Chapter 696: Chapter 695: Asking for Punishnt

Lu Xinlong hadn’t expected the deeds he’d committed to be exposed so quickly. Facing those pairs of eyes in the hall that seed ready to devour him felt like a bucket of ice-cold water pouring down, chilling him to the core; his drunkenness vanished in an instant.

"Beast, are you listening to ? Is what Young Master Ma said true?" As soon as Lu Da saw the horrified expression on his son’s face, as if he had seen a ghost, his heart skipped a beat.

This wretch, could he really be so audacious and have actually done it?

"Father, that’s not the case, how could I do such a thing? What benefit would that be to ?" Lu Xinlong stuttered, attempting to wriggle out of the accusation.

But the more he tried to defend himself, the fine sweat on his forehead began to seep out like water, and his evasive gaze—how could anyone believe he was innocent?

Mayor Ma’s face imdiately stretched long.

"Your benefit was selling the good pigs and pocketing the Silver to live a carefree and happy life, wooing beauties. Don’t think you hid it well; I saw the Golden Hairpin you gave to Little Flower Fairy!" Ma Guang scoffed coldly, "Now, that’s truly a fine hairpin indeed!"

Lu Xinlong’s body shuddered, "I, I..."

"You worthless dog!" Lu Da instantly kicked him, sending him tumbling to the ground in a heap.

Lu Xinlong cried out in pain, "Father, I didn’t do it!"

Eldest Sister-in-law Lu burst in from outside and helped her son up, her voice fierce, "Can’t you speak kindly? Why must you hit him like this? If you’re going to hit soone, then beat

to death as well!"

"Get out!" Lu Da, unable to contain his anger, pointed at her and cursed loudly, "Too many mothers spoil their children. It’s n talking here; no place for a woman to chi in."

Eldest Sister-in-law Lu clung tightly to her son, refusing to back down an inch.

Seeing this, Lu Da trembled with rage and turned to Mayor Ma, "Mayor, I apologize for this embarrassnt."

"This isn’t a matter of laughter or not. I think we should get to the bottom of this quickly. If it blows up later, it will be too late to contain the damage," Mayor Ma said.

"Uncle, Mayor Ma is right. I’ll go check out the pig farm and see what’s going on, shall I?" Lu Xinxing volunteered, ignoring the poisoned look from his older brother.

"Go, and co back quickly with a report."

Lu Xinxing took his leave and walked out straightaway.

"Aren’t you going to tell the truth? Do you want us all to die with you? Where have all those pigs gone?" Lu Da bellowed, "Do you not realize that sick pigs can harm people?"

Lu Xinlong hung his head and said nothing.

Eldest Sister-in-law Lu piped up, "It’s just a few pigs; what’s the big deal? We’ve sold pigs before!"

Lu Da’s face turned pale, "Foolish woman, shut your mouth!"

Through generations of butchering, it was under his managent that the business truly flourished. Aside from being bold yet cautious, he had also done quite a few things not commonly known.

Like these sick pigs. As butchers, they slaughtered pigs every day, and it was inevitable to encounter a few that weren’t good, but they were still sold mixed in with the good at, and everything had always been fine.

Little did he know, his wife would blurt it out so thoughtlessly right in front of Mayor Ma.

Lu Da wanted to strangle the fool and forced an awkward smile toward Mayor Ma, "Mayor Ma, why don’t you sit down and have so tea first? Our pig farm did well last year, and this year I want to expand further and increase your shareholding by another ten percent. After all, the success of this pig farm is all thanks to your strong support."

Ma Guang’s eyes lit up, thinking that Lu Da really knew how to handle things.

anwhile, Lu Xinlong sitting on the ground turned as dark as thunder; the previous forty percent of shares weren’t enough, and now another ten percent? As if it wouldn’t be enough to just give them the entire pig farm!
