Dongdu, in a villa.

“From today on, you are mbers of the Qin family.”

Li Wen's face was expressionless as she stood in front of Wang Hai and Wang Zhi, with a servant behind her holding two sets of black military uniforms which she handed to them.

“As evolved individuals, you will enjoy the treatnt of military officers. Your housing and als will be provided by the family.”

Li Wen then took out two black cards and handed them to Wang Hai. “You have a D-level talent, and you will receive 2,000 rit points each month. You can use these points to exchange for energy cores, gene potions, and weaponry.”

She then looked at Wang Zhi with a trace of displeasure in her eyes. “You have a B-level talent, and you will receive 3,500 rit points each month.”

Wang Hai happily accepted the card, inspecting it with delight. He had only one thought in his mind—choosing this path was indeed the right decision!

Not to ntion, this villa was far more comfortable than the shelter he was previously in. His previous room in the temporary shelter was just ten square ters with only a bed, incomparable to this luxury.

Having monthly rit points ant he could exchange for energy cores without the need to risk his life hunting zombies and defending moreover against other evolved individuals' covetousness. Often, for just a few energy cores, one had to fight desperately.

No wonder so many evolved individuals were eager to serve the Qin family.

Li Wen continued, “If you feel that your rit points are insufficient, you can also select suitable tasks from the intranet. The spoils must be handed over entirely, but you will receive corresponding rit points in return.”

“This is the reward the family provides for you. When you accumulate enough rit points or break through your level, your status within the family will rise, and you will enjoy higher benefits and privileges.”

“However, you must unconditionally obey all commands and arrangents of the family. Any disobedience will result in imdiate execution.”

Her tone grew colder and more nacing when she ntioned imdiate execution, making Wang Hai's heart skip a beat, and he quickly nodded.

Li Wen then turned to Wang Zhi, her tone icy. “And rember your place! The young master is not soone you can fantasize about. If you dare to be disrespectful again, I will apply to have you expelled from Dongdu!”

Wang Zhi was initially started but, being strong-willed, she imdiately retorted, “I'm not the only one with such thoughts, am I?”

Li Wen's expression stiffened. She had once been a special agent nurtured by the Qin family and had almost beco Qin Jun's personal bodyguard, but was overshadowed by Xie Han at the last mont.

After the apocalypse, she awakened her talent and beca an evolved individual under the Qin family, which elevated her status considerably but distanced her from Qin Jun.

Seeing Wang Zhi, a newcor, daring to dream of Qin Jun made her instantly hostile.

However, Li Wen said nothing more and left with only a parting remark, “Prepare yourselves. The young master will be taking a team to Donghua City tomorrow, and you are to lead the way.”

After Li Wen left, Wang Hai grumbled to Wang Zhi, “Why did you have to provoke her?”

Wang Zhi snorted but said nothing, her mind drifting back to Qin Jun's incredibly handso face and his noble, high-and-mighty deanor that captivated her.

The next day, a large convoy departed from Dongdu, heading towards Donghua City. Qin Jun did not bring many soldiers, only a mixed reinforced battalion with a strength of 1,200 n.

In the apocalypse, ordinary soldiers were useful for defending fortifications and firepower points but were less effective against zombies and mutated creatures in the wild. After all, a mutated soldier could beco a significant threat.

However, Qin Jun brought over 70 evolved individuals. Over the past few days, more people had awakened their talents.

With the Qin family monopolizing the nearby subspace dungeons and obtaining talent seeds, they had created a batch of evolved individuals.

The Qin family now had nearly a thousand evolved individuals, although this was still a small percentage of Dongdu's millions of residents.

Wang Hai and Wang Zhi, seated in a military vehicle, were in awe of the vast convoy. This was the power of the Qin family—just a casual display of force could easily dominate all the shelters in Donghua City.

Donghua City, outskirts, First Affiliated Hospital.

This was once the largest hospital in Donghua City and had now beco the largest shelter in the city.

The hospital's periter walls had been reinforced with iron and wooden boards, topped with barbed wire, and surrounded by defensive trenches.

This shelter housed tens of thousands of survivors but maintained a strict hierarchical structure.

The elderly and useless lived in tents in the courtyard, surrounded by the stench of filth. The young, healthy n lived in the hospital wards and staff dormitories, valued for their labor.

The evolved individuals enjoyed the VIP rooms on the higher floors, which had been converted into more comfortable living quarters.

The top floor, once the hospital director's office, belonged to one person. The floor that one lived on symbolized their status.

On the highest floor, a woman's screams echoed, and a few thugs outside the door exchanged knowing smirks. The screams grew weaker and finally ceased.

After a while, the door opened, and a brutish man stepped out. He was unnaturally tall, nearly three ters, with explosive muscles like a mountain of flesh, exuding an oppressive aura that made anyone's legs go weak at a glance.

This was the owner of the shelter and the most powerful evolved individual in Donghua City—Blood Bear.
