Chapter 1003: Chapter 1001: Xiao Qi’s Keen Sense of Sll

The scenery of floating downstream through the dense jungle is not as beautiful as it is on the river; there is no such thing as monkeys singing constantly on both banks.

Here, there are only low, lush thorny thickets, rampant weeds, murky river water, and a difficult-to-describe fishy sll. Occasionally, a water snake swims by, making people constantly alert to whether so gigantic creature would erge from the water.

Wufu glanced at the murky river water, her expression not looking good.

“What’s wrong?” Ah Jiu asked, noticing her expression.

Wufu shook her head: “It’s nothing, just thinking this river channel isn’t a good place.”

Ah Jiu said, “Don’t worry.”

“I’m not worried. The one who should worry is the Emperor of Nanyue.” Wufu snorted coldly: “Being less than two hundred miles from Changan City, such a big threat exists here. If I were him, I wouldn’t be able to sleep.”

Ah Jiu was silent for a while and then said, “Perhaps two hundred miles is face value, but not reality.”

“Hmm, your words seem to have another aning.” Wufu looked at him strangely.

Ah Jiu smiled and said, “Just thinking of a legend.”

“What?”

“Soone fell from a cliff, with a river below. Regardless of life or death, he should only be near the river, no more than dozens of miles away, right? But he drifted to hundreds of miles away.”

Wufu frowned: “Are you saying this Cloud Realm might be hundreds of miles away from Changan City?”

Ah Jiu nodded.

“Impossible, Cloud Fort already provided a map, indicating the entire Cloud Realm is only seventy to eighty miles away.” Wufu said.

Ah Jiu replied, “What if they only mapped based on the route they know and not the actual distance?”

Wufu pursed her lips in silence.

“Of course, it’s just a guess. Actually, the distance of Cloud Realm doesn’t concern us. As long as what’s inside doesn’t co out to harm the populace, all is well.” Ah Jiu said.

Wufu responded, “Indeed, animals have their survival rules. Living here equates to their ho. This place has ford a food chain to sustain them. Naturally, they wouldn’t run out blindly. But if it can’t sustain them anymore, they will have to find other ans.”

“So, terrain is hard to say!”

“Yes!” Wufu propped her chin and said, “I just didn’t expect there to be a jungle here.”

While they were talking, Xiao Qi suddenly twitched his nose and leaped up from the bamboo raft, his amber eyes sharply glaring ahead, his body slightly hunched in an attack stance.

“Xiao Qi?” Wufu looked at him puzzled: “What’s wrong?”

Xiao Qi frowned, pointed ahead, and said, “Blood.”

Blood?

Wufu and Ah Jiu exchanged glances, stood up, and looked out.

There is about a twenty-three-ter wide river channel, muddy and opaque, with the dense forest on both sides inexplicably giving way to damp, low grassy yellow soil.

But the blood Xiao Qi ntioned, they didn’t see it.

“You slled it?” Wufu pulled Xiao Qi and asked.

He is the Wolf Child, whose sense of sll is sharper than theirs. If he says so, he must have slled sothing.

Wufu sniffed, slling nothing but the fishy river water.

Watching Xiao Qi nod, she thought for a mont and leaned over the side of the bamboo raft, looking into the water.

“Xiao Five, is there a situation?” Seeing their serious expressions on this side, Tie Hanyang couldn’t help but ask from his boat.

Wufu raised her hand silently, looking into the water. Suddenly, she shouted, “Oh crap!”
