Chapter 1459: Chapter 1397: Taking Out One’s Anger on Others

Wu Lihong and a few others left Changqing Residence in a sorry state. Wufu was truly aggressive, leaving them at a loss on how to respond, and her demands were not sothing that could be agreed upon lightly, as even eting her demands for a peaceful resolution was trendously unfavorable to them.

"You have one day to consider. After the Mid-Autumn Festival, whether it’s going to court or peacefully separating, depends on your own choice!" Wufu’s calm threats still echoed in their ears.

Old Madam Wu climbed into the carriage with great effort, and upon entering, imdiately asked her maid to apply cooling oil. Today was truly torturous!

Madam Wang was just as troubled. What worried her was Wu Lihong and Old Madam’s attitude. This matter, I’m afraid, is beyond resolution, and even her hiring of thugs would be detrintal to her!

Damn it, damn bitch!

Returning to the Wu Residence with complex emotions, it was late, and even though everyone was famished, none had the heart to eat. They just took a few sips of soup and gathered in Old Madam’s room to discuss the matter further.

Old Madam Wu had been upset all day, wore a headband on her forehead, and the room was filled with the scent of dicinal oil. Who knows how much of that oil she had applied.

"This matter, I see no way to turn it around; we might have to follow that girl’s wishes," Old Madam Wu said to Wu Lihong, "Otherwise, if she really goes to court as she threatened, forget about your reputation as an official. She also has an adopted brother who is the exclusive Imperial Physician to the Crown Prince!"

This is the crucial point. If he loses his official position, it’s truly a loss with no gain!

Wu Lihong’s face was extrely unsightly; clearly, such connections should belong to him, yet they’ve beco a source of threat against him. How could he not be enraged?

"Mother..." Madam Wang’s heart sank further, her face filled with unwillingness.

What Old Madam Wu hated most now was this eldest daughter-in-law. Seeing her speak up, her anger flared up again, "Stop saying impossible things! If not for you, things wouldn’t have reached this stage!"

Madam Wang was stunned, "Mother?"

Old Madam Wu’s head throbbed wildly. Unable to contain herself, she pressed her temple with her hand. Her spirit had already been frail lately, and today had been exhausting; combined with the anger, she felt utterly uncomfortable and weak, as if she had no strength anywhere.

She shook her hand, took a sip of tea, and coldly looked at Madam Wang, "If it weren’t for your heartless actions and cruel tactics, you wouldn’t have pushed them to such an adversarial position! Hiring thugs to kill soone? Ha, you’re the most ruthless among Wu family’s wives!"

"Mother, I’ve said it wasn’t , it’s..."

"Don’t use that excuse again saying it was your trusted maid who did it, trying to fool us. We haven’t locked you in the family temple because of Yuyu and the others. Otherwise, would you still be sitting here talking?" Old Madam Wu shouted sternly, her chest heaving with rapid breaths.

Madam Wang was deeply ashad and angry, biting her lower lip, full of hatred.

Wu Lihong coldly glanced at this legitimate wife, damn it, what kind of legitimate wife is she? It’s just that he can’t deal with her just yet.

This is clearly a case of misplaced anger!

"Mother, please be mindful of your health, don’t get overly angry. We still need you in the household!" Wu Lihong went over, soothingly patting Old Madam Wu’s back, then turned to Madam Wang, "There’s nothing here for you anymore, go back to your room!"

Madam Wang looked at him, seeing no trace of tenderness or compassion in his eyes, only disgust and disdain, her heart sank once again, and she stood up twisting her handkerchief.

This man is truly unreliable, so does she really have to resign herself to their rcy?
