The younger cousins and little sister couldn’t sit still, looking even more excited than her.
It was her brother Kyle who, upon hearing that Mr. Rocky wouldn’t co today, lost interest and returned to the study to continue his research, saying he would consider attending to watch the final round of assessnts.
So it turned out she was left alone to look after the children.
"Enon, help keep an eye on the little ones."
Christina could only turn to Enon for help.
"I..."
Enon sat next to Christina, feeling very uncomfortable.
Because when she looked at other families, most attendants stood to the side.
She was even less sure about how to interact with children.
During this ti, she had been studying and realized that so things ca naturally to her, while others she didn’t know at all, and "caring for and being kind to children," this basic skill, was sothing she was completely lacking in, which made her doubt even more that she was a bad person in the past.
"No worries, you’re smart, you’ll learn in no ti."
Christina, as if seeing through Enon’s hesitation, took her hands and spoke to her.
"It’s all Rocky’s fault for playing the deserter, otherwise, just a question about their howork and the kids would quiet down."
Christina complained with frustration.
Appeasing children was supposed to be Rocky’s forte.
"No, it’s not Mr. Rocky’s fault, it’s my lack of ability."
Enon said in a low voice.
Seemingly unwilling to let Christina bla the butler, she tentatively looked at the children and boldly patted their heads one by one.
The three little ones stared blankly at Enon, making her worry she had done sothing wrong.
She was just clumsily imitating Rocky’s natural behavior.
She rembered that at such monts, Rocky would add, "Kids, I’m back."
But obviously, the current scene was not appropriate.
"Wow, Enon, you actually want to play with us!"
However, the three children quickly smiled and began talking to Enon, the usually silent and mysterious maid, leaving her not quite sure what to say next.
"Just a bit of imitation should do the trick."
Christina smiled easily, relieved.
The butler was useful in other ways, encouraging Enon to step in for his duties.
The Platinum Level Card Maker exam had actually started so ti ago, with the screens in Skycrown Hall synchronizing the images inside the Artificial Shadow World.
It was now the intermission preparation ti.
The first round of discussions for the Platinum Level Card Maker exam was quite lengthy.
Experts appreciated the art; casual viewers sought entertainnt, with few managing to watch the whole session.
So even at the venue of the Sacred Silvervine Arena on site, there were spectators coming in and out constantly.
And each ti there was a transition between two candidates, the screens in the arena would show examiners and staff discussing, ready to lead in a new candidate after the countdown.
During these tis, the audience would mostly be engaged in their own conversations.
As Christina leaned on the back of the sofa and looked up at the clear blue sky of Parriet, she suddenly heard so commotion in the distance, seemingly a group of nobles paying homage to soone.
She turned her head to look, and sat up straighter.
Coming her way was the real power holder of the Senate of the Poseen Kingdom—Duke Tiffany.
She was dressed in a luxurious silk gown, with the hem of her dress resting on her seat, the deep red fabric shimring with a faint light, and adding a fur-lined cloak over her shoulders that fluttered lightly with her movents.
Duke Tiffany stood straight, her head held high, her bright eyes seemingly eager to roam over the screens as she tapped her signet ring against the armrest and leisurely fanned herself with her feathered fan, occasionally looking up with a smile to whisper a few words to the black-clad officer behind her.
"I heard you nearly chopped him by accident the other day, didn’t you?"
She gestured with her fan towards a figure on the corner of the screen, then hid her mouth behind the fan to ask.
"...I am deeply sorry."
The black-clad officer said apologetically and bowed his head.
"Don’t bla yourself, it was the authorization I gave you, and I take responsibility for any issues that arose."
Duke Tiffany spoke nonchalantly, tapping the officer’s side with her fan, as if to urge him to stand proud and not to bla himself.
"Mr. Nigel!"
On another side, Christina noticed the officer’s figure and accidentally blurted out his na, then decisively waved to him.
She and the butler Rocky had encountered the executioner on their recent trip to the Demon World of Poseen, and it was he who had handed Enon over to them.
Stationed behind the Duke, Nigel noticed the Bathist family’s seating area and gave Christina a look, nodding slightly in acknowledgnt.
"Enon, Mr. Nigel was the one who saved you that day."
Christina reminded Enon by her side.
In the Demon World of Poseen, if it weren’t for Nigel’s tily intervention to stop the leader of the Diamond Gang gone berserk, Enon might have been killed by the Cursed Demon Clan in Frenzy Transformation.
Upon hearing this, Enon also gave a small bow to Nigel.
Nigel reciprocated with a response to Enon.
He noticed that the Bathist family had taken in the human he had saved.
"See, Enon, the outside world isn’t so dangerous, there are many kind people around."
Christina taught Enon.
"You are right."
Enon nodded, sowhat reassured.
Before she could say anything further.
"!"
She stood up abruptly as if realizing danger, stepping in front of Christina, protecting her with her hand, cautioning her not to move rashly.
