Chapter 1478: Chapter 1416: One After Another

Wufu’s sudden action left everyone stunned. Wu Lihong felt sothing warm splash on his face, touched it, and saw his fingers stained red. The scent of blood pierced his nostrils, making his throat cluck involuntarily.

"Wufu, are you insane?" Madam Zhou scread, her body went limp as she trembled and tried to wrap her hand with a handkerchief.

This child is foolish; there’s no need for this, she’s foolish.

Wufu patted her hand and stared at Wu Lihong, saying, "Is this enough?" She then turned to those gossiping bystanders and said, "You all saw it, I, Wufu, sever my ties with this so-called father. From now on, we’re irrelevant to each other!"

"You, you..."

The surroundings were filled with hisses. Wu Lihong pointed at Wufu, facing everyone’s accusing fingers, he eventually lost face and huffed heavily, "You disrespectful daughter, you’re so good at this!"

Leaving these words behind, he used his sleeve to cover his face and quickly walked away.

Wufu watched him vanish, then returned her gaze to Madam Zhou, saying, "Mother, let’s leave too. From today, it truly will be just the few of us depending on each other."

Madam Zhou’s eyes were blurred with tears.

Depending on each other, they have always been.

But Wufu felt cheerful, finally, the ssy situation was resolved. From now on, she truly would be irrelevant to the Wu Family.

The group boarded the carriage and left, and the gossiping bystanders at the Yan gate dispersed. Soon, the city was abuzz with even more rumors about Lord Wu’s divorce, including the severed ties incident, and even rumors about his wife hiring assassins. That’s why she no longer acknowledged him and went for a divorce.

Madam Wang fainted upon hearing these rumors, then shattered several porcelain pieces when she woke up.

"Wretched woman, malicious slanderer, stepping on

while I’m down," Madam Wang fud.

Nanny Wei stood aside with hands clasped, afraid to make a sound, fearing she’d beco the innocent scapegoat.

Madam Wang cursed for a while, then burst into a manic laugh, "Haha, severed ties, he deserves it! Whatever trouble he brings on himself, he deserves to bear it!"

"Madam, madam."

Qing Lian quickly ca in, reporting urgently, "Madam, Old Madam fainted from anger after hearing the gossip."

Madam Wang raised an eyebrow, leisurely picking up her tea, "Has a doctor been called?"

"Soone has been sent to call him. Madam should go to see her swiftly," Qing Lian replied.

"I’m also sick with rage," Madam Wang said expressionlessly. "Just say I can’t get out of bed, ask Second Lady and Third Madam to go take care of her."

Qing Lian hesitated slightly, looking at Nanny Wei.

"Go quickly!" Madam Wang’s face darkened.

Qing Lian quickly bowed her head, dropped her hands at her sides, and retreated.

Madam Wang snorted lightly, then stood up and said to Nanny Wei, "Fetch my bandana and put it on."

"Yes, Madam." Nanny Wei went inside to find a bandana and placed it on her head, then asked, "Madam, about the rumor outside?"

"The innocent are innocent. She accuses

of hiring assassins; does she have evidence? Explaining it would make us seem anxious, it’s better not to act at all. Eventually, the truth will reveal itself, let’s see what they do," Madam Wang sneered coldly, though her words lacked conviction.

Nanny Wei was about to reply when soone rushed inside, shouting. She glanced at Madam Wang’s expression and sensed trouble. She quickly walked to the door and slapped the newcor’s palm, "You wretched girl, who did you say was bad? Is a ghost chasing you?"

The young maid yelped in pain, knelt on the ground, and crawled a few steps forward, "Madam, it’s bad, Princess Ping Xi has brought people to smash our Rongxiu Pavilion!"

"What!" Madam Wang’s face changed drastically, smashing her shop?

Nanny Wei felt a headache. Incident after incident, how should they handle this?
