Chapter 612: Chapter 611: Beating Up Madam Lu

If they had known it would co to this, why did they ever bother starting?

This thought applied not only to Zhou Xiuer, the foolishly whimsical fool, but also to her pair of greedily inclined parents.

It wasn’t until Zhou Xuennian and Madam Lu were thrown into the dungeon that they realized everything was not a dream; they were indeed trapped in this dark, sunless hell.

“Let

out, let

out, I’m innocent, innocent!” Madam Lu, clutching the iron bars of the prison, had been shouting until her voice was hoarse, not having taken a sip of water since her incarceration.

“Yell all you want, keep it up, and you’ll be punished!” A nacing Yan Runner strode over with a murderous aura, knocking on the bars with the hilt of his sword, producing an ear-piercing clang.

At the ntion of punishnt, a flicker of terror crossed Madam Lu’s eyes. She instinctively stepped back only to rush forward again, pleading, “Brother officer, we are wronged, please let us out.”

The Yan Runner sneered, “Hah! Who here doesn’t claim to be wronged? Even he, he’s been claiming it for three years!” He pointed to a prisoner in a nearby cell, isolated from others, and said, “But do you know why he was imprisoned? Murder! The man killed his wife and turned her into at buns to eat—innocent, he says? Pah!”

Madam Lu, shocked, followed his pointing finger and saw a man sitting against the wall, his clothes tattered, his face bearded, seemingly noticing Madam Lu’s gaze, he looked over, his eyes gleaming green.

Madam Lu stumbled back in fright, legs giving out, scrambling to return to Zhou Xuennian’s side, huddling close to him, her obese body trembling violently.

Seeing this, the Yan Runner scoffed twice and walked away leisurely.

“Husband, husband…” Madam Lu cried out, but Zhou Xuennian heartlessly pushed her to the ground. She was startled, looked up, and was t with Zhou Xuennian’s resentful gaze, rendering her speechless.

“You idiot, you greedy, damned woman, you’ve caused my downfall; I should beat you to death!” Zhou Xuennian glared at Madam Lu fiercely, pounced on her, and began to slap her on the face with both hands.

Madam Lu was caught off guard, pumled relentlessly; his palms slapped her face like gusts of wind, causing her to cry out in pain.

“Roar, roar, hit her, beat her to death, the shaless hag deserves it, kill her!” The convicted wife-killer next door, clutching the bars, excitedly watched the spectacle unfolding, his encouragent filled with a bloodthirsty and savage gleam.

Fueled by the neighboring prisoner’s cheers, Zhou Xuennian’s malice intensified, and he hit her even harder, his eyes bloodshot with rage: “Wench, I’ll teach you to steal, to be greedy, to ruin ; you wench, I’ll kill you!”

At that mont, Zhou Xuennian seed not sure whether he was venting his anger at Madam Lu, the root cause of his troubles, or he was imagining her as Wufu; his fury was unprecedented.

Madam Lu felt a tallic taste in her mouth, her face struck with such pain that she squealed like a pig, instinctively trying to fight back.

She was already quite heavy, while Zhou Xuennian was frail, and with one forceful push, she knocked him to the ground. His head hit the wall with a thud, leaving him dizzy with pain.

Madam Lu was relentless; she rolled over him, pressing him down from behind, her plump chest smothering Zhou Xuennian’s head, her body bearing down heavily.

Zhou Xuennian, already short of breath, bit into a mouthful of damp straw. As he was suffocated by the weight, he nearly lost consciousness due to lack of oxygen and could only turn his head to the side, “Lu Zhenzhu, you good-for-nothing. Get off, or I’ll beat you to death, I swear I’ll divorce you!”
