Lanci had actually been very worried about Enon since the day before they t, and he asked sincerely.

He always suspected that there was sothing off about Enon’s ntal state.

The current state of affairs wasn’t necessarily a bad thing for Enon.

"..."

Enon shook her head.

Penniless, with no family or friends, only a lonely identity card to her na, and on top of that, she was being hunted.

"What should I do?"

After a while, Enon looked up at the two of them and asked.

At this mont, the red-headed girl seed to be standing at a crossroads, the thick fog of mory filling her with doubt about everything.

She was well aware that in this unfamiliar environnt, the only thing she could rely on was her own intuition.

Despite the harmless appearance of the brown-haired butler and the blonde woman in front of her, she felt extrely insecure, and anyone could be a potential threat.

The intense unease brought on by her lost mories kept her on edge.

"Well then, how about this: you co to the Bathist household to work as a temporary maid, and let Rocky teach you how to do the work. After that, you can look for other jobs to support yourself."

Christina suggested.

The day Rocky had won against Enon, she had felt sowhat sorry for her.

Little did she expect that the red-haired boy was actually a girl.

Now she felt none of that horrible aura from the other party; she only thought that maybe the other’s destitution was partly because she had caused her to lose the bet, and guilt began to arise within her.

"..."

Enon was hesitant, feeling like the blonde girl in front of her didn’t seem like a bad person.

Her complexion was still deathly pale.

"Here, have sothing to eat."

Christina, as if reminded of sothing, took out the Ghost Bread she had bought in the Demon World and handed it to her.

Enon hesitantly reached out, then quickly grabbed the bag of bread, tearing open the packaging and bringing the transparent bread to her lips, as though she hadn’t eaten properly in days.

After eating, the hospital room fell silent once more.

After nearly a minute of silence, she finally nodded her head, agreeing to the offer.

"Let’s go."

Enon stepped out of the bed, stumbling, barely managing to stand by holding onto the foot of the bed.

The bandages on her were starting to redden again, probably because the wound had reopened.

"You don’t have to rush to work, I can advance you your wages," Christina said, concerned as she steadied Enon.

Enon looked at her.

She didn’t really want to repay a favor; she just felt that sticking with these two people would be safer than staying in the hospital.

Right now what she lacked the most was a sense of security, everything was so strange and the real from the fake was hard to distinguish.

These two were the only ones she had unclear and inexplicable impressions of, but it seed that neither had ever shown her any malice.

"I don’t have a sense of pain."

Enon said matter-of-factly.

This, at least, she was certain of.

She couldn’t perceive pain, even when she was beaten to the brink of death, all she felt was stiffness, making moving her body inconvenient.

Suddenly, Enon sensed a gaze upon her.

"...Why are you looking at like that? Isn’t it a good thing to not feel pain?"

Enon noticed that the butler’s erald eyes seed to carry a hint of pity, which made her quite uncomfortable.

"Pain is actually a very important protective signal. If you don’t know what pain feels like, you can easily harm yourself, and even more easily harm others," Lanci murmured to himself.

"It doesn’t matter, I can’t feel pain," Enon muttered, indifferent.

She didn’t think it was a bad thing; otherwise, the pain from the wounds alone would be enough to cause her great misery.

"Is that so?"

Lanci smiled, showing no intention of delving deeper into the issue with Enon.

So questions could be discussed later; right now, the only thing that mattered was to take good care of her.

"From now on, I’ll be your employer," Christina said to Enon, relieved.

She felt that Enon was in much better condition now compared to when she first t her, and no longer as scary.

Her judgnt was better than her brother’s.

Her brother had brought Rocky ho, who looked every bit the Evil God; whereas the Enon she had hired seed much more normal in comparison. Upon closer inspection, she was indeed quite a beautiful girl.

"I might be clumsy, please don’t scold ," Enon said softly.

She might be promptly dismissed if she didn’t perform well.

She always felt that she had probably never done such work before, nor had she ever worn maid’s attire.

Moreover, for so inexplicable reason, she felt resistant; it was as if by putting on the clothes, she would lose sothing forever.

But that was still better than continuing to be hunted in the streets.

"Don’t worry, I’ll teach you everything you don’t understand, and I look forward to your company for the ti being," Lanci said, kindly to Enon.

For so reason, his workload seed to be continually increasing.

But Enon was strong. Having her sign a contract to stay at Count Bathist’s house was definitely a good thing. With the problems escalating due to the Curse Demon Clan, Huadu might not be entirely safe either. Even if Lanci wasn’t at the Count’s house, if any evil entity ca looking, it would be nice to have another formidable force at ho.
