58: Chapter 58: Running Wild Again
Ah Jiu lay on the pile of firewood with his eyes closed, recuperating.
Since that girl had left today, her mother had only brought him food once and hadn’t approached the firewood room again.
She hadn’t even lingered outside; it was so quiet it seed as if he was the only person in this house.
As footsteps neared, the door opened from the outside, and his eyes instantly snapped open.
When he saw Wufu, the wariness in his expression eased.
“What took you so long?” Ah Jiu struggled to sit up, pulling at his wound, and winced slightly.
“Got held up with sothing.
Don’t worry, your ssage has been delivered to the bookshop.” Wufu reached out and handed over so pastries.
“Hungry, aren’t you?
Eat sothing to fill your stomach first.”
Ah Jiu glanced at the small treats in her hand, took them, and started nibbling.
He was indeed hungry.
“After dinner, I’ll take you up the mountain,” said Wufu, raising an eyebrow at his elegant eating manners.
“Alright!”
Wufu was pleased with his cooperative attitude, but just as she was about to say sothing more, she heard shouting from outside.
Her brows furrowed, and she said, “You stay here.”
Ah Jiu had clearly heard the noisy sounds too and nodded in agreent.
Wufu quickly stepped out of the firewood room and before she could see what was happening, she heard the sound of porcelain breaking and screams of shock.
Following the sound, she saw that the large water tank in the courtyard had been shattered, water spilling everywhere.
In front of the broken tank stood several people—her mother, Madam Lu, and her daughter.
“What is this all about?” Wufu asked sternly, her icy gaze fixed on Zhou Xiuer standing behind Madam Lu.
They arrived swiftly.
Was this a ga of calling for an adult when they can’t win on their own?
Zhou Xiuer shrank back to avoid her stare and hid behind her mother, Madam Lu.
Wufu snorted coldly and strode over in just a few steps.
Seeing the large hole in the water tank, which made it unusable, her face grew even darker.
Their house didn’t have a well, and in order to get water, they had to carry it back bucket by bucket from the mountain stream to fill the tank, so this water tank was used for storing water.

Go on, pack your bags and get out right now!”
She couldn’t believe it—if it ca to being thrown out of the family, Zhou Yingi would still hold up so defiantly!
