Lan Xuanyu’s consciousness slowly returned.
He was shocked to discover that the seven-colored Dragon God bloodline power within his dragon core had been completely exhausted, as if it had just been burned away. A profound sense of weakness washed over him.
His body reverted uncontrollably back to human form.
Of course, the Treasure Seeking Beast’s disguise was still in effect, so he was still “Lan.”
He lay prone on the ground, gasping for breath. At that mont, a powerful hand slipped under his arm and lifted him up.
“Are you all right?”
A gentle voice sounded.
Lan Xuanyu struggled to raise his head and saw that it was the Darkfiend Dragon Knight, Luo Yayuan, who had helped him up.
“Dragon Knight, I—”
Luo Yayuan waved his hand, cutting him off.
“Don’t speak. Rest here for now. Your consumption just now was enormous. Your situation… is special.”
He paused briefly, then continued, his voice carrying a hint of emotion.
“To think that after cultivating bitterly for so many years, after waiting for so long, we’ve finally seen a glimr of hope. You did very well.”
“Cultivate here. I will report your situation to the Head.”
Lan Xuanyu felt bitter inside.
The Head of Celestial Dragon Planet has seen
before… Can I really fool him?
What had just happened to him? There was no doubt that the nine-colored giant dragon he had seen was the Dragon God. A single backward glance from it had triggered such a massive reaction, leading to everything that followed.
Yet he had no choice. Even if he wanted to run, he was far too weak to do so.
He could only follow Luo Yayuan’s instructions, sitting down cross-legged where he was and focusing on absorbing the surrounding dragon energy.
The Darkfiend Dragon Knight swept his gaze across the distant dragons, his voice suddenly turning icy cold.
“All of you, listen carefully. No one is allowed to approach her. Violators—death. Anyone who leaks what happened today—death.”
After leaving those words behind, a black portal of light abruptly appeared behind him. In the next instant, his body was swallowed by the portal and vanished without a trace.
Though the Darkfiend Dragon Knight was gone, his mount remained.
The gray dragon slowly walked toward Lan Xuanyu and then lay down again not far from him, its massive body curling protectively around him.
The restraints on Bai Xiuxiu disappeared. She stood there, dazed.
Just monts ago, she had been drowning in despair—yet the situation before her eyes was nothing like what she had imagined.
Not only had the Darkfiend Dragon Knight not been enraged by what happened to Lan Xuanyu, he had even seed… pleased.
Where had the Darkfiend Dragon Knight gone?
If he had discovered that they were spies, surely he wouldn’t have handled it this way. At the very least, he should have taken Lan Xuanyu away, not left him here to cultivate.
Blocked by the gray dragon’s enormous body, she couldn’t see Lan Xuanyu’s condition, nor did she dare use her spiritual power to contact him.
After all, that gray dragon was at least an eleventh-tier existence.
