She slowly moved her body, adjusting her line of sight.

Borrowing the faint moonlight, Elsa began to observe her surroundings, working hard to analyze possible escape routes.

Her gaze swept over the towering ruins of buildings, the intricate maze of pipes, and finally settled on a path leading into the distance.

On both sides of that path were dilapidated, rusted containers covered in vines, making them appear especially secluded in the night.

But the direction was correct.

Heading that way would likely bring her closer to the outer boundary.

"ow..."

Cat Boss called out timidly.

This damned location not only had a barrier blocking communication but also an air-control barrier, preventing flight at any significant height.

Originally, it had only heard about air-control barriers when Lanci ntioned the Holy Temple Villain’s Banquet Shadow World on the cliff, but now it had actually encountered one.

If it had been just a bit stronger, it wouldn’t have lost to the enemies.

The black-clothed people pursuing them weren’t actually especially strong; the leader was probably only fifth-order, but there were just too many of them, and all were well-trained assassins. It could barely handle a minor leader, but with a group of underlings added in, it was truly out of options.

But on second thought, its growth potential had basically peaked; if it wanted to get any stronger, that would an reaching ninth-order. Ninth-order combating fifth-order would be sowhat comical.

"I always feel like sothing is not quite right..."

At this ti, Elsa didn’t rush to run out. She pressed her temples.

When trapped in a desperate situation, thinking was often more useful than rash action.

If she reappeared, she would quickly be discovered by the Mafia again. Continuing to hide here wasn’t an option either, as she’d soon be completely surrounded.

These people intended to kill her from the start.

Fortunately, her other Equipnt Cards were all geared towards saving her life, with Invisibility, speed boosts, and control removal. Plus, her eyesight and physical strength were especially good at night.

If it weren’t for the Mirror of the Moon Goddess given to her by Headmaster Violet, which blocked the initial attack, she might have been in danger by now.

She looked down at the silver crescent pendant she was clutching tightly in her hand.

[Mirror of the Moon Goddess]

[Category: Equipnt Card]

[Grade: Pink Holy]

[Attribute: Scouting/Regeneration]

[Class: 2]

[Effect: Wearing this jewelry improves crisis prediction. When inevitable fatal damage is about to be received, the mirror’s surface will shatter as a substitute for personal injury. Mirror regeneration takes 30 days and cannot be stacked with other effects that grant immunity to fatal damage.]

Even at this mont, she still felt a pervasive sense of crisis that wouldn’t disperse.

Even though she had already avoided the Mafia, the crisis prediction of the Mirror of the Moon Goddess seed to still be stimulating her heart.

"Elsa, it’s ti to keep running, ow..."

Cat Boss felt it was no longer safe to hide here.

"Little Black Bread, have you contacted my brother?"

Elsa whispered, holding the Little Black Cat.

"The signal is still not good. A little farther out, where the communication barrier is weaker, it might get better."

Cat Boss looked up and responded.

It dearly wished Lanci would suddenly arrive and rescue it and Elsa from danger, but it also knew the chances of Lanci hearing its words clearly were slim.

Right now, they would likely have to depend on it and Elsa.

"I’m sorry, I’ve dragged you into this."

Elsa hugged the Little Black Cat, feeling guilty.

In the upcoming escape, if necessary, she would use her not-so-proficient Innate Magic, Eye of Judgent. Its ability was to observe the animosity on the target to determine their danger level. Additionally, if she was a detective, she could get the answers in advance and then prove the process.

At night, she could also make use of the Eye of Judgent’s scouting abilities to discern the approximate locations of targets through walls within a small range.

This ability made her see too many things she didn’t want to see. Last ti, at the Roland family banquet, she saw a number that didn’t add up.

Elsa told Ursula.

Ursula believed her, and when she imdiately notified her older brother, Marquis Ryan, head of the Roland family, he ca to an astonishing conclusion—

That man didn’t exist at the banquet at all.

It was as if everyone’s mory was faulty, except Elsa saw that man.

Since then, Elsa always had nightmares, afraid to use the Eye of Judgent again.

She went to see Headmaster Violet, who solemnly warned her never to let anyone know her Innate Magic skill in the future.

Now that her brother Landry happened to be in Brilda, she felt a rare sense of relief in her heart but also feared involving him in troubleso events.

Indeed, she had seen sothing she shouldn’t have.

"Don’t say that, Elsa ow, I’m supposed to protect you ow."

Cat Boss felt Elsa put too much pressure on herself, always acting as though she should bear her troubles alone.

Their current location might be closer to the interior of the Mafia than its outskirts, so after running for so ti, the communication didn’t improve significantly.

To escape or successfully contact Lanci might still require a lengthy chase.

"Now, you just focus on thinking about the escape route! I’ll listen to your command, ow..."

"Wait, if we’re closer to the interior..."

Elsa’s eyes flickered, observing two directions.

From the beginning, she felt there was sothing discordant.
