Ren returned to the dining table in an instant. Only Chinu, who knew everything that happened in the Chat Group, understood what had occurred. Ti had stood still, but the thoughts of the group mbers had not.
Kanae also returned with Ren; she had automatically entered his ntal space when he left. Upon her return, she lay sprawled weakly on the table, exhausted from the many tis she had gone with Ren when Ram and Rem were serving him.
"What's wrong?" Eriri continued her previous question. This sense of pause always required Ren to adapt. He shook his head. "It's nothing, let's eat, my good daughter."
"You idiot!" Eriri, extrely embarrassed, went into a full rage. Her twin tails instantly turned into two continuously whipping lashes, striking Ren back and forth rapidly with each shake of her head.
The lashes, however, were just hair and completely harmless. Ren played along with a childlike ntality, pretending to be in great pain.
After so playful teasing, Eriri hugged her arms, pouted, and lightly snorted. "Hmph, let's see if you dare to talk nonsense again."
Ren, however, mischievously leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Haha, maybe next ti."
"Ugh!" Eriri, being well-read, understood the implication. She instantly turned into a steam engine, but her head unconsciously nodded slightly.
Sayuri glanced at the two of them. She didn't even need to listen to know what Ren had just said. She hadn't expected her casual joke to make them consider trying sothing new. She couldn't help but blush.
Chinu leisurely ate her al while observing everyone at the table. Each had their own reactions, especially Eriri and Sayuri, the mother and daughter. Perhaps this was what humans were like.
"Stare..." Abe no Seii hung her head on Chinu's shoulder like a ghost. Chinu felt soone constantly muttering in her ear. "Want to eat, want to eat, want to eat..."
She bit into a sandwich. "Hmm, delicious." Her actions were slightly exaggerated, and the resentnt emanating from the ornant on her shoulder intensified. Now Chinu truly found her al delicious.
On Sunday, Ren specifically went to Kie's house.
"Ren, aren't you busy today?" Kie had just finished cleaning.
"Brother Ren!" Nezuko was still lying on the sofa watching an ani about magical girls. She still had a childlike heart.
Ren pulled Kie to sit on the sofa. "I'm very free today, just spending ti with you all. I'm not soone who likes the new and tires of the old."
Nezuko's figure suddenly shrank, turning into a smaller version of herself, and she naturally climbed into his arms. This was a unique characteristic of Nezuko; she could shrink her size and also transform into an adult evil spirit. This made Kie feel a hint of jealousy. If her own figure were a little smaller, she could also do such intimate actions.
"Kie has been ntioning you every day during this ti," Tamayo said, teasing, while watering flowers on the balcony.
Kie's ears turned red. "Tamayo too," she retorted, "she even bought strange clothes."
"Hmm?" Ren looked at Tamayo in surprise.
"Not strange clothes, they're lingerie, you know," Tamayo admitted generously. "Ren should like them, right?"
"I do like them, but where did you learn about these things?" He hadn't tried anything like that yet. He wondered where Tamayo had learned it.
Tamayo's pretty face wiggled her eyebrows playfully. "Then you'll have to ask Kie's precious daughter."
"Nezuko?"
Nezuko, in his arms, flinched. Her face imdiately turned red with embarrassnt, her ears burned, and her eyes darted around, unsure how to handle the situation. "I..."
Seeing her stamr for a long ti, Kie spoke for her. "When she was playing on the computer, she accidentally clicked on a strange webpage, and that's where she saw it."
"Computer pop-ups, really..." Ren didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He hadn't expected it was due to a computer pop-up all this ti.
However, this gave Ren an idea. He leaned close to Kie's ear and whispered, "Do you know about the three-color cup? I want to eat it. Can Kie make one for ?"
"Three-color cup?" Kie had never heard of it.
Ren, of course, knew she hadn't. He patiently began to explain the principle behind making a three-color cup, which had multiple spatial openings. The three-color cup is a very common type of ice cream with three flavors and three colors in the sa container. He was explaining the Kie Special Edition three-color cup, which only Kie could make.
"Eating ice cream in winter... is that... really okay?" she asked. She seed to have heard sothing incredible, and her face instantly flushed, taking on a ripe, rouge-like charm.
"Ice cream is best eaten in winter. Just try it." Ren smiled mischievously; this was no ordinary fun. Just thinking about it made him excited.
"Alright... alright," Kie said, taking a deep breath. Her cheeks burned like fiery clouds as she lowered her head and activated her Blood Demon Art.
The three-color cup didn't take long to make; it was ready very quickly. "Alright, this is the three-color cup that Ren wanted." Kie took out the finished ice cream and gave it to him.
The three-color cup had three colors and three flavors of ice cream. Each ti you tasted a different flavor, you got a different experience. Switching back and forth between flavors, you'd never get tired of it. He had eaten a lot of this stuff in the sumr, but this was his first ti tasting a three-color cup made by Kie herself.
Ren took the three-color cup, which Kie had served in a special container. Cup ice cream usually cos with a small wooden stick, which makes it easy to scoop out the ice cream. But because of the unique nature of Kie's custom three-color cup, only a larger stick could scoop it effectively. So, Ren had specially made a large wooden stick that far surpassed a small one.
Ice cream is best enjoyed by digging deep and eating it in large mouthfuls; the refreshing sensation is deeply invigorating. He picked up the wooden stick and dug deeply with force. Kie's cooking skills were now very high, and he was very much looking forward to the taste.
The first bite must go all the way to the bottom; the ice cream at the very bottom is the most delicious. He took the first bite.
The first bite of ice cream was peach-flavored, with an extrely smooth and tender texture. Moreover, it was made from ingredients that lted easily; if left untouched, it would slowly turn into liquid. Ren himself liked this kind of lting ice cream, which was more like ice cream than those types that wouldn't lt. This one lted even faster.
After just the first bite, it had almost completely lted, turning into a soup. Ren chuckled, then used the large wooden stick to vigorously dig out the second bite of the three-color cup.
The second flavor of ice cream occupied a much narrower section in the box. When Ren scooped the ice cream, the wooden stick was very careful, for fear of pushing this small section into other areas. But without a doubt, the first bite of the second flavor also had to be dug deep to the bottom. Eating ice cream by digging to the bottom is like eating pork hock by first picking off the skin, or eating waterlon by first eating the core—it's the sa principle. Without that one move, it lacks soul.
With careful effort, the second bite of ice cream was finally eaten. The flavor was small apple, crisp and tender, with an extrely dense texture.
He took out the wooden stick, then vigorously dug out the third bite, eating it with full anticipation. The third bite of ice cream was a floral flavor, filled with the fragrance of countless flowers. The three-color cup made by Kie was completely different from ordinary three-color cups with milk, strawberry, and chocolate flavors.
"Kie! Your cooking skills are amazing! This is the most refreshing and delicious three-color cup I've ever had in my life!" Ren's eyes lit up, praising her from the bottom of his heart.
Kie covered her mouth and chuckled softly. "Ren, as long as you like it." She shifted her body awkwardly, then, rembering sothing, said, "Ren, eating only ice cream isn't good for your stomach. I'll pour you a cup of tea to warm it."
She stood up and walked to pour tea with small, shuffling steps. When she returned, she bent down and placed the tea in front of Ren.
Ren patted her soft, perky behind and said with concern, "You need to be more careful when pouring tea, don't spill it. Look, your clothes are all wet."
Kie, cared for, showed a loving smile. "I was too clumsy. Thank you for your concern, Ren. I'll change my clothes later. I'll blow on your tea first."
"Ha..." Kie's family had a unique tea-blowing technique, using rapid breaths to blow away the heat from the tea. This was Kie's tea ceremony.
"Oh!"
"What's wrong?" Ren looked at Nezuko with concern.
Nezuko flinched, pointing at the TV. "Ren-ge, why is there such a scary monster in Magical Girl?" The magical girl on TV was sent flying by a terrifying, grotesque monster, which startled Nezuko, making her tense up, tremble, and feel extrely scared.
"Magical girls fight monsters. The monsters will be defeated later." It was his first ti realizing that Nezuko was timid and fragile. He covered her eyes with his hand and gently comforted her. "Don't be afraid, the monsters on TV are all fake."
"Mmm... Thank you, Ren-ge. With Ren-ge protecting , I... won't be afraid." While she said she wouldn't be afraid, her body trembled slightly; she was still very scared.
Ren sighed helplessly. Courage was sothing that needed to be gradually adapted to, and he didn't have a very good solution.
A strong gust of wind blew across the balcony. Tamayo's expression changed; she nearly lost her footing. She quickly grabbed the balcony railing to steady herself.
Ren said with concern, "Be careful, Tamayo. The wind is strong on the balcony, stand firm."
She turned back, her moist eyes full of helplessness and delicate charm. "The wind is indeed a bit strong today. I will be careful."
This three-color cup ice cream, with its constantly changing flavors, offers a different sensation with every bite. It stimulates the taste buds, making it impossible to stop eating. Moreover, from the rim to the bottom of the cup, the ice cream had different degrees of lting and varying water content, from shallow to deep. It was his first ti experiencing this kind of sensation.
A warm scene appeared in Kie's ho. Ren earnestly ate the three-color cup, savoring the ice cream. Kie, Tamayo, and Nezuko were also doing their own things. Kie helped Ren blow on his tea, Nezuko focused on watching TV, and Tamayo continued to water the flowers.
It was like a warm and natural family. This was the feeling of ho.
It was just that Kie and the other two still didn't feel very adapted to modern life. One was careless, spilling tea on her own clothes while pouring it. One was timid and afraid, scared by the grotesque monsters in Magical Girl. One was physically frail, unable to stand steadily on the balcony when the wind blew.
Ren sighed helplessly, only able to comfort them with all his heart. In reality, even he, accustod to ordinary three-color cups, almost couldn't adapt to the new flavor of the three-color cup at first. Perhaps after getting used to it, it wouldn't stimulate his taste buds so much. But he didn't want to waste such delicious three-color cup; he had to savor it slowly. He didn't want to eat too fast.
He was slightly distracted, digging and eating with one hand, while opening the Chat Group with the other. The Chat Group always captured his attention, and it seed like new mbers had just joined not long ago. Everyone was chatting away lively. He scrolled up through the chat history and saw:
