Chapter 1598: Chapter 1536: Half-Truths and Lies

I don’t know if it’s the sudden onset of Heart Gu or the reason for regenerating another Gu inside, but Ah Jiu slept for quite a long ti this ti, only waking up in the evening.

"Master, you’re awake?" Xiao Li, who was guarding by the bedside, heard movent and hurriedly stood up, feeling overjoyed to see Ah Jiu open his eyes.

"What ti is it?" Ah Jiu asked as he sat up with Xiao Li’s help, placing his hand on his chest, frowning as he felt sowhat strange.

Xiao Li glanced at the small clock from the Foreign Land and said, "It’s already the Third Quarter of Wu Hour. Are you hungry, Master? The small kitchen has so porridge simring; shall I bring it to you?"

Ah Jiu nodded.

Xiao Li happily went out, leaving Ah Jiu sitting on the bed, feeling a bit dazed, and uncomfortable with a sticky feeling on his body, especially around his heart...

He pressed on his heart, his eyebrows furrowing once again.

Hearing light footsteps approaching, he looked up to see Wufu coming over, showing a smile: "Made you worry again."

Wufu sat down, touched his face gently, and said softly, "As long as you’re okay."

"Did you catch a cold? Your face seems a bit pale." Ah Jiu saw her face, reached out to touch it, and felt it was a bit cool.

Lost half a bowl of blood; how could it not be pale?

Wufu pretended to be evasive and said, "It’s nothing, just worried about you."

Xiao Li ca over with a tray, on which were two stew pots and a Blue and White Porcelain bowl and spoon.

Wufu took Ah Jiu’s arm and led him to the table to sit down; Xiao Li had already opened the stew pot, pouring out bird’s nest and chicken porridge.

"Shall I feed you?" Wufu said with a smile.

Ah Jiu chuckled, "I am not that weak yet."

Seeing him eating by himself, Wufu opened the other soup pot and poured out a bowl of soup, a faint fishy sll wafting over.

Ah Jiu frowned, put down the porridge bowl, looking at the dark red soup, and asked, "What is this?"

Xiao Li stood by, nervously looking at Wufu, not daring to breathe heavily.

Ah Jiu looked at him curiously, and Wufu said, "Do you really want to know?" Without waiting for Ah Jiu to respond, she continued, "It’s a dicinal soup prescribed by the Saintess that can make you feel a bit better, containing Chinese violet and Deer Blood, so it might sll fishy."

Ah Jiu widened his eyes at the sight of the soup.

Wufu held his hand and said, "It’s alright; drink it once every three days. You’ll be fine after a month."

"Do I really have to drink it for a month?" Ah Jiu felt a bit nauseous.

Wufu said, "Bitter dicine cures illness. After the Empress Dowager’s celebration, we’ll head to Miaojiang, where the Saintess has already researched the Gu Solving thod for your Heart Gu. I’ve already sent people to Miaojiang to first collect the Sacred dicine for solving the Gu."

"Is there really a solution?" Ah Jiu’s eyes lit up slightly.

Wufu nodded, "But the dicine is hard to find; she said it’s the Love Flower that blooms once in ten years, and this year is the flowering season, but we still have to wait. That’s why I’ve sent people ahead."

"What if we can’t pick it..."

Wufu covered his mouth with her hand, scolding, "Don’t say such discouraging things. She said it blooms once every ten years, and this year is the flowering season—that’s our luck! Didn’t you say I’m your lucky star? With all my luck, everything will go smoothly!"

Ah Jiu laughed, "Praise you a bit, and you’re already smug?"

Wufu smiled proudly, "I’m a child favored by heaven." Saying this, not caring about Xiao Li’s presence, she pecked him on the cheek and said, "So, obediently take your dicine, don’t wait until you can’t endure it and go to Miaojiang."

Ah Jiu blushed, "Xiao Li is still here."

Xiao Li smiled with pursed lips, "I didn’t see anything." But in his heart, he secretly gave Wufu a thumbs-up, amazed that she could lie with such a straight face.
