The Cat Boss was caught off guard and suddenly hugged from behind. It felt as though soone was slling it, but when it tried to break free, it realized it was completely ineffective.
It finally understood the terror Tata felt every day when Sikder hugged her from behind.
"ow, ow, I'm not a ow!"
The Cat Boss instinctively refuted. It wasn't a Catman; it was just a cat.
Even though many people had hugged it before, being suddenly grabbed tightly by a stranger would still scare it.
Its ntality was on the verge of collapse. Being grabbed while in cat form was bad enough, but now, even in human form, it was happening.
"Your speaking habit is just like ours—actually, even heavier than mine. It's obvious you're a Catman."
The crisp voice behind the Cat Boss continued, still holding onto it like it was cradling a child and refusing to let go.
"Let go, ow!"
The Cat Boss declared sternly.
While its strength couldn't match the stranger's, things would be completely different if it used Telekinesis. However, it didn't want to hurt them.
"Bianca, this kid is barely over ten years old, isn't he?"
From afar behind the Cat Boss, a deep male voice echoed, accompanied by the heavy footsteps pressing against the plaza tiles.
"Even though your Catman Clan tends to lack a sense of personal space, hugging an underage Catman like this still feels a bit criminal."
A resonant, magnetic female voice chid in, seemingly expressing helplessness toward her companion's behavior.
"...ow?"
The Cat Boss paused its struggle for a mont, its brain kicking into a state of cosmic contemplation.
Suddenly, an important question struck it.
Why were three people close to it already, yet it hadn't detected even the slightest hint of their presence?
After all, it was a Ninth-order Divine Beast, certainly not weak.
Additionally, it seed like soone had just ntioned the na of the Catwoman hugging it—
Bianca?
Wasn't that the na of one of the Twelve War Gods?
Twelfth Military God, Seat of Cat's Eye Bianca—The Cat Boss had heard everything about the Twelve War Gods from Lanci long ago. Though there could be soone with the sa na, given she was from the Catman Clan and had the strength to easily restrain it, she absolutely must be a War God.
Cold sweat broke out on the Cat Boss's forehead.
It was surrounded by three War Gods.
The sa treatnt as Loren.
Could it possibly et its end today?
Cat Lun—let alone fighting three War Gods—could barely stand up to one!
In a mont of relentless survival instinct and futile struggles, the Cat Boss decided to make a decision that defied its ancestors.
"ow, ow... dear elder sister of the sa clan, can you please let go, ow?"
Presenting itself as weak and helpless, the Cat Boss pleaded to the War God holding on to it from behind.
It surrendered.
Question Tolyado. Understand Tolyado. Beco Tolyado.
A heavy silence followed.
Accompanied by the drum-like pounding of the Cat Boss's heartbeat.
Its fate, life or death, now depended on the decisions of the War Gods.
"Alright, alright."
The voice from behind the Cat Boss beca cheerful upon hearing this, releasing it and stepping back two steps.
"Thank you, ow."
The Cat Boss politely expressed its gratitude.
It felt as if it had co back to life.
Suppressing its lingering timidity, it didn't dare rashly flee, but instead turned to face the three figures.
Only to see the three of them gazing down at it.
"So strange, ow. Earlier, I clearly sensed a very powerful expert here, but they've vanished in the blink of an eye. Plus, there's a slight trace of Spatial Magic Power nearby—could I have imagined it?"
Twelfth Military God, Seat of Cat's Eye Bianca, looked around questioningly after releasing the Cat Boss.
Standing closest to the Cat Boss was a female Catman Clan mber. She had long, flowing orange hair reaching her waist, a slim and elegant tail, and wore a forest green fitted leather jacket. Her vertical pupils shone with both inherent wildness and cultivated intellect. Her sturdy leather boots, clearly designed for winter, completed the look.
"It could've been another War God. Ryan's sister is studying here, isn't she? He might co by."
Farther back, a booming voice blocked much of the winter midday sun from cat boss's view.
This man was tall, broad-shouldered, and slim-waisted, his muscular fra filling out a puffy white down jacket. tal glints on his wrists revealed signs of chanical modifications.
The Cat Boss didn't dare speak, remaining stiff and listening nervously to Kang Ze'er and Bianca converse.
From the Cat Boss's mories, this must be the Eighth War God, Zircon Throne Zercon—a forr special ops soldier gravely injured during a mission and on the brink of death. Military specialists perford high-risk ergency chanical modifications to save him, and through imnse willpower and adaptability, he survived and beca the Empire's strongest chanical humanoid prototype.
"Ryan, huh? Yeah, that's plausible; it's been ages since I last saw him."
Twelfth Military God, Seat of Cat's Eye Bianca, quickly relaxed and accepted this theory.
With Marquis Ryan around—or even other War Gods appearing at Saint Kray Temple—it wouldn't be unusual. Detecting a strong presence made sense.
Beside the Eighth War God Kang Ze'er stood another dignified-looking female.
She was approximately 1.8 ters tall; yet next to the towering Kang Ze'er, she appeared petite.
Her jet-black hair was neatly tied at the back of her head, and her refined features radiated sharp confidence. Her lips were pursed in a straight line, but what captivated the Cat Boss the most were her eyes—her right iris was a warm brown, while her left one was an artificial cybernetic blue. Even on her day off, streamline tal arm guards covered her outer arms, seamlessly lding with her physique.
"This little guy isn't weak either, and he belongs to the Space Series."
She lowered her head slightly, peering at the Cat Boss.
"ow!"
The Cat Boss instinctively sensed she was the most formidable of the three War Gods.
Based on her distinct features, she could only be the Fourth Military God, Jade Throne Jasper—the Empire's chanical scientist who personally oversaw Kang Ze'er's conversion. Interestingly enough, the Fourth and Eighth War Gods appeared to be partners, if not more.
